About three months after I was ordained, the leader of the healing group "Realm of Light", Neda Lutgen by name, announced that she was closing the center and moving to Vermont. The group was shocked, as we had somehow thought that this healing center would be here forever. We minsters began to plan how we would continue the healing ministry. As soon as the center closed, we began holding a healing circle at the house of one of the ministers, and soon found a community center meeting room we could use. We asked for a name for the group to use, and the name that was given to me was "Realm of Light" and the group voted to accept that name without further discussion. Four of us were elected to the board of directors, myself being honored to be selected to serve as president of the board. We chartered the church as a non-profit organization, and have held our healing circle every week since that time. We also have Reiki healing servcies two Fridays a month. We have sponsored numerous other events. I have facilitated two new moon ceremonies (I think they were AWESSOME!) and a chanting/meditation group. We have sponsored other classes, including Feng Shui, Herbology, and Personal Growth. For most of the past 2 years, three minsters have taken turns leading the service, with Rev. Dave conducting the closing circle. Now we have 5 ministers who take turns leading the service. We have anywhere between 12 and 30 people attending the service, with 15-20 being the usual norm. We have a short message, a cleansing seremony, a guided meditation, then 1 hour of healing, during which the ministers go around to each person sitting in the chairs and administer hands-on healing. Usually everyone gets 2 to 3 healings. After the hour of healing, we have the closing ceremony, where we bring down light, complete our healing, send it to those who could not be present but requested healing, and send healing to the earth.
