Rainbow Alliance of Northwestern University presents Rainbow Week 2003, a week of events that promote awareness, understanding, and dialogue of issues surrounding gender and sexuality in the Northwestern community.

Rainbow Alliance extends its gratitude to this year's Rainbow Week sponsors:

Keynote speaker Kate Bornstein, is a transgendered writer, activist, and performance artist whose published works include the books Gender Outlaw: On Men, Women and the Rest of Us; My Gender Workbook; and the cyber-romance-action novel, Nearly Roadkill with co-author Caitlin Sullivan. Hir plays and performance pieces include Hidden: A Gender, The Opposite Sex Is Neither, Virtually Yours, Cut'n'Paste, and y2kate: gender virus 2000. Kate's books are taught in over 120 colleges and universities around the world; and ze has performed hir work live on college campuses, and in theaters and performance spaces across the USA, as well as in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Austria. All are invited to attend the reception with Kate after the speech.

STOP the HATE Workshop

This interactive workshop will help participants undertand the differences between hate crimes and bias incidents and gain knowledge around the issues of hate crimes in order to act as effective allies. Jenn Fullick of Campus Activities and Mark Manderino of Greek Life will present the program at 4:00pm in the Ohio State Room at Norris
