most accessible hiking destination for manileņos. only three hours

the highest, sampaloc, batya-batya and three other less visited falls..The
trek goin to Romelo involves several river crossing and short stiff

with heveanly blue skies,Mt.Sembrano is visible from the distance,Laguna
lake and neighboring town of Laguna, Rizal and Quezon province. basecamp
is wide amply covered with secondary growth forest
WHEN AND HOW TO GO
SUMMER is the best time to climb romelo...the trail is extremely
slippery when it rains plus blood sucking
limatiks infest the trail during wet season. making your climb uncomfortable.
to go there take a jeep from edsa central bound for siniloan laguna.
normally the jeep will take you at siniloan town. ask the driver to take
you directly to famy (jump-off point) you will pass by Tanay and other
scenic town of rizal via the winding maharlika highway. trailhead is across
the creek at the back of ka esther house.(ka esther or NANAY to most of the
mountaineers is very accumodating to visitors she owns the store before the
trailhead which is the unofficial registration.. ka esther died last time we
climb..but her husband still lives there.)trail is so confusing coz it
branches everywhere. but you can ask direction from the friendly locals
along the way.
