Hi everybody! Imagine that was said by that character on Simpsons, whose name eludes me right now. Anyway, exams were eventful and Larry's Party was eventful. Grr to my exams, I wanted to do well but I don't think that'll be happening. English if my teacher won't be so picky. French; I can't believe I messed up the faire causatif again! Admin.; my gosh how could I have forgotten the factors of production. SHAME!!!!! Moving on.....

Like my picture? It's from my Dec. 28 expedition downtown. It's so much nicer in black and white than colour. Or if you'd like the tree up close ->
Haha! It's cute, right?

Okay, so...Larry's Party was quite an adventure. I was excited to see as you know Brent Carver and Susan Gilmour again. The modern context was new too; it was interesting, him without his beard as Tevye and her without her lovely blonde wig as Fantine. I'd truthfully say that some of the plot was lost on me but the cast was superb! Another Stratford person was in it; Barbara Barsky who was Golde to Brent's Tevye. She was amazing and sweet as Charlotte. Michelle Fisk was hilariously funny as Midge; especially during Dot's Amazing Beans. The whole cast was wonderful but I can't (I apologize) remember the name of the rest of the cast. Ugh. I have to remember at least one more...wait, I've got it, Julain Molnar who was Beth and got a nice big kiss with Brent. Though I'd still say Susan and Brent were the most cute together. The guy that was the son had an amazing voice, he's gotta do something big one day, that voice of his rocks! Hmm, let's see, funny moments. Brent holding an eggplant (I think) in one part down there that is unmentionable and having quite the amount of fun. The scene with Dot's Amazing Beans got me going even though he and Midge were poking fun at his mother. Larry's Penis was another good one. And for some quotes:

I'm sure there were funnier ones but these are the only ones I could remember. Other memorable moments include Part of Me and its first reprise by the son. So touching especially the reprise which got me crying. I admit, yes I was crying. Other quotes contain too much swear words that I would not consider typing them but the one by Susan near the beginning was said with so much enthusiasm and zeal! BTW, the set was very effective. It was simple but nice. I'll draw a picture and put it up in my next entry. My attempt at trying to draw it using MS Paint wasn't fruitful. I can't help having trouble controlling the mouse.

It was packed that day, mostly with seniors, whom I guess could identify more with the journey of understanding life concept. I'm sorta kicking myself for not attending that after performance question and answer discussion but I didn't feel comfortable around all those other older people. I was intimidated besides, I had nothing interesting to say. I enjoyed my subway ride back but I'm mad that Front St. was so packed else I would've taken some great pictures of the buildings. There were some great shots I could've captured. Grr! Otherwise it was a nice experience. I think my next theatre expedition will be The Full Monty or Les Miserables in Kitchener or Stratford. I just can't wait! The play's the thing!

My last little discussion will be figure skating, another of my passions. Since I missed the exhibition from the Canadian Figure Skating Championships last weekend, I was glad that I had a chance to see the repeat. I love Jamie Sale and David Pelletier's exhibition program like I loved their Love Story long program from last year. They skated to La Vie en Rose though I'm not sure if it was the version by Edith Piaf, I just couldn't tell. And I'm probably the only person who would try to figure out which version it was. I'm probably the only person who has an opinion on which version of The Nutcracker I like better (as my English teacher said.) I've seen two versions; the Balanchine version made into a movie with Macauley Culkin and the Kudelka version performed by the National Ballet of Canada. I prefer the Balanchine one. Now. back to Jamie and David. Now, I've heard that they are a couple off the ice too and when they rubbed noses like cute little lovers during the program, I was like awwww. For this one as well, CTV miked David and so you could hear whatever he said during the program which most of the time was really cute. Like when Jamie did the throw jump perfectly or was it the twist, anyway, he was like Good girl! They're so cute. I can't wait for the Worlds. I also like Fedor Andreev but I'll ramble about him in my next entry mayhap. I guess this has been enough to entertain you or bore you. Until next time!
