I made this sewing roll to test out some simple motifs I designed. It has a very rustic look that I like. It was only afterwards that I realised some treasured antique metal buttons would be perfect for this roll. The large metal button with the holes came from my first secret sister stash (thank you Sherry D) the button is antique and very lovely. The others are also antique well over 50years. In the bottom corner where the candle is theres a piece of an old favorite flannel night dress I owed that after many washes and wears finally gave up the ghost. It was too sad even to cut it up LOL.I have a heap of it left over that I intend to make into a CQ bear with some of my old denimn jeans. |

| Farside: Sewing roll folded up. Inside of sewing roll. I did not enjoy doing the inside or making up the roll. I cant do plain sewing and it always ends up looking like the dogs dinner. Which the inside does. However the idea works which is fine with me. The heart is a pocket which is also lightly stuffed to use as a pin and needle keep the heart pocket is for a thimble. The other pocket is for threads and such. |
