And still not enough sleep -- but the cold is almost done w/ it's ways.
2350--FG + Laundry boy. Today was map reading (intro) & MPT building (multi-purpose tent) -- big ones for "quick warmups" out in the field.

I need a haircut.  Funny feeling to think I need one -- haven't had that feeling in years...cough cough cough...ack ack.

Almost got a counseling slip today for not shaving the morn of the musuem trip -- Wynder saw one PVT who hadn't andasked who else -- I raised my hand -- explaining today I don't shave in the morning cuz I don't need to -> not at all a harry person.  He excused the slip...and actually I just realized that happened yesterday...watever. Hard to keep track of days here.  They're so damn long -- 17 hours... Tommorrow is the last day of week 2 -- been here as long as I was at reception already.  Time has flown by...yet the 37 days to Xmas Exodus seem an intolerable sleep deprived time away--it's the sleep that annoys me, more than anything else I suppose.  Everything is cotton candy.  I'm getting sick of reading my "smart book".  Next week, PG, APG, & 4 squad leaders are to be appointed.  I think I *might* be a squad leader if I'm (un?)lucky...

Today we didn't get smoked much, yeah! They must be going easier on us now.  Today was Veterans Day though, so perhaps that was a factor. No PT tomorrow to rest up for the APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test) Saturday.

weatherhultYesterdays roadmarch -- short.  M16 got hard to hold at port arms -- pistol grip slipped inot my LCE belt -- ahhhhh relief.  Starry beautifull morning.  Thoughts of how easily we coulda been ambushed walking as we were out in the filed -- 2 columns on either side of the road @ 90 ppl long each...Didn't feel like a soldier, even w/ an m16 & rucksack.  Must be the atmospher of indifference & undedication around me.  I came here for college $ like a lot of others here, but it's a few steps past that for me -- opportunity to give back to Uncle Sam, to join the world's largest fraternity of honorable fellas, treavel, meet new people, etc.  It frustrates me all to hell the way most people carry themselves, talking in formation, not doing PT or not trying, or shirking barraks duties, being late to formation, sleeping late and not cleaning the latrine when necessary for cleaning, etc.

Wheatherhult was accused of calling PVT Brown a "nigger" -- it got reported = Racial Discrimination, Disrespecting an NCO, & Excessive swearing -> going to command for a punishment decision.  Likeli is high fines, extra duty.  Perhaps even demotion althought I think it's a little unlikely for this one time...but they (command) might want an example made of him...He swears he used no such word but 7 pairs of ears say nay to that...
