I'll tell you a few of my interests and a bit of "bio" data? We'll see if it sparks some interest or totally bores you out of your tree. I started out by being born (duh!). My dad was a jet fighter pilot in the Air Force, so we moved around a lot when I was young. I went to 12 schools before I graduated from HS. We lived a lot of places in the US, but also in Tripoli, Libya and in Zaragoza, Spain. I had the opportunity to travel over a good bit of Western Europe. I hope I can get to continue traveling but not moving very many more times. I love camping, hiking in the mountains, biking, canoeing, sailing, and flying (have a single-engine airplane pilot's license but haven't been up in a long time due to the high cost). I love being in the mountains, on the beach, beside or on any kind of water, and also in the woods. I like to bowl and play softball, volleyball, horseshoes, and tennis, but don't much care to watch sports on tv. I like science and nature, psychology, history, philosophy and geology. I have been trained in video production, and produced a cable tv program for one year. I started and ran a non-profit "family advocacy" organization for two years. I am a minister of healing, having taken an eight-month ministerial course that included hands-on healing, aromatherapy, accupressure, meditation, Kabala, herbalism, and many other subjects. I am president of the BOD of our healing group, which is called Realm of Light. I learned to read before I was 4, and have been fascinated by books ever since. I read a lot whenever I have the time. Favorite authors include James Michener, Len Deighton, Tom Clancy, Herman Wouk, Tom Robbins, Roger Zelazny, Richard Adams, Richard Bach, WEB Griffin, James Clavel, Ken Follett, Kurt Vonnegut, John le Carre, Leon Uris and A.J. Cronin, to list a few. If you are not familiar with any of these authors, I could tell you about some things they have written, if you want. And music. Music has been one of my very special interests all my life. My favorite is classical music: Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, and Bach are among my favorite composers. I also love New Age music, Celtic, Irish, Gregorian chant, and 60's and 70's music such as the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, Eagles, Jim Croce, Chris de Burg, Jackson Browne, Eric Clapton, Queen, and the Byrds, to name a few. I also like almost any other kind of music in fairly small doses, except rap which I don't think is really music, and I don't care much for c&w. I believe in being loving and peaceful; violence and hatred are no ways to accomplish anything and are not part of an adult approach to dealing with problems. I am not violent with anyone else and do not feel anyone should have to tolerate violence in their lives. I try to live my life without harming anyone, and try to help people whenever I can. I believe that one of the things we are to accomplish while we are here is to learn to love better, and that we are supposed to be practicing that by loving our co-workers and neighbors and every person we come across. The only ones I have trouble with most days are people who are rude and dangerous in their cars. My present situation: I live in Tampa, FL with my two children, ages 14 and 17. I've had custody of them since 1992, and it's generally been a good time for the three of us. I work as a computer programmer, a job I like pretty well most of the time. We are buying a 10-room house in a fairly quiet part of the city. I have a little garden on the side of the house with flowering plants and succulents and am also trying to grow a blackberry plant. We have a wonderful grapefruit tree that gives lots of excellent fruit each year. My kids have 3 cats, which I tolerate with as much good humor as I can. We have two computers and a fairly new car. We all collect collect rocks and crystals, and I collect postage stamps. I am a romantic and affectionate person, enjoy snuggling and holding hands at lot. I give lots of massages (and practice aromatherapy along with massage) and I like snuggling on the couch to watch videos together, moonlight strolls on the beach, candlelight dinners and romantic movies. Although I am "forty-something," I am very young for my age, and most people think I am in my early or middle 30's. My father and both grandfathers always looked very young for their age, too, and so I suppose that's one reason why I do. Also I think young, if you know what I mean. That should certainly be enough to give you an idea who I am and possibly trigger some conversation topics, and that you'll want to write to me and tell me lots of things about yourself. Hope it didn't just put you to sleep. Hello? Hello? :)
