| Once there lived a Jade King in Heaven. One day, the Jade King ordered his advisor to come down to the earth and summoned all animals for a racing competition to Heaven. There the best friends, the Rat, Cat and Ox immediately started the journey while the rest of the animals were confidence that they would managed to beat the Rat and friends. In order to reach the Heaven they had to cross a deep river. The Ox suggested that the Rat and Cat climbed at his back so they could reached there safely. While half way crossing the river, the Rat worried that the Cat might run faster than him once they reached the Heaven. He suddenly pushed the Cat into the river. When they reached the Heaven, the Rat ran as fast as he could and was graded as the first animal to meet the Jade King followed by the Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. That is why until today, rats and cats become enemy. Jade King was surprised that the Dragon did not make it to be the first to arrive since he was able to fly. The Dragon explained that on his way to Heaven, he was stopped by helping a village which suffered from drought by carrying the water from the sea. |
