MY STAND
In my years of observing and passively participating in the political system, I've been through different levels of apathy and hopelessness; which seems to be the overall condition of the American people nowadays.  Even the mention of politics brings disenfranchisement and hostility.  It seems to have become habitual to accept lies without second guessing, and the truth seems to be lingering behind the storm cloud of greed, which fogs up our perception of common sense.  In becoming more aware of the truth, I've concluded that I can no longer accept the way of apathy and the devotion to greed.  Although I may not be able to personally stop the mentality of world domination, it would be negligent on my part not to speak my mind and take a stand for the truth.  I will raise my voice so that I may be heard by open ears, and I refuse to fall prey to the chaos of mind control through media propaganda.  I will not think what others want me to..."Do not model yourselves on the behavior of the world around you, but let your behavior change, modeled by your new mind . . ." (Romans 12:2, JB) ...I will not deny the truth..."You must keep to what you have been taught and know to be   true. . ." (2 Timothy 3:14, JB) ...for my mind is something that cannot be taken away from me.  We must speak our minds!

Through personally seeking out the truth and analyzing the system, I've become aware of the violation of our rights, and the self-centered intentions behind the manipulation for power through the government and the "Police State".  Through witnessing this disgusting reality, I can't help questioning my faith in this country and I feel sickened to see the lack of ethic morals that I thought would not be denied.  Our freedom and our rights seem to be slowly slipping through our fingers without hardly noticing, and we seem to be unconsciously submitting to a society that revolves around those with the largest bank accounts. It no longer seems to matter what anyone's ideals are about, or how important and relevant their ideas may be to improving our way of life.  These are the people that tend to get ignored by the beurocracy because they do not fit in with this system of greed.

Many incidents have proven the unfair practices of our governmental bodies and definition of justice.  When we have risen up to protest against an unfair issue, that we as informed people disagree with, we end up getting tear-gassed, abused and arrested for speaking the truth.  Other examples would include every time property is searched and seized illegally; without resonable cause, or throwing non-violent "criminals" in jail for decades longer than sex offenders,  murderers and other violent criminals (all of which our tax money is being used to support).  Our constitutional right to bear arms  is currently being violated, making armed citizens out to be a bunch of ignorant, backwoods militants, leaving those who confiscate our weapons with the most power.  I find it very sad that the government does not seem to care about our well-being as American people, but only about their personal power.  They are making new laws that are trampling over our freedom, instead of reinforcing the laws that already exist which are meant "to serve and protect."

It's baffling to me to see the lack of responsibility for the earth which is our home and our childrens home, and the lack of respect for future generations.  We are overlooking the consequences of our actions against everything our survival as the human race depends on.  We have become like pawns in a chess game for we are not stepping up to take a stand and we are getting suckered into a way of living that may not have been our original ideals, yet we have no other example.  Besides that, this society does not allow us to live a different way than they want us to without being oppressed.  And if we did step out of the boundaries of this system we would not get equal respect or be made sure that we had food and were taken care of, let alone would we find other means of sustenance, without the experience or know-how of using other resources.  We have become dependant on and trapped under the control of the powerful and monopolizing economy of corporate industry.

I can no longer be a silent witness to the unjust, power hungry system of greed that we are all trapped in, nor can I stomach the ruthless raping of this planet, when we should be living in balance with instead of dominating it--as though it's something to conquer to reassure our power.  After all, we are only borrowing the earth from our grandchildren, hopefully leaving it better than we found it. We have forgotten the fact that we are all equal human beings that are here for the same ultimate purpose, no matter how deep our pockets are.  We are all still learning how to live on this planet in the best possible way, yet we are neglecting to learn from our mistakes, and leaving a mess for our children and our children's children to clean up.

I truly wish that people would not be afraid to stand up for the truth, and take action against the oppression that continually intensifies.  It is important to remember that actions speak louder than words.  We have ears for a reason so that the voices who speak up will be heard.  May we no longer be victims of the battle for power but find the strength to rise up from the insanity, and take our stand for the future of our country.
