2026
I yacked last night. Didn't even realize it until I came home during lunch and had to use the kimode...I ran into people drinking in the hallway...They had bottles of Bacardi and Smirnoff. Both had ample amounts of liquor left, but, with their permission...no more rum or vodka. Coupled with three or four beers of my own, I went through airborne op's "refresher training" a leetle queesy this morning. The whole detachment had "safe jumper training" to refresh the jumpers and give the non airborne qualified a little insight on it all...It was boring, my helmet was too tight, and I wasn't feeling so good because of all that booze. In fact, if my boss hadn't come and knocked on my door (since I set my alarm for PM and not AM) and shocked the beegeevies outta me when I opened the door, I probably woulda had a seriously hardtime getting ou of bed...
When the 1st Sergeant asked me later if I'd had fun, I said no.
I'm still very dehydrated, despite all the fluids I've been chugging. I'll normally drink at least the recommended 8 glasses of water a day...today I've about doubled that...My throat feels pins and needles a little still as well. (my but that's a trainwreck of a sentence).
Johnson (formally Stocker) and Kennedy found me today. They went to the office and asked my Sgt 'bout me...she gave them my room number and they waited for me to get back from the PX (I went to buy a phone, something I forgot went I went last night to get the coffee maker, the grinder, and some food items (like the coffee)...also picked up the Playboy's Lingerie special...oh lordy some beautifull women in there...
Speaking of Beauty, and I know I'm getting off on a tangent but I'll get to the reunion, There was a 1st Lt working with us at airborne ops. Apparently she worked at 525 HHD not too long ago... all I can say is if she was still working there, I would never get any work done. She was perfect to the point of distraction. I forgot her name and while I can't believe that, it's probably a good thing...lest I go pyscho and stalk her. Bad idea there...as if being a Commissioned Officer isn't enough, she was married...yet she was numbing. Some of the whitest teeth I ever noticed IRL and consequently a smile to kill over, the slightest hint of red in her lshort, brown hair, penetrating eyes. A voice like an angle and a kindness and gentleness to match.
She was every last part the woman of my dreams if she was well educated...seemed shrewd and intelligent so I'd figure she was.
Hopefully I don't see her too often or i'd question God for the cruelty.
So Johnson and Kennedy and Sapp, who was in my company at airborne school and became friends w/ Kennedy...they're all quite well. Johnson's hair was lighter than last I remembered, think it was dark and now it's blonde...She's working at DISCOM...not sure what that stands for actually, but she's living off post w/ her dog and has settled in rather well. She gave me her address, it's not too far from here, and I gave her phone number...that still isn't activated yet. I'd hoped the phone company would be early with that, but no dice. She's a friend here that I supposedly met at AIT but I don't remember her...they're having a picnic this weekend and I'm invited...Kennedy remembered her and when I plied him, he said she was cute too...
Kennedy is well. Just finished inprocessing over at 82nd replacement and is shipping to his new unit tommorrow, of which there are two possibilities and he doesn't know which one he's going to yet...Poor man still doesn't have his beret yet either. But he's excited to be finally getting to his end stop for now...he borrowed a duffle of mine cuz he said he bought some more clothes and the extra bag makes packing easier.
Daniel and I may be driving to Nashville for Labor day Weekend. I think he's thinking about buying a car there. He was gonna take a bus but I offered to drive...never been to Nashville and he lived there so he can show me around...Should be a fun way to spend the 3 day wknd.
I checked ticketmaster online at work today to see what the local concert scene is like in North Carolina. Around here, it's bad. Raleigh has an ampitheater called Alltell, and it seems to have a few good shows on occassion. Charlotte has the same deal, Blockbuster Amp...I compared the list of concerts for NC to the CA list though...it was pretty sad. I didn't see *too* many shows in CA I feel bad to miss...Ben Harper, Tom Petty being the biggest. No Tool, no Tori, no PJ...although Three Fish is putting a new album out next month and touring for it--but the closest they're coming to me is Boston, not exactly a short hop skip and dance away...a good 10+ hours. Although if the concert fell on the right day and I could nab a little leave, I might be able to see Sarah too...
From typing out the old entries, I've noticed that most
of them seem short. Then, I notice most of these recent entries are much
longer. Typing is so much more fluid and productive for me...
