Raintree (Perm. Reg.) Kennel
Basset Hounds
Our Foundation:
Ch. Bow-Ridge's Remington Steele CD
(Am.Can. Ch. Bow-Ridge's Peter Frampton
          ex Ch. Bow-Ridge's Limited Edition)

Steele was bred by Louis and Roxanna Bowman, Bow-Ridge (Perm. Reg.).  Steele was our first serious hound group contender, and he accumulated many group wins and placements.  Steele never did show much enthusiasm for the show ring, but if he had we feel he probably would have won even more often.  He produced further generations of hound group winners for us, and they did love the show ring!

Ch. Bow-Ridge's Jonquil
(Am.Can. Ch. Bow-Ridge's Gregor Mendel
          ex Ch. Bow-Ridge's Limited Edition)

(Jonquil fit our ideal of what a female Basset should be.  She had beauty, style and an absolutely  lovely side gait!  We felt extremely fortunate to acquire her from Bow-Ridge Kennels when she was about one year old.  Jonquil produced some of our favourite Raintree Bassets!

Ch. Tavyecho's Elegance CD
(Am. Can. Ch. Taveyecho's AJ
          ex Ch. Bow-Ridge's Gloria Granderbuilt)

Ellie came to us from Shirley Young, Tavyecho Kennels, Smith Falls, Ontario.  Ellie only produced one puppy for us, but Striker was a good one!  Striker was our first Best Puppy in Show Winner, and he even finished his championship with a Group First.  Some very nice Raintree Bassets go back to Ellie through Striker.
Raintree Basset Hounds:

Ch. Raintree's Ginger Rogers
(Ch. Heathrows The Ultimate Classic
          ex Ch. Bow-Ridge's Jonquil)

Milly,  pictured at about 4 months old, still resides at Raintree.  Milly has lovely breed type, a wonderful front and rear, and she uses everything she has to move in an easy, effortless manner.  Milly was a joy to show with her easy going, fun-loving nature, and she finished her championship in great style with two Group Firsts along the way.  We wouldn't have minded a few more just like her!

Raintree's Cinnamon Twist
(Ch. Heathrows The Ultimate Classic
          ex Ch. Bow-Ridge's Jonquil)

We were very pleased to get not just one, but two  beautiful females from the breeding that produced Carlee and  Milly.  Carlee didn't have the showmanship that Milly possessed, so although she was well on the way to her championship, we did not pursue it.  Carlee is two years old in this photo, and she was one of those dogs that was always in solid, muscular condition without any effort on our part.  My kind of dog!
