Care
Here are some features of my program:
PRESCHOOL PROGRAM - I use a preschool program called Funshine Express, plus many ideas of my own. I work with the children to get them ready for Kindergarten. We work on recognizing numbers, letters, colors and shapes. If they are ready we work on writing letters and numbers. We sing songs, learn nursery rhymes and fingerplays. We have a daily storytime - I read lots of books to the kids. We have show and tell once a week and this really helps the children to learn their full name and learn to be able to stand up in front of the other children and talk.
PLAYTIME: I give the children plenty of time to have free play. I feel the children learn from playing together, and they learn to share. We also go outside every day, weather permitting.
STORYTELLER: I have a Storyteller come to the daycare once a month to entertain the children. She tells stories and puts on plays with the children, including costumes. She does magic and science projects with the children and does face painting on each child.
OTHER VISITORS: Other people I have brought in to entertain and teach the children include: clown (showed the kids how she put her make-up on and made balloon hats for them to take home), Fire Marshall with his fire truck, and Santa.
COMMUNITY SERVICE: I have the children be involved in Community Service activities such as food drives, and park clean-ups.
