Behavior: Shanna is quiet and keeps to herself much of the time.  She is knowledgeable and has learned much through her
lifetime and it shows in her attitude most of the time.  She is fairly independant, yet at the moment she is quite scared.  Dealing with new tendancies has made her very jumpy and sometimes her hunger takes hold and she can get a bit crazy.  Her dark side
she does try to keep under tight reign though and usually succeeds.

History:  Both of Shanna's parents were Kagonesti.  Shanna grew up as a wild elf, in a tribe far removed from the other Kaganesti tribes, learning the ways of her kin. She had little contact with anything but her own tribe members until she was 45 years of age.  It was then that she met her first human.  Turmoil started to consume the tribes...the Kaganesti were being captured.  Shanna was full of spunk though and managed to outrun her captors.  Now on her own, the wild young elf girl sought to blend in with other elven tribes.  She only half succeeded, learning from them what she could including how to speak the common tongue and how to fight.
At the age of 75, she began her life as a thief and assassin.  Shanna proved to be excellent at both and soon she was sought after, not only for her skills but for her head as well.  She stayed an assassin for 20 years before she was given a wake up call in a horrific massacre she'd been a part of.  After that she left the assassin's life behind her and moved on.

She found herself in a small port town and got herself hired on as a deckhand on a ship.  Two years later she
was first mate.  A year after that, she was Captain of her own ship.  For twenty two years, she sailed the seas, usually hauling risky cargo or going on wild adventures, always learning something new.  Unfortunately, her past caught up to her and she was forced to leave her life as a ship's captain behind and take up one last adventure as an assassin.

One job melted into another, and another, and soon she was back to thieving full time.  The assassinations were kept to a bare minimum with her refusing most jobs.  She couldn't stand killing any more, she'd seen too much of it already.  Shanna always wished for a carefree life.  Even though she was still fairly young for an elf, she felt as if her life would end before she got to experience everything the world had to offer.

It would take almost 15 years before she could break the cycle of thieving again.  This time she ran into an odd group of travelers at a tavern.  Curious and hooked right from the start, she joined them in their journey to the knight Thurgood Silverhelm's keep to clear his father's name.  Along the journey, she thought she'd fallen in love, and for that love she'd
been tricked into something that had been completely against her will.  She was turned into an undead so she could live for all eternity with her supposed love.  Not staying around to teach her anything, he left her and was never seen again.

Experiencing new sensations, the feeling of extreme cold right to the bone, no beating heart, her skin oddly pale, even for a fair skinned elf.  These were just a few of the new things she had to deal with. Her eyes were cursed, her own reflection gone,
she was so confused and alone.  Not knowing what else to do but stay with the group, she helped them defeat the enemies at Ingerson Keep, restoring the Silverhelm name.  Now, these people were her friends, something she had not experienced in years and years.  How could one leave that?  Well Shanna couldn't.  Experiencing more than her share of attractions, and believing most to be due to the charm her eyes held, Shanna stayed, hoping against hope that the group could help her find
a cure.

A drow in the group claimed he could help her find a cure, and Shanna accepted, knowing he wanted more out of the bargain than he'd let on.  Not caring about the consequences though, she agreed and soon she and Questor Blacksteel were cast into the past, before the Cataclysm.  They came in search of the Kingpriest, and after more than a little effort, Shanna has just  now reached the Kingpriest.  Unbeknownst to Shanna, however, the cure for her condition is right under her nose...Will she discover it or no?  Only time will tell.

DM's Notes:  Shanna leads a troubled mockery of life.  Her goal of one day becoming a living creature once more is noble but also very far away.  She must overcome the natural instincts and magical influence of her current status and focus only on her task.  That is the only way that she can overcome the numerous obstacles ane enemies that fate has strewn along her life's path.
