The sunlight soaked into JC’s skin as he closed his eyes and lifted his face to the sky. It was absolutely gorgeous here. He had just come from a massage, and he was free until tomorrow. So he had decided to lie out on his balcony, basking in the sunlight. This was the kind of thing he didn’t get to do all the time because he was famous, and he missed it. JC had dozens of songs running through his head, but he didn’t want to get up to write them down. For once, he felt like the obligation to be creative was diminished. And it was so relaxing to just lie there. He could do it forever.
Lance woke up in his own bed, with his own pillows and his own blankets, and his choice of colours on the wall. He was in his own house, in the state he’d grown up in, and he felt like lying in bed all day. Instead, he sat up against the headboard and reached for his glasses that lay on the nightstand. He sat like that with his eyes closed for a few moments, but then turned on the television before setting out to shower. He flipped on CNN, a channel that no one else let him watch, but after watching for only a minute, he got up to shower, turning off the TV. It felt so good to do things his way for once.
Chris hadn’t gone to sleep all night. First he had rode his bike all over the city, until he was tired of the wind whipping him in the face and curling his breath into streaks of white. When he got home, he set up his television to play movie after movie, and sat in front of it like the middle-aged person he was, all night, drinking beer and watching movies. And now, today, he was going to sleep until about 3:00 and go into the office, and see how Dani was doing with his business. He couldn’t wait to start being involved again; it would be just like it was when he had started it all.
Justin fell asleep holding Britney in his arms. He had gone straight from his tour bus to hers, and he couldn’t even remember how long ago that was now. All he knew was that he was having a great time being the pop star with no appointments to keep. He could do whatever he wanted, as long as it was all right with his girlfriend. And he didn’t mind seeing her show so many times. She was so talented, and he was so lucky to have a woman like that to love him.
Joey sat in the middle of his mom’s living room floor, with his daughter sitting in front of him. He smiled at her as she tried to pick up a ball off the floor, and lifted her into his lap. His mom came into the room and sat down on the couch, where his dad was already sitting. They smiled at each other, and then at their son and grandbaby. It was good to have Joey home again. They just didn’t realize that he was thinking about staying indefinitely.
