The Park can be reached from Ambon, the Maluku provincial capital, and Ambon is served from Jakarta via Denpasar and Ujung Pandang by jets of Garuda Indonesia Airways three times daily. From Ambon to Ceram (Wahai) visitors must take one of the regular boats twice weekly, and or to Tehoru several times weekly. The journey from Ambon to Wahai is about 35 hours, and from Ambon to Tehoru about 15 hours. The best time to travel is during the months from August to November when the sea is at its calmest and boats are more regular due to the clovesharvesting season.
