The more comments I get the more a just itch to write!
Elisa shoved the leash of Puck's chains to Lexington and chased after Goliath back to the rooftop where Demona had started the madness around them. "Watch him for me would ya? Goliath! We need to chain her. . ."
"I haven't had this much fun in some time! Her requests are just vague enough to play with."
The smallest gargoyle turned and blinked at him, "What?"
"And she gets worked up so easily!"
"You turned our friend into a Gargoyle." The little gargoyle looked at him in annoyance. "You thought that was fun?"
"Her exact words were. . ." He made his voice the perfect likeness of Demona's, "'Get rid of THAT human.' or was it that HUMAN. . . ah well, emphasis is so important in giving correct orders isn't it."
"She wanted you to kill her."
"She didn't say that." He singsonged.
"You saved Elisa's life!"
"Elisa. . . Ah yes." The white haired farie smiled close to a grin but still a smile, "The beauty to his beast."
"Huh?"
Sparkling eyes turned to him and the prince of mischief's smile became softer, "I keep forgetting that you missed so many years." He nodded, "It's a story. A book."
"I can read now." He smiled, forgetting his animosity easily, "A little bit at least. Elisa is teaching me."
"I can get the book for you."
"Really?!" He caught himself and bit his lip, displaying his fangs rakishly without even meaning to, "I mean. . . if you would. . . but I might. . . uh. . . have trouble. Reading a whole book."
"I can help you."
"You?"
"The Owen me. I'd be glad to help."
"Owen. . . Xanatos' Owen?!"
The farie blinked in confusion and then grinned broadly, "Oops."
"You are. . ."
"Don't tell anyone ok?" He looked anxious for the first time. "I'm not supposed to be here."
"Doesn't Xanatos. . ."
"Yes, he does but he's the only one. He chose Owen over anything in the world. Interesting guy." Puck floated beside the shortest Gargoyle for a moment in thought, then looked back at him. "So, can I help you? We could have lovely time."
Lexington, even in his naïveté and easy friendship, knew enough to be skeptical about an offer like that from a third race in chains. "So why would you do that for me?"
"I like you."
"Me?"
"You're different from the other gargoyles. They seem lost in the past. Using brute strength and ancient memories to live in the now. You though. . . you use knowledge. You learn and want to learn more. and you still manage to be a fun guy ta be around." He floated upside down and looked the smallest right in the eyes, "Plus you can hold the Owen thing against me if I try anything right?"
"But you. . . I. . . You really see all of that in me?"
"Yeah. I swear on Ophilia's brazier!"
"Um. . . ok."
"Great!" Puck grinned, "Oh and Lex?"
"Huh?"
"You look totally lickable as a human."
"What?!"
"Lexington! Goliath's got 'er chained, we're gonna make the humans human again!"
"I'm coming Broadway!" He blushed and faced the captive farie man again. "Don't. . . don't say things like that ok?"
"Why not? They're true."
"No they're not. I'm nothing special. Come on. The clan is calling."
Puck smiled and floated behind the small beast happily.
His Owen side was too proper to act on his impulses, but maybe now he'd
do something about them.
<Part 2a>
They all returned to the clock tower just in time
for sunrise and Lexington felt a great deal of disappointment that he wouldn't
be able to read with Owen that night. He hoped the human side of the farie
would remember his promise. The olive gargoyle let his stone sleep flow
over him, his mind full of hope of a new friend, and new knowledge.
_______________
Owen remembered. He remembered all to keenly. The blond man lay in bed and stared at the ceiling of his suite in Xanatos Inc. HQ and frowned. //Me and my impulse decisions.// He thought with annoyance. //It is hard enough not to act on my desires when the little one isn't around. With him coming here to learn. . . maybe he won't. Maybe he'll realise it's too risky.// He sighed. //No, this is Lexington remember. He would never give up a chance at knowledge.//
The disguised farie rolled onto his side and made a small motion with his hands, bringing up a viewing window of the clock tower and zooming in on the smallest of the stone sleepers. //He looks almost childlike compared to his friends.// He touched the image and whispered. "Come away oh stolen child to the waters and the wild with a farie hand in hand. From this world more full of weeping than you may understand."
Then before he could doubt the sanity of his idea,
he closed his eyes and let the spell slip over him and his little Lexington.
//Let's see if Gargoyles can dream.//
_______________
And dream they did! Lexington's dreams were a clutter with interesting things he'd seen and dreamt up and in the midst of it all the olive gargoyle lay in a second sleep. //So they sleep in stone to heal, and sleep in dreams to rest.// He knelt on the fur pallet and ran a pale, slim hand over the gargoyle's brow ridges. //So very warm for a being of stone.// "Lex." Puck smiled and blew a soft breeze over the gargoyle's mouth. "Wake up."
"Huh?" Those coal black eyes opened blearily and took him in with only passing interest.
"Up." He grinned and teased a hand under the creature's loincloth "And up and up and up."
"Woah! What are you doing?!"
"Getting to know you better man." His grin never wavered and he dipped in to lick the darling fang that was peaking out over Lexington's lower lip. //Lip. . . hm. . . do Gargoyles really have lips? Are Lex's lips or a beak? They taste good regardless. I think I'll have another.//
Lexington gasped and for a moment moved closer before he realized what he was doing, "Wait!"
Puck pouted and watched him carefully. "You don't want to play?"
"You aren't a dream. I know what dreams feel like." He accused, "What did you do?!"
Puck shook his head, "I didn't do anything to you. Just dream slipped into your dreams. I wanted to see you again. We never did finish our talk."
"Our t. . . What does that have to do with your hand being on my. . ."
"Showing you how lickable you are."
"Don't SAY that! The clan doesn't allow relations like these! Not when we're so few. And I'm NOT li. . . lic. . . I'm not even handsome. I'm too short. . ."
"Bitsized." He grinned and nipped one of the heated nipples to demonstrate.
"Ah! I. . . my coloring is too dull. . ."
"I happen to find it very entrancing."
"M. . . ahhh! Stop that!"
The farie pulled his hand from where it had been squeezing the gargoyle's ass and smiled sheepishly.
"My tail is too long for my body." He finished and watched Puck carefully.
"I think your tail is just right. There are all kinds of interesting things to do with a long tail."
"I told you the clan. . ."
"Isn't here right now." He sang with mischief in his eyes.
"They will be there when I wake up!"
"Then we'll just keep it a secret."
"Keep what a secret?"
"Our romantic interludes of course!"
"We haven't HAD and romantic interludes!"
"We haven't?!" The white haired man grinned, "Well that has got to be taken care of then!"
"Wha. . . Eep!" He yelped when the slim hand found proof of his interest in the farie and began to fondle the hard member without mercy. "I d. . . ooh. . ." He bit his lip and closed his eyes as wonderful feelings course through his skin and made his hips arch toward the farie's questing hands.
"You make such lovely sounds." He blinked their clothes away and watched Lex try to hide himself. "Don't cover up. You're perfect." He licked his way up one toned leg to where the large hands were trying to preserve some kind of modesty. His tongue slipped between the olive green fingers and the gargoyle moaned and his hands fell away. Puck tasted the salty shaft and mushroom head, memorizing every bit of it, then slipped in into his mouth and down his throat until his lips hugged the hairless base of it. Then he began to swallow deep, contracting his muscles around the captured flesh.
"Puck. . . Gods!. . . MmnnnAhh!"
He slid back and smiled, "Not yet little one. I want you to come while I'm inside you."
"In. . . Inside?"
"It will feel wonderful." He slipped a slick finger in and Lex gasped and let his head fall to the furs, "I promise."
"Huhuhuhuhuh more. Oh! Oh Gods please!"
"You beg so prettily." He slid two fingers inside and scissored them, rubbing over the tiny nub that made his beast scream so nicely.
"AHHHH!"
"Almost ready lovely. Almost there."
"I. . . I need. . . what do I need? I feel so. . ."
"Empty?"
"Yes! Empty. So Empty. I need. . ."
The soft farie man smiled tenderly and placed his hard cock at the gargoyle's pleading entrance. "Is this what you need?"
"Please!"
In one swift push he was inside that warm, hard body. The farie gasped and almost bent his gargoyle in two as he thrust. His hair fell long and soft around both of their faces and trapped them in their own world. The panting lips called for a kiss and Puck answered them in spades. They rode together, faster and harder toward completion, never letting go of the kiss until finally they both screamed, lips still locked together, and came hard and long until they both collapsed on the furs in sated exhaustion.
"That. . . that was. . ." Lexington panted harshly.
"Gods little one. . . you are so much. . . so perfect."
"I. . ."
"My perfect little beast."
The endearment brought Lexington back to reality. He couldn't accept endearments. Couldn't do this.
Puck sighed , "I can see the doubts in your eyes."
"We shouldn't have done this."
"Why not? You liked it. I loved it."
"The clan. . ."
He took his hands away and sat up with sad confusion on his expressive face. "Do they worry you that much?"
"They're my family. And they wouldn't understand." He looked away, "I won't tell about the Owen thing, you don't have to teach me. We shouldn't meet again."
"But I WANT to! I like you Lex. I told you that."
"I can't like you that way."
"Why not?"
"Goliath wouldn't accept it."
Puck nodded. "I know, but this isn't about Goliath. It's about you."
"I am the clan."
"You're more than that."
". . ."
"Lexington. I want to know you. You. Not your clan. They aren't going to accept me."
"I didn't mean to hurt you."
"Well, you win some you loose some right?"
"Puck. . ."
"Come by anytime ok? To read."
"Please. . ."
"That promise still stands. And I still think you're beautiful." The taloned hand that fell to his shoulder was trembling. The prince of mischief turned and faced Lexington, and saw the tears on his face. "Lex? Don't cry. Tears shouldn't cover those eyes. . ."
"No one has ever wanted me that way before."
He nodded, "I presumed too much."
"NO!" He blushed, "I mean. . . could we do that?"
The farie blinked in question, "That?"
"Hide it?"
His whole face lit up, "We can try."
"We can keep it secret." Lexington smiled softly and Puck's breath was stolen for a moment.
He affirmed it absently. "Secret."
"Puck?"
"Mmm?" He asked softly, still entranced by those wide, perfect eyes.
A smooth, flesh feeling crept up his legs and Puck's
eyes went wide as Lexington's tail ran over his secret spot as the littlest
gargoyle slid closer in innocent sensuality, "We still have a little while
before sunset."
As the sun set, Lex began to stir. He blushed with the memories of what he and Puck had done. Even though it had been a dream he could still feel the farie inside him. Such a warm and safe feeling. //How will I ever keep this secret?//
The darkness sent shivers through his stone and the shell cracked and scattered. Exploding outward and releasing him once more. The first thing he noticed was an unfamiliar weight in his hands.
"Hey Lexington, what's that?" His two best friends asked in curiosity.
He blinked in shock and tried unsuccessfully to press back the sudden swell of hope. "It. . . it's a book."
"Who left you a book?"
"I don't. . ." He opened it and sounded out the title. "Be-ayu-tee beauty! Beauty and the Be-aste Beast! Beauty and the Beast!" He touched the dark, age worn pages reverently.
"So who left it? Elisa?"
"I don't know." He smiled at his friend's bemused faces, "I'm gonna go out. Later."
Goliath came up behind the stunned pair, "Where is he going?"
"He just said out."
"Out?"
"Yeah." Broadway nodded.
"What was he carrying?"
"A book."
"He's probably going someplace to practice reading." Goliath reasoned and turned to go inside.
Brooklyn glanced at Broadway carefully, "Did you see Lexington's face?"
"He looked. . ."
"Glowing."
"Guess he really likes reading." The larger gargoyle shrugged and walked to the door, "Come on! Elisa's bringing pizza!"
"I'll be right in."
Brooklyn looked out into the night and frowned, "Whatever
you're up to friend. Be careful." Then he turned away, "Hey! Save some
pepperoni for me!"
________________
Lexington wasn't worried about the trouble he could be in if they were found out. Or about the clan finding out. He just wanted to see Puck again.
The little gargoyle landed on their old castle and snuck quietly down into Xanatos Inc., hugging his precious book close. After turning a corner too quickly he slammed into a taller human and jumped back into a defense stance.
"Lexington." Owen stood over him as he righted his glasses which had come ascue in their collision.
"You. . . that is. . . thank you. For the book." He looked at the tall and stiff man carefully, "You are him right?"
The blue eyes sparkled, "Yes." He bowed slightly and offered a very small smile.
The gargoyle blushed, breathed a sigh of relief, and smiled. "Does the offer still stand?"
Owen's smile never faltered, "Of course. If you would follow me, my chambers are this way."
Lex felt his heart jump and his skin heat. "Oh. Ok."
The blond man opened the door quietly and motioned for Lexington to take a seat on the small, black leather sofa which sat before the television. He turned on the table lamps and sat beside the gargoyle. "How far are you?"
"I can sound things out." He watched the human carefully. Owen wasn't like Puck at all. And he hadn't mentioned the dream meeting. //Was it really just a dream?//
"Did you hear me?"
"Huh?"
Owen gave him an odd look. "I said, You read and I will point out errors as they come."
Lexington smiled and opened the book carefully, "I'm afraid I'll rip it. It looks so old."
"It is. An original copy. First edition." Owen said with pride.
"But isn't this. . . this is an old book! Very old! How did you. . ."
"I had it in my own collection."
"And you gave it to me?"
"I've read it enough. Go on. Read."
Unsure now of where he really stood with the farie, Lexington at least knew that his promise had been real. He decided to act like the dream hadn't happened at all, and see what came of it later. Besides. He really did want to read. "On-ce. . ."
"Once."
"Once upon a time. . ."

Seven hours later Lexington nodded off and Owen closed the book quietly and stood. He had offered to read a chapter for each the gargoyle read so he would not become discouraged. This last was just too much. He'd fought valiantly to keep awake but the events of the night before and the emotional rollarcoaster of that night had caught up to him.
With competent hands, he tucked the creature's long legs up onto the sofa and covered him warmly. Then he sat back down and let the olive skinned man's head rest in his lap before he dozed off as well. //I may not know how to approach you in this form. But you are still beautiful to these eyes, human or not.//
A knock a couple hours later brought Owen from his slumber and he shifted uneasily at the weight in his lap. Lexington was once again stone, still in the same position as before. He looked beautiful. A masterpiece.
Another round of knocking forced the blond servant up and to the door after making sure he was completely in order.
"Good morning." He greeted David Xanatos quietly.
"Owen, it isn't like you to sleep in. Are you feeling well?"
"Yes sir, thank you."
"I admit I was worried."
"I had a long night sir."
"Oh?" Xanatos' eyes lit up in understanding, "I've never known you to indulge in these more . . . earthy pleasures Owen. Congratulations. Is this a one night occurrence or someone more special?"
"Someone very special sir."
"When can I meet this special someone?"
Owen smiled slightly, "In due time sir. We are not ready to. . . announce, anything as of yet."
"all right. I trust your judgment. Come on, we have a long day before us."
"Of course sir."
_______________
Lexington awoke to the feeling of something soft beneath him and warm around him. He blinked open his glowing eyes and darted a glance around at his surroundings. "Where. . . oh!"
He sat up quickly and yawned. "Oh no! Goliath is going to kill me! I didn't go home!"
"Did you tell him your destination?"
Lexington jumped and turned to face Owen, "No. I didn't think he'd like it very much."
"A wise choice."
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to fall asleep on your . . . uh. . . soft, skin thingy."
"It's a love seat." He said softly, "And it was no bother at all. You don't snore."
Lexington grinned, "So can I come back?" He asked hopefully, "I really liked being with you. You know so much!"
"Not so much." He shrugged, "but I would like for you to come back."
"Cool. It's a deal then."
"A date."
"Huh?"
"We say it's a date."
"Oh. Ok." He smiled brightly and leapt from the window, catching the air currents and soaring, "Thanks!"
Owen smiled in the window and turned back to his empty room. "I should thank you." He said softly, "Lexington."
The moment he touched down the olive skinned gargoyle was swept upon by Goliath. "Where have you been?!"
"I uh. . . I was just out."
"Passed sunrise."
He looked a little guilty. "I found a safe place."
"I know you get caught up in books but there is no place safe out there. We were worried."
"I'm fine."
Goliath nodded, "Did you enjoy your book?"
"I'm not done yet."
"Elisa told me about this story." Goliath took the book carefully. "Maybe, once you've learned to read, you could show me."
Lexington smiled and took the book back, "Sure!"
"Goliath! He wasn't. . .Lexington!" Brooklyn hugged his friend and then punched him, "You had us worried about you!"
"Lex is home!" Broadway grinned and Hudson looked up from the television.
"Irresponsible of you ta stay out all day."
"Sorry." He looked down and hugged the book to him.
Goliath looked up at the lightened sky. "And most of the night as well. The sun will rise soon."
"Yeah."
Brooklyn studied his best friend's dreamy look but
said nothing. He did, however, decide to keep a closer eye on the smaller
clan brother. Something was. . . different about him.
_______________
Puck came again that night. This time Lexington was sitting on a cliffs edge overlooking the wild land he'd been born in. Long before Xanatos had found them. The little one didn't even have to turn around to know who he felt behind him.
"You came back."
"Well we had so much fun last time. . ."
He turned around and studied the farie carefully, "Are these dreams real?"
"That's a contradiction." He pointed out and sat beside the other creature watching the sun. "I like this dream. How do you know what the sun is like?"
Lex settled back down and smiled into the warm light. "I saw it. On television."
They were quiet a while longer then the white haired third race turned a serious face to him, "Have I made you angry with me?"
"No."
"Offended?"
"No."
"Upset?"
"No."
He frowned a thoughtful pout and then slid closer, "Then why are you giving me frostbite?"
Concerned eyes shot to his and he looked the man up and down. "You aren't cold."
"Just an expression."
"What game are you playing?"
"Hmm?" He smiled as he watched the lovely mouth speaking to him. Such a pretty mouth. He leaned in to capture it and was shoved back physically and mentally. "I was only going to. . . no you're right, I was going to kiss you. Care ta try again?"
"Why didn't you mention the last dream when we read together?"
Understanding lit on the smooth, pale, face.
"I thought. . . it doesn't matter what I thought. I'll stop by tonight and return your book. I can't meet you anymore."
"Why not? Was Goliath livid? Did he yell? He didn't hurt you did he?"
The response was so soft it was almost missed. "You hurt me."
"What?"
"Remember I said no one has ever liked me the way you . . ."
"Of course."
"I had never liked anyone else either. Not that way."
"'Had' never?"
"I liked you."
Those dancing blue eyes looked hurt, "Passed tense again. You got over it I suppose."
"I thought you did."
He knelt in front of the olive skinned gargoyle and leaned in the touch his face. "I didn't."
"Then why?"
"Owen is a ridged bastard."
"He's you."
"In a different form. He's all of my inhibitions, my insecurities, as Owen I have human worries." Puck explained and rested his head in his hands, "Even I, the trickiest of actors, could not play such a role without putting myself into it. He really is me. Owen is what I fear. But I am still him. We have the same heart. And the same feelings."
"About me?"
He nodded somberly, "You could rip my heart out if you wanted to."
"I'd never. . ."
"I didn't mean physically."
Lexington lowered his eyes, "Oh."
"You have to make the first move."
"ME?!"
Puck stood and offered Lexington his hand. "You see, as a third race we feel sorrow and happiness, but it isn't the same as the abject pain human's can feel. Even Gargoyles can't feel pain and loss as deeply as humans. You could literally kill the Owen me with emotional agony. Humans are so fragile in that way. He needs to know that you wouldn't leave him."
"You want me to do to him what you did to me."
"In not so few words but yes."
"And then he'll be you again?"
"Only around you. Once the human fears are relieved, I'll be, pretty much a non magical me."
"I like the magical you though."
Puck grinned and swept the startled gargoyle into his arms. "I can't be so very often or I'll get found out. But one can still 'dream'."
Lexington laughed out loud and held tight to his
farie lover and he spun them in a playful dance of kisses and embraces.
With the promise of real life touches as close as the nightfall.
_______________
Owen sat up startled in his bed and his eye widened. //I told him too. . . Gods.// He grabbed up his clock and starred at the glowing numbers. eight hours until sunset. "And then what?"
He stood and slipped into his suit all the while thinking fast. //Goliath will never let this last. Something is bound to happen. I can't just abandon my human form when the pain comes. It would be too suspicious.//
He looked into the mirror at familiar blue eyes locked
in a stranger's form. "How can we keep this secret?"
"Lexington."
The little one turned around, his book clutched to his chest. "Oh, hi Brooklyn."
"Going off to read again."
"Yeah. I'm getting better and better at it."
"Where do you go?"
"Here and there. Different places."
"Why don't you just read here? You're gone almost all the time now." He searched his brother carefully, "We only see you to say good morning and good night."
"I just. . . need my space." He looked out toward the city, his mind already with Owen. Puck. His lover. Amazing as it was he had found someone. Someone who's eyes showed him a thousand dawns warmth.
"Lex!"
"Huh?"
"Where were you just then?"
"I was thinking."
"About what?"
"Just things. I'm going now. I'll see you later."
Brooklyn watched the other gargoyle fly off and shook his head. "Whatever you're up to Lexington. . . Oh! Fine." He jumped from the tower and soared after his clan brother. Whatever Lex was doing couldn't be something Goliath would approve of, and if that was true, Lex was probably going to need a lot of help.
The smaller male landed in the old castle and slipped inside.
"He's working with Xanatos? No way Lex would do that." Keeping down wind and well out of site, the tall, red gargoyle trailed his friend to a set of large doors then slid out the nearest window and climbed to peak inside. //What is he doing in there?//
_______________
Hard claws made only the barest whisper as Lexington touched down in the castle and walked down into the building it stood on in search of Owen. He found the man's chambers again easily enough, but he wasn't inside. The Olive gargoyle sat on the bed and waited. Within moments he was asleep. Exhausted from the dreams which kept him awake even as he slept.
_______________
"You seem distracted Owen."
"It's nothing, Mister Xanatos, just, that special someone I told you about is here."
"Again so soon?" He smiled and patted the stiff man on the back, "I knew you had it in you. Does this person know about . . ."
"Of course. I would not call someone special to me if they hadn't."
"How long will this person be 'they' are you not even going to tell me their gender?"
The barest smile touched his lips, "not yet."
"You're really taken by this one!"
"So it would seem."
The teasing went instantly from Xanatos' face, "Be careful Owen. You do not understand how very much the people we care for can hurt us."
"I will not forget that sir."
"Well what are you still here for? Go on."
"We are not through."
"I can finish up."
"Thank you."
David Xanatos nodded and watched Owen leave, then followed him with the video surveillance. He did trust Owen to fulfill his promise, but he did not trust Puck not to play it for all he could. It was better to be safe when dealing with the personification of mischief.
_______________
"Lexington?" He stepped into his chambers and smiled at the gargoyle nestled in his bed waiting. Being very careful to be quiet, he moved to the bedside and sat beside him. "You haven't been sleeping well?"
"WHA. . . oh, Owen, I'm sorry, I must have been more tired than I thought."
"Do you still want to read tonight?" He reached for the book but Lexington caught his hand before he could touch it.
"I had something else in mind." His voice was soft and unsure despite the strong words.
"Oh." The human swallowed heavily and watched his guest, but didn't pull away.
Encourage by Owen's lack of resistance, Lex pressed forward and ran a clawed finger over the other man's arm. "You're very pretty as a human. Different from my Puck, but the same too."
"I am . . . your. . . Puck." He hesitated but allowed the gargoyle's claim. It felt . . . not bad. . . to belong to someone.
"I know." He nodded. "I wouldn't be here if you weren't."
"You. . ." he gasped as the sharp talons shredded his clothes away like they were nothing.
"Remember what you told me in the dream?"
He nodded, breathless.
"I want to do it. I want you. But my claws, I can't concentrate enough right now, to stretch you without hurting."
". . . I can. . ."
"Yeah, I like that idea. Ready yourself for me." Lex pulled off his loincloth and watched in rapt attention as the blond human reached down and slid two fingers into himself. "T. . . tell me when you're ready."
He nodded and Lex sat watching until Owen looked up with clear and need filled eyes.
"Come up here with me okay? Sit on it."
"Lex. . ."
The gargoyle smiled and blushed, "I'm trying to do this right, but if we hesitate I'm going to lose my nerve. I'm new at this."
The innocent confession drove Owen over his final doubt and they tumbled into the bed together, each secure in the knowledge that the other was theirs. It was slow and sweet, fast and hard, and completely exhausting. When they finally screamed their climax together both collapsed and curled together.
"Did I do it right?" Lex asked quietly.
Owen smiled, "So very right."
"s'good."
"Yes."
"Puck. . . Owen. . . what do I call you?"
"My name is Puck."
Lex smiled. "Puck?"
"Hmm?"
"Can we read when I can see straight again?"
The farie in human guise snickered, then began to laugh and Lex drank the sound in. "Yes, of course we can."
"Mmm." He smiled into his lover's chest and curled in even closer as Owen pulled the blanket over their naked bodies.
"Sleep now little one. I hadn't realized how much our dream meetings were wearing on you."
"s'worth it."
"I know it is. Now sleep."
"'k."
While Lex slept Owen watched him with deep tenderness and held him tight. In a very short time this little gargoyle had given him so much joy. He could safely say this could become love very quickly. The thought, however, didn't worry him anymore.
_______________
In the control room Xanatos was in a state of shock over what he'd just seen. He had known it was most likely a male Owen was meeting. Why else would he have kept the gender of his lover such a mystery? But this. . .
//Goliath can't agree with this.// He realized all at once. //Which means he doesn't know. Owen what are you doing? You must realise you can't hide this from him for long.//
He watched the blond man curl lovingly around his olive colored companion and frowned when a red blur moved outside the lover's window. "This can not be good."
_______________
Brooklyn's eye refused to leave the lovers. He was in complete shock! //So this is why. . . but the clan forbids. . . oh man! Lex what are you thinking?!//
His small friend sighed and rubbed up against the human man in contentment.
//You looked so. . . oh man! You're gonna be heart broken when. . . and Xanatos' servant?! If you wanted a dangerous relationship why this dangerous? I. . . if I tell Goliath Lexington will be banished. He'll never forgive me. But if I don't. . .//
"Brooklyn."
He looked toward the window he'd snuck out of and frowned. "Xanatos."
"Don't be rash, I need to talk to you."
"What's going on?" He slipped back inside and faced the man in anger. "Do you have any idea what this could do to Lexington? Do you think Owen will live long after Goliath finds out?!"
"I had nothing to do with this. I only recently found out who Owen has been meeting."
"So he 'has' been here before."
The dark haired man nodded, "Once, the night before last."
"What do you know."
He shook his head, "Nothing but that Owen is completely taken by your friend. He has never shown any interest before in these things."
"Is Lex in danger?"
"I don't expect you to believe me but I believe Owen is in more danger than your friend in this relationship."
"I can't tell Goliath. He'd have to banish Lex from the clan."
Xanatos nodded and looked at the closed doors beside them. "For now we should both remain quiet about what we've seen. If they are serious enough to risk what they have, maybe they have each found something worth the risk."
The gargoyle frowned. "You sound like you care."
"About your friend. Not really. But Owen is a good man. He has been irreplaceable to me. I don't want to see him hurt."
"So we just wait?"
"What else can we do?"
Brooklyn growled and looked out the window in anger. "I don't GET it! Why would he risk everything for. . . that. . . that human?!"
"Maybe for the same reason Goliath would risk everything for Elisa."
"But he l. . .Oh my Gods."
Xanatos nodded.
"But they're both. . . they can't. . ."
"It is a common thing among humans. And Lexington of all of you, is not your average gargoyle."
The other Gargoyle closed his eyes in defeat, "I need to talk to Lex."
"Do what you have to."
Brooklyn's glide back to the clock tower was full of questions and worry. //Lex. You don't know what you're doing.// He landed and looked out toward the huge building that held his best friend. //And I don't know what to do about it.//
Coal black eyes opened to drown in ice blue orbs and Lexington smiled up at his lover. "Hi."
"Good evening." He smiled softly, "Sleep well?"
"Yeah. I didn't think I would." He stopped and looked at the man with awe. "You know, I never saw you really smile in this form before tonight. You really are beautiful."
Owen kissed the olive gargoyle's brow and shook his head, "Not half so much as you."
"You're just saying that to get some."
"Will it work?"
He chuckled and rolled Owen onto his back, straddling his hips playfully. "I can't believe I found you."
"Your bad for my humility Lexington."
"Good."
Owen lifted himself to kiss his chosen companion and the gargoyle quickly complied.
"Puck, I need to tell you something."
He nibbled his way down the gargoyle's neck and smiled against the thick skin of his throat. "You can tell me anything."
"I. . . I think I. . . Iloveyou." He blushed and looked away and Owen stopped his kisses and turned the perfect face to look at him. "I know it's kind of quick and you don't have to say it back but I. . . I do."
"Lex. . ." He whispered heatedly.
He closed his eyes and waited to be order to leave.
"I love you my Lexington. You make it hard not to love you."
The onyx eyes shot open and stared at him. "Puck. . ."
"Well? Are you going to explain how you love me? I think visual aids are in order." He pulled his little love down and rubbed against him heatedly, "Hands on explanations complete with. . . . oooh. . . demonstrations."
Lexington's eyes glowed white, just like they did during battle, and he captured Owen's lips in a brutally loving kiss. "I need you. Want to feel you. I'm so empty."
He groaned and fumbled in the night table drawer for the convenient tube he stored there. "Open for me Lexie. Let me . . ."
"Oh! Puck!" He yelped when Puck entered him smoothly and groaned at the fire pooling in his loins. He'd never needed this much. It was so hot, intense, complete. "H. . . harder! Please P. . . Puck!"
"Lex. My Lex."
"Puuuuuuuuck!" The little one came hard and long and his lover followed him over the edge. It had been quick and hard and completely without foreplay, but neither of them had ever felt so perfect. Because it was done with love.
The blond human lay there, his lover underneath him, unable to move.
"God's." Lexington chuckled sleepily, "I think I'm dead."
"You're to warm to be dead."
"Oh."
"'m I to heavy?"
"No. Stay right where you are."
"kay."
Lexington managed to turn his head and nuzzle Puck's face groggily. "Hey Puck?"
"Hm?"
"What did you call me?"
"Wha. . .?"
"Right before we. . . What did you call me?"
"Lexie." He sighed and kissed the neck beside him, "I didn't mean to it just came out."
"No. I like it. Something for just you and me."
"Mmm."
"Are you going to sleep?"
"Mmm."
The gargoyle chuckled and closed his eyes. "Love you."
A sleepy, "luv you too." was the last thing he heard before he drifted to sleep.
_______________
"Brooklyn?"
The red gargoyle looked up sharply, "Yes Goliath?"
"Where is Lexington going each night?"
He smiled uncomfortably, "Out to read. He told me
he just likes some space."
"He has been gone very frequently."
"Yeah. Funny huh?"
"You followed him once."
"I. . ."
"What are you not telling me?"
"He. . . uh. . . he . . ."
"Brooklyn?"
The younger Gargoyle looked away from his leader and sighed, "He's found someone."
"Someone?" Goliath blinked in surprise, "A friend?"
"Yes, a human. . . but he doesn't want anyone to know yet."
"Why not?"
"Because he. . . the human and Lex are. . ."
"He's found a mate? A human mate?!"
"They aren't actually mated yet, I don't think."
"But he's in no danger from this female?"
Brooklyn almost cringed but stopped himself, "No. No danger."
Across town in Owen's room Lexington curled tightly around his lover and sighed. "I love you."
