More Rain. Sent Indoors due to thunder and lightning. Happy joy got to ditch road guard vest...saw a pile on a choir at FTB Battery House so...1031 lunch is soon.
Finished Act 2 today...excellent drama, excitement.
Sitting around, waiting for BCT, still. I think I'll call home tonight.
Betts can't shit -- 3 times so far. Why we are having this conversation is because Angerhauser came in w/ "All I've done since I've gotten here is shit..."
"What're we doing marking time?
Dress and Cover dress and cover"
"Standing tall and looking good
Gonna march in Hollywood"
"More PT DS, more PT
We like it, we love it
We want more of it
Make it Hurt DS, make it hurt
Booooooooosshhhhaaaaaaaaaaaa, FTB"
A bit of free time off the bleachers, in the barraks 1400...till 1600, called Mom & Dad let them know what was up..."boring here, we sit around all day" They're fine...mom misses me, of course. They got my letter Thursday...
The barraks are stereotypical Army quarters...tile floor, banks w/ brown wool blankets, windows w/ venetians every six feet or so. latrine is basic college dorm variety. 6 toilets, 4 urinals, 2 shower areas w/ 2 heads each, 8 sinks + mirrors. Footlockers about 4x2x2. Dark Brown w/ latches for our locks.
Fort
Sill is the Artillery training center...a lot of men here are
13 Bravo or 13 Echo or 13 Charlie -- artillery MOS's...but still a few
oddballs like 71D, 75Hotel (Frank) & such...Fort Jackson was all filled
up for BCT--that's why I'm here now...
I wonder sometimes what the Mess Hall EMployees think about. What does it mean to them to be working for the U.S. Army, I'm sure they're Civ's...How does the sight of all the new recruits strike them. How many men and women have they seen that dies. Do they force a distance between the realization of the situation and the people they see? Do they try to forget the fact of the matter? Especially back when, say, Korea, Vietnam, WWII? Some of the people there have probably been there a while...
We had a contrband search today...stashed away my walkman
cuz SDS Rodgers said "No books, magazines, or anything like that"
