Manabo Peak
- Is one of the three major peaks of Rugged MT.MALEPUNYO more popularly known
to locals as paligawan or mating place for catles. so dont wonder if
you see catle roaming in the campsite manabo peak is the smallest among the
three peaks in terms of height. the trailhead head is in barangay sulok
across a small stream. the trail going up is easy to moderate passing
through coconut farms its the same trail use by local farmers raising catle
up to the peak the trail is wide with coconut trees along the way up to
the forest line.
be aware that lipa trees grows abundantly in this part of batangas thats
why the city itself named Lipa City ..wear gaiters and long sleeve shirt to
protect your legs and arms..picture shows part of large manabo campsite
when you pass the forested area you will emerge to a clearing leading to
the peak. it has a cross at the top built by pilgrims campsite is big amply
covered with trees and carpeted with carabao grass the peak is an ideal
vantage point in viewing major mountains of southern tagalog if you want
a more relaxing climb this is the place to be.
GETTING THERE
From Alabang take bus plying by Lipa or lemery Batangas. alight at Big-bens
mall then take tricycle to talisay jeep station. take jeep bound to bario
sulok.(or you can ask the tricycle driver to bring you directly to brgy.
sulok.) the driver will bring you to brgy. captains house for
registration.green fee is not required. the driver will then bring you to
the jump-off near the post of Electric powerline. trailhead is across the
small stream.
