Ben Harper tix went on sale about an hour and a hlaf ago for a few semi local shows (less than 2 hours away).  They're pretty cheap so I'm thinking about it...

Concerts Concerts Concerts...alwasy gotta break my bank ya know....ahhhh, sigh, such is what having an expensive hobby does to you...I'm thinking of upgrading my mics in the not too distant future, thinking something along the lines of the Neumann KM184s...but I need somethignn more stealthable...sigh.  Heh, I got the clones a rolling this wknd for trades :)  Getting that San Jose Plugged Tour Show (98) I opted to skip so I could go back to class..having looked at the setlist, and having looked at my grades and efforts in class, I should have skipped more school.  Oh well, hindsight ya know?
Speaking of class...have coordinated with christa (who's putting up a really cool to venus and back tour page, check it out...http://home.inreach.com/raisngrl/tori/venus.html  [it's still under construction...]) to see her for a while whilst in Cali.  Wahoo!  Also, alex has a friend from Canada in town for a while whilst I'm in Cali--i ordered another ticket and so we're (alex, myself and his friend, not christa too, though that'd be neat too) all going to the Tricky show.  No replies from anyone saying they're taping the show (posted the query to Datheads) so I guess I'm rolling...I need to start packing--trying to go as light and as little as possible in light of all the stuff I'm bringing back with me--tape deck, rock gear, CDs, tapes...buncha stuff of that sort...the modem for my old powerbook so I can use it to check email if this CPU goes down for some reason...also so I can get some of the stuff off that hard drive.  I know no other way since it has no floppy and i know no-one local with a mac to hook that hard drive to (plus the hassle that would entail to do anyway...)

I have been eyeing zip drives for a *long* time now, and there's been two or three times I almost just picked one up and said Charge it!  But I was thinking about it yesterday...how big a pain will it be to use it with a Windows emulator for Linux?  I need to research that a bit.  The thing is though, I need some way to backup a lot of stuff on this computer before I turn it in for good...I lost  lots of files and some pictures and such when I went through the whole "time to reformat the hard drive" phases not too long ago...ESPECIALLY since I had no working floppy drive...hrmph, maybe I'll buy stock in 3.5s for the time being...

Supposed to get wic the clan in about fifteen minutes on ICQ...nail down final details on the various trips and plans for my visit.
I'm getting super excited about it.  It's been too long since I've seen mom and dad and justine and ron and katrina...let ALONE Alex!  Heh, we're gonna party like its 1999 ;)
