History:  Tempest lived with her mother and father for most of her life, moving out when she was 16 years old.  She was an only child and though life looked normal from the outside, the inside was a mess. Her mother was shy and quiet while her father was abusive, quick to anger, and relentless. He had always beat on Tempest's mother, and once Tempest turned 12 he began to turn his anger towards her as well, for that was when she began to challenge him against attacking her mother. When she was 15 her father attacked her, meaning to sexually attack her, and held her at knife point. She managed to wrestle the knife away from him, but not before getting slashed just below her left collar bone. She slit his throat that day, vowing that his violence ended there. After her father's death she and her mother found peace and she felt a need to go out into the world and try to make a difference. She moved out at 16 and wandered as a traveler. Her mother gave her enough money to buy what she might need to survive. Tempest invested that money into a set of leather armor and a long sword. She taught herself mainly how to use the sword, but her sword play was usually set aside, for to make money she often had to work at inns for a short time, or find elderly fathers eager for an extra hand around the farm.  She made enough from these jobs to pay for a few extra bits of weaponry and some gear.  When she was 19 she met a Knight of the Rose named Sir Aldon who, though it was against his own traditions to teach a girl the use of weapons, was convinced by her to help her out. He taught her how to use the chained spike, the dagger, the sap, and taught her better maneuvers for her long sword techniques. He was slain a year later during battle, and Tempest moved on.  Tempest wants only to make the world a better place, and is willing to do what it takes to further that goal. The lessons she learned from her abusive father, the people she met along the way, and Sir Aldon only helped to reinforce her decision. She is still close to her mother and will at any opportunity send home letters informing her mother about her travels, though because of her traveling she rarely ever receives letters from her mother.

DM's Notes: Tempest is a newcomer to our group, but as time progresses I am certain that her true colors will show.  The inner strength she possesses and her talent with blade and boot shall definitely make her an enigma among most.
