Good News Week (GNW) is on Sunday Evenings, 7:30pm - 8:30pm to Channel 10. It is a comical gameshow, which looks satirically at the recent Australian and world news. It is based on the British TV show 'Have I got news for you' . The host, Paul McDermott, asks the two teams, captained by Mikey Robins and Julie McCrossin, questions about current news events.
The show starts off with Paul giving a monologue on some of the recent news events. The monologue ends by Paul saying "and that's the good news". Then the theme song plays. After the theme song is played you are taken back to Paul, who is now sitting behind a desk. He introduces each team. Then round one begins. Round one is 'What's the story?'. After Round one each team shows their 'strange but true' clues. Round two consists of 3 sub-rounds. There are many different rounds. Different rounds are played each week. Round three is 'Strange but true'. After this the winning team is announced and Paul makes a final comment, usually related to his monologue at the beginning and the credits begin to roll.
However GNW does not have any prizes. The point scores are rigged. The main aim is not to see who knows the most about the recent news events but who can make the funniest comment.
