Poetry IV
Memory Lane
The red and golden leaves of Autumn's Change
Drift down from the trees of Summer Memories
To land on the floor of the Forest of Reminiscence
And mingle with the dirt and grime of Past Agonies.

Images of past love, pain, happiness and sorrow
Gather together at the end of the tunnel
To greet the dawning omen of light
To welcome new memories before taking flight
.
The red and golden leaves of Autumn's Change
Drift down from the trees of Summer Memories
To mingle with the dirt and grime of Past Agonies
And take flight into the Sky of Serenity.
Metaphor
white on black contradictions
love pitted against the deepest hatred
a single red rose on a wall of thorns
can you see the aesthetic beauty?
a life viewed through cut-glass lenses

a new perspective thrown your way
dont use one, but all 6 senses
feel-hear-touch-smell-see-taste

white on black contradictions
love pitted against the deepest hatred
a single red rose on a wall of thorns
can you see the aesthetic beauty?
I Miss You
I miss the arms that used to wrap around me
hold me close and kiss me softly
bring me to a safer place
yet knew when to let me have some space

I miss a tender touch and whisper
a soft laugh and a warm embrace
yes...that is how the two of us were
its gone now, a tear in its place

I miss a boy I never knew
who's life was cut short , too soon
before he ever truly lived he died
for him...I am dead inside.
When I Fall
Dangling on the precipice of Insanity,
My consciousness desperately grasping for a hold
A cliffhanger of Society
Who will catch me when I fall?
A dove and a raven swoop at me,
Attempting to drive me to some limit;
Fall to Insane or crawl back to Sanity.
Will you catch me when I fall?
My fingers are slipping, greased with Good Intentions,
My feet flail to find a ledge to stand on.
Independence has gone too far this time;
Now there's no one to catch me,
And I've fallen.
Mental Block
Alter when alteration you find
Skip around the obstacles in your mind
Make up answers and ideas
Ignore the boos, hisses, jeers;
They don't know the reasons for your tears
You cry for the light which is now dead
And all the shadows in your head
Foggy minds and cloudy eyes
Make reality hard to see
Give in to the darkness;
You'll never be free
Alter when alteration you find
Skip around the obstacles in your mind
You cry for the light which is now dead
It makes reality hard to see
Give in to the darkness;
You'll never be free
Let the Little Things Slide
Strip yourself of your possessions
But retain a level of pride
Keep with you all life's lessons
And let the little things slide

These words are arranged to sounds pretty and rhyme
Sometimes the wording seems contrived
But the core meaning is still alive
Look to read between the lines

Strip yourself of your possessions
But retain a level of pride
Keep with you these life lessons
And remember to let the little things slide
Take A Chance
What are you afraid of?
Love and happiness?
What is it you hide from?
A chance for lasting bliss?
you need to learn to trust in me
You have to trust in us
For a week, or eternity
We're blessed with this love
Dont hide from me and run away
Just life is not enough
No matter what, I'm here to stay
What are you afraid of?
Walk Away
how is it that i live without you
god in heavens i dont know
the world is turning faster now
Im getting dizzy
catch me if i fall

touch my face and say goodbye
dont leave me without a final word
if you gotta leave then do it now
begone with you
dont turn around

the road is getting longer behind you
music pulsing sets the tone
the gravel flies
rev the engine
fly baby-dont come home.
Tear Drop
A small oval teardrop,
on a mahogany tabletop.
A golden sheen.
Shining brightly from within,
Nowhere to end, or begin.

A tear full of such emotion,
set by someone into motion.
A tear of sorrow.
Shining brightly from within,
Where to start, where to begin?

The shining drop catches his eye,
And he looks up in mild surprise.
A tear of pain?
Shining brightly from within,
It must stop, but where to begin?

An apology from his hurtful lips,
A gentle touch of angry fingertips.
Another tear falls.
Shining brightly from within,
This trail of tears began with him.
            Untitled(Love)
If I close my eyes and dream
I can see your handsome face
It offers me a piece of mind
       In this wild, crazy place.

The time is flying, racing quickly
And I never would have guessed
That when you wrap your arms around me
Happiness would be mine, at last.

Your smile....What a smile..
        It shines from deep inside
And in your eyes can rage a sea storm
        Or the gently soothing tides.

I've never loved this way before
Nor will I ever love this way again
You and I...We are Forever
It's a game we can't help but win.

I have you to thank for everything
My life, my mind, my soul, my heart
You awakened me to new horizons
The walls I had? You took them apart.

When you hold me, then I'm safe
We have a love thats honest, true.
I wish to God you never let go...
        I Love You.
