Gina's Poetry: Untitled, The Saga of the Sneezing Princess, Away

Untitled

Drivin a coffee table to neworleans
With a monkey on my shoulder
Eating zwieback crackers, wearing an
over the shoulder boulder holder

My cats are takin over my house
and they are wearin tuxedos
and blue suede shoes
The computer is takin over the mouse
i named my dog phydeaux
after my CPU

Playing baseball with a married man
with a parrot in my suitcase
squalking and playing my guitar
and my arm has another face.

Life makes about as much sense
as these words will make
then or now
But it takes no amount of dollars and cents
Be strange there is nothing at stake
But first you must figure out how.

The Saga of the Sneezing Princess

Narrator: on a pleasant sunny afternoon
where the lilies were in bloom
and with great speed the pollen flew
'Round the princess with her nose so blue

now this princess, she was beautiful
with style, charm and grace
till she's tormented with these sneezing fits
that contort her pretty face.

Princess: Achoo! Achoo! oh woe is me
i can't hold back this dreadful sneeze
if soon this terror does not flee
No decent man will marry me!

Narrator: She sniffled, sneezed, and wiped her face
and frantically she searched about
she had to blow her nose but found
the tissues had run out!

Princess: Oh dear oh horror what to do
i must find some....aCHOO aaCHOOOO!!
some kleenex that will trap this cold
So it doesn't turn into the flu

Narrator: Her anxiousness was building up
Her frustration grew and grew...and GREW
Her nose began to itch and twitch
as she let out one ACHOOOOOOOO!!!!

Thunder boomed and lightening struck
the town began to run amuck
the earth was shaking, tremors quaking
her nose was aching....then....

she took a breath and rubbed her eyes
there was a ripping in the sky
a hole appeared above their heads
In place of running they, instead

Were pulled right through the gaping hole
where it took them no one knows
to another world perhaps
there was no one left to ask

the town was gone, the sky was closed
so was that celestial vacuum hose
the princess cried upon her kneeze
and wished that she had never sneezed

Princess: if the tissues had not dissappeared
My town would still be sitting here
i must move on and start my own
at least i will not be alone

Narrator: she traveled over under by and through
for something to blow her nose into
Months went by, and still no sign
of anyone to help her find

something that would stop her sneezing
somehting that would make her smile
to find a friend to find a tissue
she walked each and every mile

When suddenly a ray of light
a ray of hope was just in sight

Princess: oh JOY oh Rapture !
Narrator: cried out she
Princess: i hope and pray that i don't sneeze

Narrator: soon enough her nose was twitching
and her nostrils started itching
she held her breath till she was blue
and then came out this haa..haaa.....

but out of nowhere came a man
with tissue boxes as his hands
and a tissue coat and tissue hat
that trapped the sneeze JUST LIKE THAT

The town was saved from the ripping sky
the princess smiled and wiped her eyes
for she's been happy ever since
married to the Tissue Prince.

Away

i see the line where tides recede
a layer of silt and sand is she
it clouds my thoughts and clouds my eyes
makes each step less dignified
was it etched coincidentally?

i struggle with my silent act
while his hand lies upon my back
it pacifies my guard and lets
my caution lay its nerves to rest
left open for a sneak attack.

in the cone of artificial light
i see what i don't see at night
my eye lids droop, i'm craving sleep
can't hold my head, my neck is weak
the pink has stained what once was white.

his face is moving close to mine
but friendship creased the boundary line
i reach, i reach my arms across
though i won't learn through my mistrust
what weaves the web beneath the rind.

trust, so pourous, growing stale
i worry over each detail
of her uncompromising memory
he's wishing for what used to be
while settling for what is there.

i'm feeling somewhat lost today
inside what thoughts i cannot say
shall i commit the social sin
and fail to hold my feelings in?
or let them slide away, away.
