| On the night of June 10th, 1912, 6 children and 2 adults were brutally murdered. J.B. Moore, his wife, their 4 children, and 2 neighbors were slain in their sleep with an axe. The murders go on unsolved, but their memory will forever live in the house. You can check out the official Villisca Axe Murder House website at www.villiscaiowa.com. Many different people believe many different things on why they think the murders occured. My belief is that the state senator at the time (F.F. Jones) had hired the murders to be done because JB was having an affair with his daughter. No one will ever really know the real reason, but feel free to make your own accquisations. The people that currently own the house are offering a day-time tour for $10, candlelit tour for $15, and an overnight stay for $50. All proceeds go towards restoring the house back to its original state. Become a part of it and stay overnight, if you can handle it. It is a very restless place where the family's spirits still run from the killers, night after night. It has been inspected by numerous paranormal investigators and they have proven unusual activity. I myself have had quite the experience in the house. I have been touched by something that wasn't there. There were voices on the audio tape that we didn't hear. And there was an uneasy feeling when you stepped foot inside the house. So please, if you get a chance, check it out. Book your tour.
