Sum of All Fears
A nuclear armed Israeli plane is shoot down over Syria, and a terrorist group gets their hands on it.  With the help of a German physicist, the terrorist are able to fix and improve on the the bomb.  Just as the bomb is becoming viable, Jack Ryan, the current Deputy Director, Intelligence for the CIA is working with the Vatican to form a plan for peace in the Middle East.  The terrorist hear about it and don't like it.  So they smuggle the bomb to Denver during a Super Bowl and detonate it.  At the same time, fool the Russians into attacking the US troops in Berlin.  Why?  To start a war, a nuclear war between the US and Russia.
Personal Review:

This is not one of Clancy's best works, but it isn't too bad.  This book was written right at the time the Gulf War took place.  Clancy very effectively works that into the story and make a believable scenario.  And it not only makes Jack Ryan a hero, but he effectively saves the world.
Not my first choice for Clancy, but if you like or love Clancy, it is a must.
