| "Dissonance in Discourse" (7/15/01, Sun., started about 11 pm, finished 12:03 am--but my clock is about 10-15 mins. fast ) kind of an off-tempo waltz (yes, it's another poem/song) The words don't flow easily from my mouth anymore. They stumble and trip down ivory stairs. My lips and my tongue can't agree on the tempo and simply go slack, but quickly pull back at the wrong time. Skin is tight, lips are numb. Sounds arrive, tho' they don't always jive with the meaning behind-- the words in my head they are said in nonsensical phrases and patterns and clearity seems not to be my forte today. |
| Hooray for blank stares and questioning gazes as voice skips ahead confusing the list'ner. Mind runs endlessly on but the tongue it can't follow and darts in and out of the story. Retracing steps the mind then runs backwards looking for the place of delay. Always just a bit out of sync the rhumba is randomly disco-ed instead. Traveling Traveling Traveling on the piece is said but the meaning is gone. |
