The Strength to Move On
Sometimes we must seem like a wreck
The house is never cleaned,
The laundry is slow to get done
And there are days when people are mad
Days where people’s crying needs to be met with love
Sometimes it must look like we are lost
You must look down and see a battle
A battle to survive, and battle to live
You notice how it is rare we are together
Sis at the movies, me playing ball
Mom out walking with the dog
This group just always seems to be apart
There are days when sadness hits us hard
Days when memories of what once was sting clear
Days where you can see mom’s sorrow
Days where you can feel sister’s anger
The pain is in all of us
These days must be tough to watch
Yet…
Through everything…
We move on
And though you’ve been gone for a while now
You’re with us every day
Your strength has kept us moving on
Your wisdom has kept us sane
It is through you we live our lives
And with you our love will stay
