EOCT – easy enough, passed all 21, 19 first time goes (no mistakes) 2 2nd time goes  (1 small mistake).  Never had to do the don/remove/store mask…a SGT misplaced his sig on a diff. Performance measure… ;)

That took all day at the Mock Village site.  So one last requirement for graduation,  APFT tomorrow.  Shooting for 60 PU, 60 SU, 14 flat on the run…possible.

Haven’t changed weight since I first got here to BCT, 154 lbs…but I am certainlky stronger…

Soon to be “home” where I will be back to “civilian” life & first naems…that will be an odd situation & w/ civlian clothes, makign my own decisions…etc.  Looking forward to so much; Pall Malls & Path of Daggers & Coffee Cavern, Movies w/ Bug, Katrina, Vette, Mom & Dad & Misha, home cooked meals, sleep, hot showers, real TP instead of mess hall napkins…

Dear sweetheart…that joke about “Glen doesn’t write ‘dear sweetheart’ in his journal –I was referring to Dougherty writing letters”…FG, 1st shift, 2130-2230.  It’s 2030 right now.

Looking back up on the last 9 weeks, I’m amazed at just how insignificant it all seems.  I’ve learned many things, the test today proved that, but so little of it will ever be used in a live situation.  Life is full of dissapointments though I suppose, and where I believed this journal might be of mass interest, I must say I was mistaken – so much of I did this, then that – most of it being stupid, stupid stuff – getting smoked, value’s classes, FG, CQ, whining, about nonmotivated ppl, etc…but at least some things were worth noting – the ppl, the Drill Sgts, etc.

It’s 2100 and rather quiet considering lights don’t go out for another ½ hour…everyone is getting/trying to get a good nights sleep for the APFT tomorrow…but explain this: MRE’s for breakfast beforehand?  They want to make sure we don’t eat donuts?

Glorified trade school is what it all boils down to.

Heldenbrand bought 3 books at the Mall, 1984, Lord of the Flies, and Inferno…a man after my heart’s love of Literature.  I just bummed the Dante to reread the last Canto, ‘bout Satan, his 3 heads chomping Judas Iscariot, Brutus, & Cassius…traitors to their “country”

I want inspiration...but no emotion has evolved from these last couple months – that more than anything annoys me I think.  Not to say poetic inspiration was much of a reason to join, but I did think I might get something;  sadly mistaken.
