I haven't listened ot live music in a long time...I ought to plug my DAT in and rectify that problem, but I'm about to go to bed now so I won't bother...Lately I've taken to playing one CD, all the way through, then setting it in the "listened to lately" pile and drawing a different CD from the masses...frightening to see just how big that played pile already is--I spend a damn shit load of time in this room, almost all of it at this computer...Lots of coding, if you could call using Netscape Composer coding--a bit of a change from using pico on axe, and I almost feel like a wimp for using a graphical interface to create this site...but I'll say one thing, it makes the whole deal a bit easier, and considering all the pages to put up, it's a great boon...
Of course not all this time on the computer has been spent productively, in the journal sense...doing a lot of web surfing, reestablighing lost contacts, bookmarking favorite pages of yore, finding new pages of exciting promise, etc. etc. also finding shareware to improve this computer...I need to get more memory, because my god does windows 98 eat it all up...running 64MB of memory a few years ago you never really had to worry about "insufficient memory, try closing one or more active programs and trying again"...the shit thing is, I get this message on occasions and I don't even have anything open---it's all those resident applications...aaacccckkkkk!!!!! Broke down and bought Norton Utilities Sunday. Found an awesome deal on an Iomega Ditto drive friday--$45 at the PX sidewalk sale--brand new...but I didn't know just how great a deal that really was, and debated the money...went back saturday and they were both gonarooni...bums...
"Snoochie Poochie"...watched Clerks at Nadine's yesterday w/ she and Dan. Found a cool pool hall Saturday night called Breakers Billiards...bunch of tables, bar, and gulp, karoikee...lord please keep me from getting too trashed there and trying to get on stage...can't sing for dog shit...It was a good weekend though...got some of this stuff done, some of the social stuff, some of the sleep things...Saw Star Wars, Episode I (The Phantom Menace) Saturday evenig. It was a decent movie, but nowhere near the staying power of episodes 4,5,6...it hurts the storyline that we already know the outcome of obi one, anakin, r2d2, etc...i was greatly pleased to see r2d2 was around even back then...whatta droid!!
But Nadine and I went with some of the same MP friends (minus Val thank god!)...they left for home right after the flic and Nadine and I ran into Dan at the Coffee Scence just as we were about to leave...she was shit faced...i was nonplussed--it seems as if that sort of thing happens to me quite often...we had been just talking about him, wondering where he was,and it was as if our discussion magically conjured him...
Today was a rather weak NBC certification...We donned our pro suits (and I couldn't, for the life of me, get my rubber boots on...but most ppl hadn't even bothered to bring them, so I was safe...), masks, and "cleared a room". One "bad guy" in the corner and it was my job to simulate "taking him out" upon entrance--which I did quite a good job of I have to say...A few side straddle hops to see if we'd left our masks too loose--thereby breaking the seal and breathing some CS...but no problemo on that front...
and that was it for the morning. came back, didn't bother going to lunch (had a big breakfast and wasn't hungry + I had coffee)...
work--put together some binders to assist IO's in Article 32(b) investigations, Article 15-6, and Summary Courts-Martial...I wasn't supposed to get it all done today, so I'd have something to do the next couple of dayz...but my boss never said anything about that...so the next few days should be rather boring per the first week I was in the office. Maybe I'll bring this in and type up some entries...
Been talking with mom/dad and alex on ICQ a few times in the past week. It's much cheaper than a phone call, and more convenient for me, especially since I'm online so much right now...In fact, I wish I could be online right now and uploading these pages I have typed up...but Earthlink is screwed up right now...I even called tech support and the yhad an automated message about the problem, so at least it's not my computer being all flunky again...
Friday morning was an awesome day. Washed an FMTB (or is it FMTP?, can't recall --troop/gear transport vehicle, kinda like a modernized deus and a half) with Sgt Chevalier, Spc Perez, and Spc Elley, then was off for the day...9AM...which was an awesome thing because *shawing* advance Tori tix were going on sale (supposedly) at 10AM my time...I got home, got online, trembled voraciously, and waited and waited and waited....only to find out the whole system for advance vip tix sales was kinda screwy and I didn't get in until about noon, like everyone else...BUT, the bottom line is thus: 2 tix each for Atlanta, GA (stage left 11th row), Antioch, TN (stage right 8th row), and Charlotte, NC (stage center 5th row) on Aug 21,22 and 24th, respectively...Excited doesn't begin to describe my feelings...Told Dan and he really wants to go...but it'd be super excellent to meet a women interested in going instead. We will see what we will see, the wheel weaves as the wheel weaves.
