THE
RAINBOWGRLZ MISSION
Rainbowgrlz is an email list community dedicated to those interested in
broadening their social circle and meeting other lesbians in the DE /
Philly and surrounding areas. The list also serves as an information exchange
network for events and issues that might be of interest to local lesbians.
| While we are a social group, we are NOT a dating service, nor do we have a political agenda. We do not look kindly on trolling for dates or sex. Political discussions are welcome, but are expected to be conducted with maturity and civility. |

We add only one thing to the usual "rules" of netiquette: we ask that you sign your posts with your name or nickname and your location.
WEBSITES
The Rainbowgrlz web space includes a calendar,
a group of relevant links (to the William Way Center
in Philly, the Delaware Lesbians Potluck page, etc.), and a web page of
businesses run by rainbowgrlz so we can get the work
done well and keep the money in the family. These pages are available
only to group members.
To reach the Rainbowgrlz pages, you will need a yahoo ID. You don't have to use it for anything else if you don't want to.

We do offer a digest option because of the high volume of emails we sometimes get on the list. The digest rolls up a days worth of e-mail and sends them out in a single message. There is only one digest per day, and it's going to be BIG.
You can switch between digest and single e-mails option at any point by logging into rainbowgrlz at Yahoo!Groups and changing your settings.
You also have a third option of reading the messages on the web. To do this, log into rainbowgrlz at Yahoo!Groups and select "Messages." You can also go directly to the messages page.
POLICIES &
GUIDELINES
We don't like rules but we realize that to run a list of this size, they
are sorely needed. We are listing guidelines that we've found on nearly
every email list on the Internet.
1. No spam
(i.e., no chain-letters, no petitions, no advertisements unrelated to
the group's local purpose, no virus warnings, no mass joke e-mails, no
junk mail). A good guideline to follow? Don't forward anything to the
list that's been forwarded to you.
2.
Absolutely NO flaming.
You may debate an "idea." You may NOT attack a list member.
The difference between debating and flaming is the personal nature of
the statements. "I don't agree that..." and "it's been
my experience that..." with an opposite viewpoint is debating. "You're
crazy if you think that..." along with name calling and other such
tactics is flaming.
3.
NO CROSS-POSTING!
Anything that is posted on this list is to be treated WITH CONFIDENTIALITY.
You may NOT FORWARD LIST MAIL TO ANYONE OFFLIST without the express permission
of the author. You may NOT include rainbowgrlz in any mass-mailing.
Any post that is sent to the list should be addressed ONLY to rainbowgrlz.
You MAY post notices interest to multiple lists on each list. For the
benefit of all who subscribe to more than one list, please use the same
subject and include (Xposted) on the subject line so we can read it once.
4.
No attachments
(no pictures, movies, music, and/or programs). Do not post to the group
anything that reads .exe, .mid, .jpg, .gif, .bmp. If you wish to post
something to show to the group, please post the URL, upload the file to
the rainbowgrlz file area on Yahoo!Groups or offer to send it to people
offlist. If you have something you wish to post that you're unsure of,
please ask us first. Such attachments (called "binaries") show
up as a large block of "p4=0m0n9pin;khklayt85bto8O" in the digest
version and can render a digest unreadable. Please be considerate of others
and send your posts in plain text without attachments.
5.
No quoting of entire previous message.
Copy and paste only what you need to respond to, and delete the rest.
6. No illegal activities.
7. No Men. No straight women.
8. No sexually explicit emails.
Your cooperation and adherence to these policies will help to make the list enjoyable for yourself and others.
