<Part 1>

Bobby felt miserable. His head was splitting and the room wouldn't stop spinning. When his stomach started heaving, he stumbled frantically toward the bathroom and just made it in time to throw up.  That's where Gambit found him when he came to wake him up. Clutching the toilet as his stomach threatened to let go again.

 "Bobby?"

He turned sharply and groaned Gambit held his hair back for him as he heaved the contents of his
stomach up again.

"You ‘ave a fever mon ami."

 "God I feel like shit."

 "You look beautiful."

He smiled ruefully and chuckled, "Sure I do."

"Come on. Let's get you into bed. I tell Scott you sick ok?"

"Don't leave." Bobby pleaded and grabbed Remy's hand.

The Cajun looked at his lover, so pale. "De fin' out if I don' mon cher."

He closed his eyes and swallowed back another wave of bile as he nodded, "But come back after
you tell them. Please."

Gambit nodded and laid out a wastebasket surrounded by newspapers. "In case you get sick
again."

Bobby smiled weakly and closed his eyes. Squeezing Gambit's hand once before he let him go.

"Sleep now cher. I be right back."

Scott looked up from his place at the war room table, "Where is Bobby?"

"He no' feelin' very well. I t'ink he got de flu."

"Damn." He took a calming breath, "Ok, Gambit you know basic medical treatment right?"

 "Oui."

"You stay here with Bobby then. Warren I'm going to leave you in charge. The X-force team is
going to be staying here for a while so we need a few people to remain, Cannonball is going to bring
them so he will stay. Marrow, you stay too. The rest of us have a mission. We will be gone around a
month. I would leave Storm in charge but her skills are needed with us, I trust that I leave the
mansion in good hands."

Warren nodded and Gambit turned to go.

 "Where are you going?"

"Drake asked me to come back after I tol' you. ‘e feelin' bad. No one want' ta be ‘lone when de
ain't feelin' good."

Scott nodded and Gambit disappeared. Warren glared after him. //Bobby is ‘My' best friend! Why
should he want that traitor to be there instead of me!?//

"Warren?" Hank asked, breaking him out of his momentary spell.

"Huh? Oh, sorry Hank, what did you say?"

"The com link in the med lab is channeled directly to me if Bobby gets worst."

 "Ok."

He nodded and left with the others, "Good luck."

Gambit shut the door softly and sat beside his lover. "Bobby? How you doin'"

He mumbled something unintelligible and scooted closer to the Cajun, resting his head on his lover's
lap.

Remy smoothed his lovers hair and smiled. Bobby loved to be touched. Even just in passing. He
loved holding hands and hugging and any kind of physical contact. There were day's when he would
pull Remy aside, out of sight of the others and simply say, "I need a hug." The Cajun was always
happy to oblige. As much as Bobby loved being touched, Gambit loved touching him. It worked out
very well.

"Mm feeling little better." Bobby sighed softly.

"Just rest cher. I be here when you wake up non?"

"‘k." He hugged the thief's waist and fell asleep that way.

Remy leaned back against the headboard and smiled. His heart was saturated with love for his Ice
angel. "Bobby." He closed his eyes and lay one hand on Bobby's soft hair, the other on his arm.
Soon Remy LeBleu was sound asleep and dreaming of ice and snow, but instead of the usual
nightmares that had plagued him since Antarctica, they were soft and good dreams filled with Bobby
and laughter and the warmth of their love for each other. "My ice angel."

Warren stood outside the door growling deep in his throat. He had come to check on Bobby and
found him wrapped in a soft embrace with the traitor. Both of them slept but in his sleep Bobby
smiled and breathed out a name. "Remy."

When Gambit murmured, "My ice angel," He almost tore them apart. //How could you Bobby? He's
killed so many! He betrayed us all! He took my wings! He stole my wings but he will not steal my
friend!//

As angel stomped away Marrow snuck out of the shadows and to the door, to see what made the
angel of death so angry. //They are beautiful.// She thought.

//Why would this make Archangel so mad?// A softness stole over her when she looked upon their
innocent faces. She knew the thief was responsible for the deaths of her fellow Morlocks but after
living in the other world as she had, she understood the pull of survival. He had done it to survive. That was not something to be punished. //And ice boy has been so happy since he came back,
because of Gambit.//

She glanced at them once more before closing the door. //They are soft. The world will hurt them
because they are too soft. I will protect them.//

When Bobby woke up the next morning he found himself laying between Remy's legs. His head
cushioned on the thief's thigh. He sat up slowly, testing his balance and found the room had stopped
spinning and his headache was gone. //24 hour bug.// He smiled and let one hand creep up Remy's
chest sliding smoothly under the sleeping man's shirt.

"Mm. Bobby." Remy smiled in his sleep.

"Reeeeeeeemy." Bobby sing songed quietly and tweaked his nipple lightly.

Gambit jumped and his eyes flew open. "Bobby!"

"Gotcha." He grinned and slipped his head into Remy's shirt to kiss along the same path his hands
had traveled and to lavish the dark bud with a gracious, and very wet, apology.

"Mmm! Bobby! I t'ought you be sick."

"I feel much better." He grinned up at the Cajun through his shirt's neck hole. "Now I'm hungry."

"Oh? I can fix de brot' for you."

 "Not for -that-."

Gambit grinned back at his lover and slid his head inside of his shirt to kiss the boy lurking there.
"Den you want de Cajun food non?"

"Mm, my favorite." He giggled and slid down between Gambit's strong legs to kiss the hardening
bulge in his sweat pants.

 "You sure you feel better."

"I'd feel a lot better if your pants were off."

Gambit gave an indignant yelp when Bobby froze and shattered the offending material. The yelp
turned quickly into a groan when his mutant lover enveloped his half hard member in his hot mouth,
teasing him to erection and over the edge of oblivion almost at the same time. "Bobby!" Gambit cried
as he spilled his seed into his lover's mouth.

Bobby greedily swallowed it all and kept suckling at the Cajun's member until it was hard again. He
teased him mercilessly, hardening him to the point of sweet pain but not allowing him to come again.

 "Mon cher! Bobby!"

"Mm?" He asked, the humming of his lips driving his lover crazy.

"Bon Dieu!" Remy tossed his head back and gasped in pleasure, "Mon bon Dieu!"

"I love it when you speak French." Bobby breathed as he licked at the throbbing man rod of his
lover.

"Oui, ah Bobby! Oui Bobby! Mon Dieu! Ahhh!!! Cher, Mon cher oui!!"

Bobby reached for the night stand and fumbled around for the oil he kept there now. When he found
it he poured some into his palms and the soft smell of sandalwood wafted through the room mingling
with the scent of sex.

 "Bobby!"

He smiled and coated the Cajun's rod with the oil before reaching back to cover his entrance in the
same slick stuff. When he lowered himself onto Gambit's sex both men cried out, catching the sound
with a kiss before the others could hear. They road each other hard and fast, the oil making sucking
sounds as their bodies parted and met again and again until finally they came. Gambit's seed spilling into his lover and Bobby's pooling on the thief's hard chest.

Both fell back to the bed, exhausted but happy. Bobby lapped the salty liquid from Gambit's skin
and then kissed him, offering it to him. He swallowed it gladly and caught the other man's tongue
between his lips. Massaging it with his mouth in a silent thank you and vow of love.

"Mm. I love you Remy." Bobby sighed and stretched out beside him, his head resting on Remy's
strong arm.

"I love you too mon cher." He kissed the mutant's sweat covered brow and smiled.

"‘m glad we didn't have to go on the mission."

"Oui. We would have had no time to oursel'es wit' de ‘'ole team so close."

"We should tell them. I hate having to hide what we have."

"I do too mon cher. We tell dem soon non?"

 "Yeah. Soon."

"Sleep now cher, you' ‘till worn out."

 "Mhmm."

Remy laughed and cuddled closer to Iceman. Both fell asleep to the sound of their combined
breathing.

A loud commotion outside of the room brought both men to their senses the next day. Bobby
stepped out to find Marrow fighting Warren back from the door. "What's going on?!"

"He want's the Cajun." Marrow growled and ripped another bone dagger from her skin.

 "Warren?"

"Bobby please don't make this harder. Gambit you are under arrest for crimes against mutant and
human alike. You will be locked in the holding cells until the others return."

"Dis ain't what dey had in min' when dey lef' you in charge Warren." Gambit stepped forward and
looked Angel in the eye.

"If you want a fight I'll be glad to oblige." He spread his deadly wings and waited for an answer.

Bobby was the one who stopped it. He put himself between the two men, leaning back on Gambit
protectively, "No! We are all Xmen here! No fighting! No more."

 "Bobby he is a traitor."

"Not anymore! Marrow is a Morlock! She suffered because of what happened but she doesn't hold
a grudge." Bobby looked to Marrow for assurance and she nodded. "Why? Why can't you let the
past go?"

Warren took a step forward and Bobby pushed Remy a step back, "Don't do this Warren. If you
do this our friendship is over."

"I am in charge while the others are gone. This is best for the team."

"No mon ami dis is bes' fo' you." Gambit stepped forward and squeezed Bobby's shoulder
reassuringly as he passed, "I be alrigh' Bobby."

 "Remy. . ."

He turned his black and red gaze to Marrow, "You look ova him fo' me non?"

"Aa." She nodded and stepped closer to the upset boy.

Warren clamped wrist shackles and an inhibitor collar on the Cajun and pulled him off to the ground
level cells.

"Remy. . ." Bobby's eyes watered as Warren dragged his lover away.

Marrow jumped when the boy suddenly iced up and leapt at the death angel's throat.

"Bobby!" Warren tried to pry his friend off of his neck but he held on too tightly.

"Don't call me that any more! You aren't my friend! Let him go!"

Sam slammed in the door, Xforce behind him and with all of them they managed to pry Iceman from
Warren before he killed him. Gambit tried to do something but Marrow held him back. When they
finally got Everyone calmed down enough, Sam heard Warren's explanation and sent both Gambit
and Bobby to the holding cells until Scott could return and figure out what to do. Sunspot was given
the first shift to watch them, and Marrow followed in the shadows to see where her self proclaimed
charges were going to be.

"Damn it Warren get back here and face me! You were my friend! I used to brush out your damn
wings for you when we first joined up! I trusted you you ass hole!"

 "Cher. . ."

 "Remy I didn't know, I. . ."

"Shh." Gambit took Bobby into his arms and nuzzled his neck tenderly, "It' only fo' a mont', den de
others come ‘ome an' ‘is wings be clipped non?"

The two of them sat shoulder to shoulder in the corner of the cell. The only light inside of the bars
was the yellow glow of the inhibitor collars' stat. boards.

Roberto, better known as Sunspot, shut the door behind him and sat facing the cage the two Xmen
were stuck in. He noticed the red glow of Gambit's eyes turned on him and refused to break eye
contact. After a moment Gambit chuckled, "You ether very brave or jus' real dumb mon ami."

 "Most likely both."

The Cajun smiled and started to stand.

 "What are you doing?!"

"Bobby gone an' fell ‘sleep, I jus' puttin' ‘im ta bed. ‘e jus' gettin' ova de flu."

 "Oh, ok."

 "Din' ask yo' pe'mission ami."

The cot's were set into the wall on hinges so they could be raised or lowered in and out of use.
Gambit pulled the cushion and blanket off of the upper wall cot and set it on top of the lower one,
then put the top cot up and fixed the bottom one up nice before tucking Bobby into it. Bobby
cuddled close to his love's legs in his sleep and pressed sleepy, needy kisses to his muscular thigh.

"Why is he doing that?" Bobby demanded innocently.

Gambit smoothed the boy's hair and whispered something to him in French, "He don' feel good
‘berto. He do dat when he don' feel good."

"You. . . him. . . I mean. . ." Roberto was turning an interesting shade of green.

 "Oui."

The young mutant looked like he would be ill.

"Well der's a new reaction." Gambit rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to Bobby. He
paused and studied his skin carefully before charging his hand for light despite the pain it caused him
through the collar.

 "What are you doing?!"

"Do me a favo' ami. Call up docto' Macoy."

 "Why?"

"Ask ‘im if Bobby eve' ‘ad de Chicken pox."

<Part 2>

A couple weeks later Bobby was hot, itchy, and miserable. "Chicken pox. I don't believe this." He absently raised his hand to itch his chest.

Gambit caught his hand and shook his head, "Non mon cher, you can' itch dem, it make' dem
wors'."  He smiled and kissed the hand he held, "‘sides, it scar up yo' pretty ches' don wan dat do
you?"

"But they itch Remy!" Bobby groaned and rubbed his arm.

"Don' do dat." Remy pulled his hand back from the little red dots covering his skin.

"I wasn't itching I was rubbing." He pouted.

"Yo' so cute when you pout cher." Gambit chuckled and took the cap off the calimine lotion Marrow
had brought to them. As he dabbed it liberally over Bobby's skin he thought over that. "‘ave you
noticed Marrow's Bein' awful nice all o' de sudden?"

"I think she's protecting us." Bobby raised his had and Remy cleared his throat, "Aw come on! They
itch!"

The thief chuckled and shook his head and Bobby grimaced, "I'm gonna look like an badly colored
hyena."

"I t'ink you ‘till look beautiful."

Bobby's frown slowly turned into a smile and he leaned back against his Cajun, "Yeah but you
thought I was beautiful when I was dizzy as hell and just finished losing my lunch."

"You always beautiful cher. De lor' outdid ‘imself when he make you."

 "Thank you Remy."

"Mm." He melted into the embrace.

"Will you two cut it out?!" Tabitha groaned, "Geesh! Why did I have to be this shift. It's like
watching two mutts in heat!"

"We ain't don dat yet cher."

"Well you're fawning all over each other! It's Gross!"

Bobby sighed, "I guess the Xmen are going to find out sooner than we thought."

"Don' look at me." Remy snickered, "You de one dat keeps kissin' me when you asleep."

 "Well I can help it!"

 "I hear o' sleep walkin' cher but sleep f. . ."

"Ok! Ok! So I get a little carried away.

"A lil'?" Gambit snickered. "But ‘m glad you do. Wouldn' be my Bobby if you didn'"

Bobby smiled playfully, "So your only keeping me around for the. . ."

"That's it!" Tabitha stomped to the door, "Sam it's your turn!"

Sam always lasted his full shift, personally he found the two of them kinda sweet. "So how'd y'all
manage to hide this from us? How long was it?"

 Gambit shrugged, "Coupl'a mont's."

Bobby nodded, "We don' usually have someone watching us every moment of the day."

 "You look cute t'gether."

 Bobby blushed and Gambit grinned.

"Bobby? How are your chicken pox?"

"They itch like hell and a certain Cajun we both know wont let me scratch them."

Sam and Remy both chuckled, "You can't itch them Bobby, you'll make them worst."

 "I brought you something."

 "Huh?"

Marrow stepped out of the shadows near Sam and almost gave him a heart attack. She walked up
to the cell and slipped a bottle through the bars. "Wha' is dis?"

"I looked through the blue furry's medical books. He wrote this in one of them. It's supposed to be
able ta cure a case of mild chicken pox in a coupl'a days."

"He was telling me about that discovery a while ago." Bobby nodded, "Got his face on the cover of
Time."

Marrow nodded, "That was down there to. He never throws anything away does he."

 All three answered together, "Nope."

"You just massage it into your skin three times a day and in one day the itching stops two or three
more the sores heal up."

Sam chuckled, "Then you can -really- freak out your guards."

Gambit and Bobby shared a meaningful look.

Marrow vanished as quick as she'd come.

"Lay down." Gambit smiled and opened the lotion, "I'll rub it in."

"Ah gotta get goin' Star will watch you next."

The two of them didn't notice when Sam left and Shatterstar replaced him. Remy's warm hands and
the smooth, cool lotion had Bobby purring and The trembling body of his lover between his legs as
Remy straddled him for the massage had the thief thinking of something much more pleasurable than
their current jailor.

"Mmm, feels good Remy." Bobby moaned, "Lower."

Gambit did as instructed and Bobby sighed in soft pleasure. "I love de way you soun' when yer
‘appy cher." As an after thought he chuckled, "I din' know you could purr."

"I can do more than that." Bobby grinned and Gambit laughed out loud.

"What ‘appened ta bein' shy abou' us cher?"

"Two weeks of celebacey that's what happened!" Bobby laughed with him.

Gambit slipped the mutant's jeans off and stared rubbing the lotion over his smooth, firm ass and his
long muscular legs.

The purr slowly became a groan when the thief slid his hands up to the already coated mounds of
Bobby's pert rear and began massaging them sexily, "Remy!"

"Sorry cher, couldn' ‘elp it. I love your ass."

Bobby turned and stuck out his tongue, "Then why don't ya marry it?" He chanted in his best
‘spoiled TV brat' voice.

The Cajun chuckled, "Den what woul' I do wit de rest of de body?"

"Why you. . ." Bobby acted offended and turned to face his lover.

 "Dat's right!"

 He stopped mid move, "Huh?"

"I ‘ave ta do de fron' too."

"Oh? Ahh! Remy!" He gasped as Gambit's hands quickly slid south of the border.

 "Wha'?"

He laughed and fell back to the bed, "I give up."

"Oh cher, you neve' give up on Gambit."

"Ah, you know me too well."

"Oui, gettin' to ‘know' you is my fav'rite pass time." He slapped Bobby's hand from his stomach,
"Don' itch!"

 "Reeeeeemy!"

 "No!"

 "Well it's my body!"

Remy smiled and brought his lips to his lovers gently, "My temple."

"Damn you and your logic." Bobby grinned as Gambit smeared the lotion onto his chest, straddling
his waist to rub it in.

 "Mmm."

"How do you find pleasure in such an unsavory situation?"

Both men jumped, suddenly remembering they had an audience. "Shatterstar!"

 "It is my watch."

Gambit stood in front of Bobby while he slid his briefs back on.

 "You didn't answer me."

Bobby blushed and looked at Gambit for help. The thief offered none.

"I ah. . . we're happy because we're together." He said finally. "That's part of what being in love is."

 "You are in love?"

"O' course! You t'ink it' only de sex dat make us stay toget'er?"

 "It is a logical explanation."

Bobby shook his head, "We are in love. When Remy is happy, I'm happy. When he's in pain then I
am too. We have what Mojo worlder's call a soul bond. Two parts of the same whole." He took
Remy's hand affectionately, "That's what love is. So even if I'm sick and even if we're locked up like
this, We're happy because we're together."

Gambit kissed his lover affectionately, "Dat was a beautiful ‘xplanation mon cher."

Bobby smiled, "Of course he has a mouth like a hoover too but. . ."

"Bobby!" Remy tickled him and he slid to the floor laughing.

  "Ok! Ok!"

"How did you find this love?"

"We were good friends." Remy helped Bobby back to his feet and hugged him from behind.

"He helped me fix my car and by the end of that we had crossed that line."

"Because you have a soul bond."

"Yeah. We make each other complete."

"I have such a feeling." Shatterstar said softly, "But he does not know my heart."

 "Haven't you told him?"

"I do not wish to loose his friendship. I value that too much. I tried telling him a few times but never
did it come out right."

Bobby sat on the bed again and leaned back into Remy's welcome embrace. "If you don't tell him
Star, you'll always regret it.

 "And if he rejects me?"

 "At least you'll know."

The alien pondered that for the rest of his shift and Remy finished putting the lotion on Bobby who
kept on purring.

"If dis works I'm gonna take you de minuet yo' well cher. Right here in front of God and everybody."
Gambit promised.

"Usually I'd shy away from an offer like that but right now I want you too badly to be picky about
it."

 "Good."

 "I want a kiss."

Gambit smiled and pressed his lips hungrily to his lovers, Between kisses he managed to pant out,
"Always happy ta ‘blige."

 "Mmm."

By the next shift the medicine had kicked in and Bobby's body was working to cure him, with the
healing though, came a horrible fever.

Rictor sat watching Marrow run cold cloths and ice packs to and from the two of them as Bobby
tossed and cried out in his fever dreams.

Remy sat by him the whole time. Holding his hand and murmuring in French. The Mexican boy
caught the word cher, but the rest was lost upon him.

 "Cher, doesn't that mean darling?"

"Close ‘nough." Gambit replied not really paying any heed to the boy when his lover was in so much
pain.

 "You guys are. . . ah. . ."

"Gay? Yes. Marrow we need more ice."

"Yeah." She nodded and ran for the kitchen again.

"For an iceman Bobby sure melts the stuff quick."

"That's why I'm so worried!" Gambit growled, "He shouldn't be this hot!"

 "Anything I can do?"

"Non. ‘E would ‘ave neve' gotten dis bad if we weren't locked in ‘ere."

 "I can't let you out."

 "I know dat!"

Bobby caught the Cajun's hand and held it tightly.

 "Bobby!?"

"S'not his fault. Don' yell at him."

"Bobby you better not t'ink of doin' dis ‘gain any time soon!"

 "I won'."

The Thief smiled but it didn't reach his eyes. He was scared as Hell. "Hang in der ‘right? Dis is jus
yer body healin' i'self."

"Uhuh." His eyes closed sleepily and Gambit continued Icing his forehead.

About midnight the fever broke and Remy almost wept with relief. His climbed onto the small bed
and kissed every inch of his lovers face. He held him so tightly it seemed as if they were one person
and murmured endearances to the sleeping boy.

"Could you stop that?" Siryn asked nervously.

 "No."

Unprepaired for such a solid answer she just stared for a moment, then she said quietly, "You are
making me decidedly uncomfortable."

 "Good."

Again she paused to let the answer sink in, "It is too late at night for this!"

The Cajun just nuzzled Bobby's neck and went to sleep.

Next shift came in at five AM. Tabitha took one look at the two curled together on the bed and spun
on her heel, "SAM!!! I am -NOT- . . ."

Cable walked down the stares and glared at her. "Yes?"

She glowered and slunk into the holding area.

When Bobby woke up, Remy was snoring softly beside him, "You must have taken care of me all
night." He whispered, smoothing the sweat slicked hair from his love's brow.

 "He did."

The Iceman looked up at Marrow, "You did too, didn't you."

 "So?"

 "Thank you."

She shrugged and kept watching the pair from the shadows.

"We're luck to have you for our guardian angel."

 "Angel?" She asked incredulously.

"You are." He insisted, "You've been looking out for us since all of this started. A beautiful angel."

 Marrow blushed and disappeared.

Bobby smiled and moved his hand to itch his chest.

A strong, gloved hand caught his wrist, "Don' ev'n tink it cher."

 "Awww! Remyyyyyyy! It itches!"

"You need more of dat lotion." He took up the bottle and sat up, straddling the boy, "Strip."

Tabitha screamed, "NO WAY! Stop! Stop it right now!"

Gambit chuckled and held the tube up for inspection, "It jus' ‘is me'cine, ‘e needs dis."

 "Oh Gaaaaawd why me?"

 Bobby grinned, "Why not?"

Shatterstar sat in the room he shared with Rictor. He had been thinking very seriously over what Gambit and Bobby had said. //Do I dare tell him? Risk losing him? I couldn't bare to lose him.// He sheathed his sword and flopped down to the bed, //but as it is I don't even ‘have' him to lose.//

The door swung open and Rictor grinned at his friend, "Hey Star, why so quiet?"

 "I am thinking."

 "Oh?"

"Aa." He sat up and looked at the other boy, "What would you do if one of your team mates said
they cared for you?"

 "They all do."

"As more than friends I mean."

"Who?" Rictor sat on his bed, "You mean like Tabby?"

"No, I mean one of the men."

"You mean a relationship like Remy and Bobby?"

 "Mm."

"I don't know." Rictor smiled, "Those two seem really happy. I guess if I loved him then I would be
thrilled."

"Do you have such feelings for one on this team?"

Rictor's eyes shot to his friend, "Does that bother you?" He asked angrily, "I wont let it interfere with
my fighting if that's what's got you worried." He stood and walked out, shoulders stiff.

 "Julio. . ."

"I thought better of you Star."

The Mojo Worlder stared after him sadly, "That did not go well."

<Part 3>

Bobby lay in Remy's arms on their cot, soaking up his lover's warmth. The itching -had- gone away with the continued use of Hanks medicine. In a couple more days he would be good as new.

 "Wha' you t'inking of cher?"

"What I'll do to you once these damned spots are gone." Bobby grinned, "And how much I love
being held like this."

"Den I do it more." The Cajun promised.

Siryn sighed, "Why don' you two stop that."

"It's a small cell." Bobby grinned snuggling closer.

"No tellin' wha' migh' slip where."

Bobby started to laugh and Siryn groaned.

A knock on the door cut their fun short. "Yes?"

Rictor walked in. Stalked might be a more apt word. "I'm next."

"Thank ye." Siryn hurried out and the angry boy flopped down in her place.

Remy kept stroking Bobby's hair, soothing, trying to get his little love to sleep.

 "Madre de Dios! Stop it!"

Both men jumped at the venom in his words. "What'd we do?"

 Rictor just glared.

Bobby slid from Remy's grip and inched toward the bars, reaching his hand through them and out to their newest jailor, "What's wrong?"

Rictor grabbed his offered hand and swung it into the energy beams. Bobby yelped out in pain as
his skin was burned through and through and Remy was there in an instant.

"Neve' touch my cher in anger again." He warned in a low growl.

The young mutant backed up a little at the ice cold fury in the other's eyes.

 "I. . . is he ok?"

 "No damnit you ‘urt ‘im!"

Bobby groaned and shook his head, "Man those bars pack a punch!"

 "‘ow bad is i'."

Bobby concentrated a moment then sighed, "I can't move it."

 "I'm sorry." The other boy whispered, "I didn't. . . it's just. . ."

 "Wha'?!"

"Star is my best friend. Sometimes he's my only friend. And he. . . because of you we got into an
argument and. . ."

 "‘bout?" Remy glared.

"He wanted to know if I liked anyone on the team like you two like each other. I guess he thought it
might get in the way of our fighting."

Bobby shook his head, "can't be that."

 "Why not?"

Remy thought back to their conversation, "Bobby righ'. When we talk to S'ar he say he ‘as a bon'
startin' wit' a team member but ‘e be scared to lose der frien'ship."

 "A bond?"

 "‘e's in love."

 "With a man?"

 "Dat's wha' ‘e say."

"So he was. . . he was trying to tell me and I. . . oh God!"

Remy carefully looked over Bobbies arm and then smiled, "‘is jus' ‘sleep cher. Dose bars de put it
ta sleep fo' awhile. Not'ing else."

 Bobby yawned.

"De rest o you need some sleep too."

 "Yeah."

"Sleep cher. I be here in de morning."

"Not many other places you could be seeing as were locked in an electrified cell."

 "Details, details."

Bobby chuckled and rested his head on Gambit's shoulder, "g'night Remy."

 "G'night mon cher."

Rictor watched the two lovers and choked on a sob. //What have I done?!//

When Remy woke up the next morning Bobby was already awake! And as if that wasn't enough of
a shock, the blue eyed boy was reading!

 "Dat a go' book cher?"

The boy jumped guiltily, "Um. . . heh, you're up! Morning!"

 "What were you reading?"

 "Nothin'."

"Uhuh, let's see it." Remy advanced with a grin.

Bobby blushed and dodged beggining a game of bob and weave around the small cell until Remy
slid under his legs and snapped the book from his hands, "Hey!"

"Love on The Sea?" Remy snickered and Bobby blushed, "You're reading a homosexual romance
novel?!"

Bobby snatched it back and blushed deeper, "It's a historical account of the lives of the privateer."

The red eyed mutant laughed and snatched the book back, dodging Bobby's attempts to retreive it
while he read the back, "a'ways on de sea, Rourke. . . wha' kin' o' name is Rou'ke?"

 "Remy!"

"Rourke neve' though' ‘e wou'd fin' love. Den ‘e meet' de new man on board. . . oh ya Bobby I c'n
see ‘ow his'orical dis is."

 "Well. . . I. . ."

The Caijun shook his head and smiled, "Read it to me?"

 "Wha?"

"I wan' ta hear it. Read it to me."

Bobby blushed but started from the beginning.

Hours later they were still sitting on the bed reading when shifts changed.

"Rourke gasped as Beau's tongue warred with his. Neither cared who was strongest or who should
run the ship, in that moment only the two of them mattered. Only the sparks their loving sent through
their spines. Beau cried out as his lover sent his soul soaring higher than the great mast and sent
waves crashing  through his trembling body."

Remy ran a hand lazily over Bobby's chest, "Do I eve' set yo' soul flyin' like dat?"

Bobby grinned and leaned forward for a long, soft kiss, "Every time you smile."

"Got dat Rourke guy beat den?"

"Oh yeah." The younger man smiled and rubbed up closer, "hands down."

"If you insist." Remy slid his hands down to cup Bobbies hard bulged and the boy jumped at the
touch. "Betta'?"

"Mmm!" Bobby nodded and turned his head for another kiss, "better. Yeah."

Cable chuckled from his post, "Aren't you boy's underage?"

Bobby smirked and whispered to his lover, "I'd rather be under you."

 "I heard that."

Poor Bobby blushed bright read and Remy broke down laughing.

 "S'not funny." Bobby's blush deepened.

Remy crushed a brutally loving kiss to those pouting lips and grinned, "Don' matter wha' anyone else say Bobby. Jus' matters dat I lo'e you."

"I love you too." He sighed and leaned in to by held close by strong arms. "Love you so much."

    "Much as my cooking?"

"Weeeeeeeeellllllllll. . ." Remy tickled him and the boy gasped through his giggling, "Ok ok! Yes!
Love you more than food! Yes! Ahahahaha! Stop!"

"You both know that Warren is very jealous of Remy, don't you?"

Bobby cuddled closer to the Caijun and smiled, "Well Remy is my only love so he had better get used to it."

"You must understand his view of the situation though." Cable ran a hand through his hair and shook his head, "Warren just found out that Remy is the one responsible for the loss of his wings, the one who made him fair game for Apacolypse, and now he has stolen. . ."

    "I din' steal not'in."

    ". . . stolen his best friend."

Bobby shivered and a tear made it's way down his cheek, "I hate him."

    "You don' mean dat cher."

"I do! I hate him for locking us up like this!"

"You don' like 'im much now, but non mon cher, you don' hate him."

More tears came and Bobby helplessly hide his face against Remy's chest.

"T'anks Cable. 'e really needed ta 'ear all dat righ' now."

The telepath sighed, this was only going to get harder.

Rictor walked into their room quietly and sat behind Star on his bed.

    "Go away Julio."

"I need to talk to you."

"I believe you have said enough."

    "I didn't mean. . . please. . . I thought you. . ."

"It is done. I do not care."

"Yes you do! You wouldn't be acting like this if you didn't!"

    "Go."

"No!" The Mexican mutant grabbed his friend in a tight hug, "Not until I tell you. . ."

    "Let go of me."

    "Never."

That made the Mojo worlder's struggles cease. "What?"

"I'm never letting you go again."

    "Julio. . ."

"I can't believe I almost walked out on the most precious thing in my life!"

"I need to hear the words Julio."

He smiled and kissed the thick neck before him, "I love you Star. I love you with all my heart."

    "Gaveedra."

    "Hm?"

    "My name, . . . is Gaveedra."

    "Gaveedra. . . It's a beautiful name."

"When it comes from your lips it is."

"I'm sorry I didn't give you time to explain. . . I was just ready to hear you say you hated the thought and I loved you so much and. . ."

"Shh, we are together now. No misunderstandings between us."

"Not one." Julio cuddled closer and smiled, "We should thank Remy and Bobby."

    "Yes, I. . ."

    "Guys! We're hoooooooome!"

    They both froze.

    "The X-men are back."

In the cells Remy and Bobby cringed at the words they had been dreading, "Remy what can we tell them?!"

"Hush cher. De fin' out one way or de other, dis way jus' a li'l sooner dan we plan no?"

    "But. . ."

Before anything else could be said Cyclops stood in the doorway staring at them, "Ok I want some answers. Now."

Bobby paled and he giggled nervously, "Uh. . . hi Cykes."

<Part 4>

Bobby and Remy only talked to Cyclops. They wanted to tell the others in their own time, but this was a necissary evil. When it was all out the optic Xman stared at them and then at Warren. All of them waited for him to say something. What he did say was as much a surprise as not.

    "Warren."

    "Yes Scott."

"You are not God and you have no right to try to change nature's course. Predjudic coming from a mutant, especially an Xman is. . ."

"It isn't the gender it's the man!"

Bobby instantly jumped to Remy's aid, "He isn't any worst than you Warren! He made a mistake and payed for it and now it's over! Done!"

    "It isn't that simple."

"But your joining apocalypse was? Face it! You're being a hypocrite!"

"Bobby." Remy smiled softly, "'s ok cher, I don' care wha' wings say."

Cyclops glarred and punched in the clearance code, cancelling the electric bars. "I've heard enough of this. We had this discussion before. Gambit has done his penance and you still punished not only him but your best friend! You need to think about your actions."

    "I was only. . ."

    "Get in."

    "What?!"

"You're staying in there for every hour that they were. When you come out maybe you'll have realised how irresponsibly you used your given powers." When the bars were back on, the leader of the X men turned to the lovers, "Like I said to Warren, prejudice among mutants is a joke, I don't have a problem with this and won't say anything about it to the others, but you should realize that this will be just as hard as dealing with your powers."

    "Non." Remy grinned.

Bobby nodded, "Yeah, because we were alone then, in this we have each other."

"Just don't let it interfear with your work."

"Yes sir!" Bobby made a mock salute and Remy dragged him out of the cell area.

Cyclops followed and locked the outter door as well. "What did I do to deserve those two?"

"You're an X-man, sometimes it's better not to ask."

    "Nathanial." He nodded at Cable.

    "Scott."

"What do you think about all this?"

"You did what I would have done." He shrugged, "I can't predict the future."

Cyclopes answered that witha snort and Cable rolled his eyes.

Remy tucked Bobby safely into bed and lay a cool cloth on his forehead, "Now we outta there you feel better soon."

    "I'm already feeling better."

"I mean de fever cher." Remy chuckled and kissed his amoureux.

"How are we going to tell them Remy? I mean you saw how X-force reacted. What if they kick us out? What if they hate us for it like Warren? I don't want to leave."

"I don't either mon petit, but if it comes to that, we be together an' that all dat matters, non?"

    "Yeah."

"It work out cher. I make it right. Jus' sleep now."

    "Mmm, sleep."

"Oui. Sleep. We worry 'bout de others when you're better."

    "I love you."

"I love you too mon chere. Sleep now. Gambit be here when you wake up."

As the sandy haired boy drifted into a healing sleep, Gambit walked to the window and looked out on the grounds of the mansion to called home. Bobby was right, he didn't want to leave either but if the X-men reacted baddly, and if Bobby was in danger of being hurt mentally or physically, he would leave in a second.

//Mon amoureux. My lover, my Bobby.//

A soft sound cme from the sleeping man's lips, a sigh. "Love you, Mmm Remy."

The Caijun smiled and lay beside his lover, "Love you too cher. Forever kind o' love."

Outside the door Marrow smiled and walked away. //They'll be ok. Maybe sometimes being tough isn't all that get's you through.//
