| Every June, Confederate descendents flock to Camp Ben McCulloch in Driftwood, Texas, to celebrate their heritage with partying, swimming, a carnival, dances, & plenty of good food. And though my family doesn't have the vote at the general meeting yet, we still love to camp there, year after year. Please excuse the mess, but this is 'a work in progress,' & I'm hoping that I'll get more pics to fill the spaces & more pages to look at. "Then call us Rebels, if you will, We glory in the name, For bending under unjust laws, And swearing faith to an unjust cause, We count as greater shame." Richmond Daily Dispatch, May 12th, 1862 |
