Mt. MALASIMBO- Located in the province of oriental mindoro this is one of the
mountains you can climb when you visit the island of Puerto Galera others
namely Talipanan and Calavite.,Mt.Malasimbo is the mountain that dominates
the background of Puerto Galera Shore, oftenly cloud covered specially the
peak area it is home to numbers of wildlife specially wild boar, deer and
rare species of avian life and plants, one can climb Malasimbo from Puerto
Galera via 6 hours hike through its shoulder goin to peak or by traversing
from the peak of Mt.Talipanan. its slope is inhabited by local farmers
raising cattle and goats, and mangyan tribes living in their traditional
hut,there are
lots of chances to meet them along the trail,hunting wildboars and planting
root crops that they sell to the markets in the lowlands they are very
familiar
with mountaineers who frequent scaling the mountain thay are very
accumodating and
kind enough to share their domain for us visitor.Malasimbo can be climb
anytime
of the year specially during summer months, Climbing Malasimbo is
not complete without exploring and leisurely dip in the blue waters of
puerto galera.
