Cornell Euphoria Morning
To Venus and Back was released today...Picked up my cassette copy for the car and gave it a good listening...Picked up a nice 1996 Benzinger Merlot, a good cigar, ordered in Chinese and lit a half dozen candles--my roomie was in class so I had the time to myself to absorb it in style...
Well, I ate too much and now I'm bloated. Go figure. But it was a good time. I fell asleep for a spell--too much good stuff and not enough sleep as of late did me in. I awoke to Dan walking through my door. He's still having trouble with Katie and while I'm trying to be a good friend, he won't take my advice and doesn't seem to really want to listen to what I have to say about him not taking my advice. I told him that if he wasn't gonna at least help me help him, it was just getting to be a pain in the ass for him to come over and mope...I try to help and he does nothing on it so I get frustrated and then I start to feel like I'm not being enough of a friend when he leaves still morose. What the fuck ever.
I emailed Christa to tell her about my revelations on her at the Indy Show. I also told her I'm gonna be in Cali soon and if we could meet for a night or two. So far I haven't heard back from her...She doesn't seem to be online a whole lot anymore, i guess because of so many other important things to be doing...which I of course don't knock her for...
The Tori Shrine is pretty much done now. I may tweak with it a bit but the overal structure and layout is complete. Jennifer Franklin seemed to like it. As far as I know she's the first/only one to have seen it.
I realized a couple days ago that this journal is more than likely never going back to the once a day pattern it used to have. What with having a full time (+) job, I simply don't always have the time nor the inclination to make an entry anymore. I need to pick my reading back up too. Damnit, one of these days I'm going to actually finish Les Mis...It's just a pain in the arse because a lot of free time is being taken by all these new little sidebars I'm putting up on my page. I got my old literature off disk and back online (finally), the Tori Shrine, and this new photo album. Still working on the photo album (and yeah I finally remembered what the word was..."album"...For the life of me I couldn't recall it when I started the damn thing...)
Heading out to the M60 (machine gun) firing range tomorrow.
We have 16900 rounds for all of 18 firers. It takes the average person
about 250 rounds to zero the weapon and fire expert...With 18 people...you
do the math, it's about 900 round per person. I'm not looking forward
to cleaning these things when we get back. The carbon build up is
gonna be horrific...
And it's scheduled to rain again tomorrow...
Chris Cornell put out his solos album today too, Euphoria Morning. It's a really good album IMHO...much moodier and explorative than the Soundgarden material--very much more along the lines of Temple of the Dog material...
