the official web site is finally done. check out all the info... a second album is in the works, for one thing. and make sure to check out the official forum.

some remixes of the song "Jupiter" will be featured on an upcoming Echoing Green single. The single features the EG song "Fall Awake" as well as their cover of "Little Drummer Boy" (which is featured on the Plastiq Musiq Christmas compilation). speaking of the Plastiq Christmas comp., Leiahdorus had to drop out of it. he was working on the song "Carol of the Bells." here's hoping that song is completed and released sometime.

i've put off reviewing the latest single Indigent for too long. all i'm going to say is, it's great. it's worth getting just to hear the incredible b-side song "Technology" -- all piano with Jason's vocals. and the Echoing Green's edit of "Stars" is just awesome... i prefer that mix over the album mix. just by a little bit.

Leiahdorus -- "lee-ah-dor'-iss," aka "Leiah-D." i first heard their song "Wake" about a year before the album was released. Joey Belville (of the Echoing Green) posted a message on the EG fan forum with a link to an mp3 so we could hear this new band. i wasn't totally thrilled with the song when i first heard it. but after several listens, it grew on me, to the point where it became one of my favorite songs.

i'm glad i kept that song in my mp3 playlists back then, because the album is great. this is the best new band that i've heard in a long time... the album has everything from warm piano and synth lines, to strings, buzzing synth leads, and even what sounds like a bagpipe on one song ("Wake").

Joey B. also helped out a lot with production on this new album. and Chrissy, also of Echoing Green, did backup vocals for some tracks. it would be great to see both EG and LD live, since they "share" some members between the two bands. also, I read somewhere that Jason (founder of LD) now plays keys for EG in concert.

Leiahdorus song reviews

• Indigent. a great song, also one of the few without piano, from the album Ashes, Ashes. one of my top favorites of what we've heard so far from LD.

• Dissection of Man. another great song. this one starts out with the piano, which then weaves its way in and out at different points of the song. if you only listen to one LD song, make it this one.

• Wake. the first taste most of us got of this new band Leiahdorus. they also have an awesome music video for "Wake," which is found on the Wake CD single.
