Authors Notes: Tokyo Babylon/1999

Chapter One: Writing HTML is a bitch. It isnt hard, or anything, it is just tedious. I think HTML must have been invented by Bill Gates... it is almost as evil as he is, after all.

Anyway, Am I the only one that cringed at this chapter title? What a way to start a story about Subaru and Seishirou, right? I mean, the last time someone started a story like this, it ended up in missing eyes, death, destruction, angst, crazy Subaru, and other fairly unpleasant things.

But anyway, there isnt much else to say about this chapter. The dialogue between Kamui and Subaru is directly transposed from the manga (more or less). I love this scene because Kamui keeps bringing up Seishirou, like a jealous lover. Please understand, I dont like SxK, but I think Kamui pining over Subaru and being pissy with Seishirou is hilarious.

Oh, yes, and Seishirou hates Kamui in this story as yet another turn of tables. Now, Im going to sit back, relax, and let Subaru kick Seishirous ass for a while.

Chapter Two: The title is the same as the opening theme song to X/1999 the tv series. I love this song. Drowning in my dream...

Does anyone recognize the directors chairs scene with the scripts? You should.

Well, I dont know quite why I decided that Fuuma should be in love with Seishirou. I wasnt planning on it when I went into the story, he just decided he was. Not to mention, he decided to be tutored by Seishirou, and to be best friends with Keiichi. O_o; Fuuma is getting weird on me.

Subaru drunk? O_o;

Chapter Three: This title is based on the image song by the same title from Tokyo Babylon. Not only to I love the song, but I also find it rather suiting of this chapter. Is it a crime to say sayonara, so long?

Subaru hung over? O_o;

The glaring thing is all me. I have a friend who knows me so well that he would include something like the glaring comments in a note to me. He answers the phone What do you want? when I call... Oh, well.

Setsuka as Seishirous sister... meh, I couldnt do anything else with her. -_-; The thing about Seishirous mom was my way of explaining why Seishirou (real) would write Seishirou (script) as killing his own mother. Having ones mother die in childbirth can cause some serious mental issues later on.

Seishirou kicks ass in the scene with Kamui. Hes such a devious bastard. I cant believe I actually wrote that scene. I mean, I am not a devious bastard. Not really. But Seishirou completely leads Kamui into breaking up with Subaru. That totally kicks ass.

The break up scene went smoothly. I was surprised. Im an unmitigated bitch when it comes to breakups, so I tried to make Kamui much more gentle than I am. I think I did a fairly good job.

Chapter Four: Image song 2 B in Love was the basis of the title.

Not much to say about this chapter. I hope everyone got the references to Duklyon and Clamp Campus Detectives. For the purposes of this story, assume Seishirou wrote everything that has to do with CLAMP campus. Yuuto says so, more or less.

Ah yes, and I know that Yuuto/Seishirou is weird. Really, really weird. Hey, they do an image CD together... Then again, Subaru and Satsuki doing their image album together, too. Maybe we are meant to combine the two?

Thats really it. I know Keiichis weird, but hell make more sense later on.

***

Chapter Five: Title based off of My Lover, a great song from the Tokyo Babylon image CD. *giggle* Ill try not to laugh every time I read the words My Lover side-by-side.

Yeah, that was my third lemon ever. *blush* give me a little credit for that, at least.

For those of you who don't know, New Years in Japan is HUGE and the tradition is to stay up and watch the sunset with your family or loved ones the way that we Americans go out and party until midnight and then kiss someone when the clock stricks twelve. It's a cool tradition they have, really.

This version of the chapter makes more sense than the abridged version on ff.net by far. Like, it explains why Subaru is so pissed off. I would be pissed off-- royally, even.

That's all I have to say about this one.

***

Chapter 6: The title is "Guilt" based off the image song by the same name.

I wrote one version of this chapter where Seishirou suddenly went all weird on me and it was really good and angsty and dark and then I remembered that I didn't want this story to be angsty and dark and got upset and rewrote the chapter entirely. Now it is pure fluff and silliness with a happy sudden ending. Yea.

I want to go to Okinawa. I thought of sending Subaru there because I was just re-reading Yami no Matsuei, and I got to the Okinawa chapter and thought, "hm, if Hisoka can put up with it, anyone else would love it". Though, Hisoka does have problems with the heat and Tsuzuki has to come to the rescue. ^^

***

Chapter Seven: The title is named after a song that always makes me think of the Sumeragi twins for some reason-- "Strength". I think the song sorta represents the bond they have and the strength they find in eachother.

This chapter will likely be darker again, and it will focus more on the family situations than on the romantic side of things. But, I think it will be interesting. More on Keiichi and his involvement in this chapter.

See you next update.
