Background & Notes
Ajax was born into a noble family of Qualinesti. His mother is a second cousin to the Speaker of the Sun. His father, a retired Knight of the Rose, lives in Qualinost with Ajax's mother and family.
Also, Ajax has a large extended family, so many he cannot keep track of them all. The family is ruled by the Elders which consist of his Elven great-grandparents. The family's private ethics are fair, they keep their word and contracts. However, the public ethics of the family have undergone a recent change. In times past, they looked down upon humans. This changed when Ajax's mother, Aerlyn, secretly married Adlar Rynu, a knight of the Rose. Granted, the family did not like this, but came around due to respect for Adlar's strong morals and ethics. However, there are still people within the family that dislike humans. Mainly Ajax's Great Uncle Caedrus who once attempted to kill young Ajax.
The family worships Paladine (odd for an elven family), but are not active. Their reputation is unknown to many people, so not a lot of people recognize their name. Even though Ajax's Great Grandfather helped to overthrow an Overlord in the Ergoth Isles so many years ago.
Since Ajax's family is nobility, they are a part of the political system of Qualinost (even if it is a small one). But, frankly, most of them don't care. this does not keep them from preparing for all problems though. The family's defensive status if moderate, everyone learns to be proficient with at least one simple weapons. Also, magical types of defense are used around the Family's household.
Ajax at a young age, displayed an affinity
for magic when his brother (Devereau, Half-Elf, Ranger) threw a punch at
him. Ajax brought up a magical field that ended up breaking Devereau's
hand. Ajax's younger sister (Jelanen, Half-Elf, Cleric) cared for
Devereau. Also, when Ajax was young,
his great-grandmother contracted a wasting Illness from a merchant. Ajax
cared for her until she died. When she finally did Ajax blamed himself.
Ajax has three interesting life events that
he can recall. One was the death of his great grandmother. Another
was the attack upon him by his Great Uncle Caedrus. The Third and final
event Ajax personally can't remember. It was the day of his birth. This
was an interesting event due to the fact
that all three moons were eclipsing each other.
He had early Magical and formal education.
His formal Education consisted of astronomy, mathematics, literature, and
history. His magical education officially ended with his Test at the Tower.
However, he still yearns for information and new ideas.
Before making the trip to the tower, Ajax
apprenticed under an Alchemist and learned the ways of Alchemy.
He is a stalwart companion to his friends and close companions. He is aware that he will outlive them and he will stay young while they grow old. He understands but dreads the day that this will happen.
DM's Notes: In my time I have seen few characters with as much resourcefulness as our very own Ajax Rynu. This unique sorcerer has been with the party since we cleared Lord Ingerson's keep, and I have watched with interest as his power and knowledge grew. During his test he displayed remarkably interesting traits, and it was an enigma for me to assign him a fitting robe color. He possesses quite a bit of courage as well, which was well demonstrated by making it unbelievably close to the Palanthas Tower of High Sorcery, and only a select few have been know to make it further (Caramon Majere, Crysania, Dalamar, Palin, Steel Brightblade, and of course Raistlin Majere). I believe that this young mage has quite a future in store for him, but only time will tell.
