I had been attending the healing circle at "Angelic Realm" and "Road to Enlightenment" for at least 3 years when I was finally led to sign up for the Ministerial course. It was eight months long and cost several hundred dollars, so it was a major decision for me. But one that I have never regretted. The first few weeks of the course were devoted entirely to Hands- On Healing. The main text for this part of the course was the book --Hands of Light-- by Barbara Ann Brennan. Ms. Brennan was trained as a classical scientist, and treats the field of healing as it were a scientific subject, but she is very thourough and explains the human energy field and healing very well. After six weeks of training, we were allowed (and encouraged) to practice our skills by participating as healers at the weekly healing circles. I found this to be a blessing, and participated in almost every healing circle for the rest of the time the "Road to Enlightenment" healing center was open. After we had completed the classes on hands-on healing, we began to study other healing modalities. One such subject we covered, and one that I took to quite readily, was aromatherapy. I as we studied this healing modality, I began investing heavily in essential oils. As I have loved giving massages for most of my life, AT was a lovely addition to my knowledge, for it enhances the massage experience greatly. I have also built an AT and Essential Oil database to assist me in using the oils for healing. I make my own scents, and have had a lot of success in healing my family with the oils. Another subject we studied, which resonated with my spirit very deeply, was Kabala (Cabbalah, Qabala, other spelling variations). For those who don't know, Kabala is a system of understanding the universe, a system based on ancient secret Hebrew teachings. Kabalists say that Moses was given two sets of teachings, one for the "common" person, and also the Kabala, which was for the upper echelon. Kabala was a secret teaching until very recently, when it was decided that the planet had reached a pre-ordained level of spiritual growth, and (like many other esoteric teachings around the world) it is now time for everyone to have access to it. When I saw Kabala on the course syllabus I did not expect this to be a subject I would find of great interest. Was I ever surprised. We also studied Tarot, astrology, accupressure, Qigong, Tai Chi, meditation, Merkaba, Ascension, Hydrotherapy, Sound and Toning therapy, color therapy, Breathwork, channeling, and many other healing/spiritual modalities. The very last weeks of the course covered specifically "pastoral" services: weddings, house blessings, cleansings, and other servcies; hospital and convalescent care, spiritual counseling, and the like. The course I enrolled in ran from January through September, 1998, and our group was ordained in October, 1998, during a beautiful service which the group designed.
