C and C is a thing of beauty and a joy forever.
Upon arriving back in their own time, the Gundam boys were enrolled in a special academy for preventer cadets. They were much more advanced than most of the students because of their time as pilots and running with the Reikai Tantai. Most of the students avoided them, unwilling to make friends with the people they saw as their highest competition. The boys didn't mind. They were having enough trouble inside their group without adding to it. Wufei hadn't taken leaving Anja and Kuronue well at all. And leaving little Kuro-chan had hurt him horribly even if he would never admit it. He was lost. His soul was hiding, hurting.
“Hey Wuuuufiiiiiiiieeeeee!” Duo teased, “Come sit with us.”
Wufei moved to sit on the ground beside the others and took out his lunch. He added halfheartedly, “its Wufei.”
Duo looked concerned.
“Wufei,” Quatre tried, “We all miss them, Anja and Duo were best
friends. But something called us back to our time, we were
lucky to have ever met them at all. Our being there could have caused
time to be altered.”
“I know.” He said, “But my heart doesn't.”
A large commotion broke their contemplation and they looked toward
the other students to see a slender, copper skinned boy with short
reddish/brown hair and two long bangs falling to frame his face. His hair
was shaved militarily short around the lower
sides of his head with the top longer creating a sharp, divided style.
He was dressed in hip hugging jeans and an open Leather
Jacket that fell just above his midriff.
On either side of him another boy walked, each at least a foot
taller than he. All in Leather jackets and jeans. The one on the
right had his Black hair short and full, but for a thick tail in the
back where his hair fell to the backs of his knees. He wore a
Long black duster and Knee high black boots, unlike his friend though,
he also wore a vest that tied up the front underneath the
leather. As they neared the boys could see his skin was a silvery blue
color, like Ice. And chips of crystal were protruding from
it, half way around one eye, from his jaw line, as if they grew right
out of his bone. The effect was as frightening as it was
beautiful. Duo silently wondered what kind of make-up he used to accomplish
that style.
The boy to the right wore his blue/black hair woven in intricate
patterns all over his head bunched around in the front it fell in
two thick braids up and then over to fall long over his chest. It looked
as if the hair was woven around something solid inside
those odd knots. He also wore a duster. One thing tied them all
together. Each wore a pendant around their neck. Bright and
sparkling silver that wrapped along the sides of a blood crystal. Each
crystal was shot through with different colors. The first
boy's was shot through with brown, the second with silver, and the
third with a violet blue.
They were only walking through the yard but the other boys all
moved away and gave them room to pass. The cadets the
group passed had fear and anger in their eyes. To their credit the
boys didn't scare them purposely. They just talked to one
another and ignored the fear that surrounded them; until
someone grabbed the red haired boy.
Then, the fight began. The boy slammed his fist into the other's
gut and slammed his hand into his opponent's neck. The cadet
fell, gasping for breath and all three of them growled down at him.
“Don't touch him.”
As they walked away, someone held out their foot and tripped him.
He sprawled out on the ground right at the Gundam
group's feet. The hand he used to catch himself was not human!
It was cybernetic! The metallic claw like fingers curled into
the ground as he pushed himself up.
They all stared at him. He looked so much like Anja! His hair
was a bit darker than Anja's and streaked through with deep
brown, but his bone structure was the same as the ningen girls had
been. He was Shorter than she, with a slim but strong
stature. One of his ears was pierced and then only once, His eyes ‘were’
kaleidoscope like Anja's, but One was a deep green,
brown and gold, the other was bright blue, gold and black. The boy
had only one flaw beside the robotic forearm and hand, but
it was just as large a one. Down from his forehead, over the bridge
of his nose, and down his cheek ran a horrible scar. The line of the scar
divided his face. One side was healthy and tan, the other was pale and
almost grayish. They couldn't even hazard a
guess about what had happened to him.
Wufei was the first to break his gaze away. It hurt too much.
“Kisama!” The other two boys had the attacker by his uniform. Their eyes promised pain and the poor fool was whimpering in fear.
“Let him go.”
“But He. . .”
He shook his head, “He's wet himself guys.”
Both boys looked down and snickered before they dropped him and moved to sit by their friend.
The shortest boy looked at the others with a question in his eyes.
“I am sorry for dropping in like that. Is he ok?” He nodded
toward Wufei.
“Someone we lost recently. . . You look like her.” Quatre explained carefully.
“Her?” He sat up and dusted himself off.
“No offense.”
He grinned and shook his head, “No worries ne? I've been mistaken
for a girl plenty of times.” He looked back at the cadet
who had tripped him, “Sorry I disturbed you.”
Duo grinned, “Hey wasn't your fault.” He offered his hand. “Hi. I'm Duo, this is Heero, Quatre, Trowa, and Wu-bear.”
“Wufei.” He corrected in a dead voice.
He blinked and took each one in.
“You all right?” Duo asked, unsure.
He nodded and shook his head to clear his mind, “I just got the worst attack of deja vu! Weird man!”
“. . . oh. . .” Duo didn't know what else to say. This was all very weird. He looked so much like her!
“You are the Gundam pilots aren't you.”
“Yes.” Quatre smiled.
“Awesome! I wanted to pilot a Gundam. Couldn't though.”
“Why not?”
“I hate guns.”
They stared at the boy then finally Duo spoke, “You still haven't told us your names.”
“Oh, gomen, I'm Loam.”
“Loam? Odd name.”
“It suits him though.” The second boy smiled.
“Yes, it does.” Quatre nodded.
He smiled and stood between the other two, leaning on them familiarly,
“The big guy,” His indicated the one with his hair in a
tail, “Is Sigh, and my other friend here is Mar. We have another friend
Shi, who isn't here today.”
Duo grinned, “Man after my own heart.”
“He had to work.” Mar added.
Duo grimaced, “Forget I said that.”
The boy grinned but stayed silent.
“Well, we just signed in so we should go get settled. See you around.”
They watched them brave the taunts of the other boys again and head toward the dorms.
“Why do they pick on Loam?”
“His scar scares them.” Wufei said quietly.
“What?”
“He had to have been very strong to survive whatever gave him
that. Did you see it went down his chest also? and I'm betting
over his arms and legs too. He must have great strength and endurance
to stand that. They are all very strong. It scares others,
so they try to feel big in spite of their fear by calling names and
pulling petty stunts like tripping him.”
“How mature of them.” Duo growled.
“. . .”
Wufei stood and left without a word to the others.
“What was all of that about?” Duo asked.
Quatre smiled, “I think Wufei has found someone to ease his hurt.”
//I just hope it isn't because of their resemblance to Anja
and her lovers.//
Silently, every Gundam pilot was echoing that concern.
At the dorms Wufei walked into his new room to find Sigh sitting
cross-legged on the corner bed sharpening some tiny scythe
shaped blades. Each was attached to a fine but strong thread, perfect
for hand to hand battle.
Loam sat behind him on the bed brushing his hair and Mar was hanging
upside down from the top bunk in front of the two
reading aloud from a book they all seemed to enjoy.
Wufei walked in quietly to stand in front of the group. “What are you doing in my room?”
Loam looked up momentarily and then back to his friend's hair, “We were assigned here. Hi roomie.”
Wufei almost groaned. //Why me? Why this? Its like having all three of them wrapped up in a wonderfully desirable but untouchable set!//
Mar looked up when silence answered his friend and frowned, “We can ask for a room transfer if it bothers you that much.”
Wufei shook his head, “it's fine.”
Loam smiled. “Good. ‘Cause I like you. Gods! I am glad they didn't
stick us with one of the other cadets! Man oh Man they
would have made life hell! Can you say prison?” Loam chuckled, “but
you're cool. Hey you wanna go get some sweet snow?”
“Wha. . .”
“Ice cream?” Sigh clarified.
“Uh. . .” Wufei's head was still trying to process the conversation.
Loam talked even faster than Duo! The only consolation
was that this one talked about ‘something’ and had the other two to
translate when something went over his head. “Yes?”
“Funness! Come on!” He grabbed Wufei's arms and yanked him out
the door. Mar and Sigh snickered and ran after them.
They both knew how intimidating their friend could be.
Duo looked up from his lunch to see four people zoom through the
yard, hop on two motorcycles and drive off. “Hey you guys
was that. . .?”
“Wufei.”
“And Loam, Sigh and Mar?”
The yard was buzzing with talk now mostly focused around those four names.
“Why do I get a bad feeling about this?” Duo asked no one in particular.
The four of them sat by the lake eating their ‘sweet snow.’ Loam
Smiled softly as he ate, leaning up against Sigh's chest. Mar
hadn't gotten any ice cream and was currently reclining on the grass,
his head in Loam's lap.
Wufei watched the three of them interact a while before he spoke,
“How did you get. . .” He motioned on his face where
Loam's scar was.
Mar tensed and Sigh's hand went around Loam protectively.
“Gomen. I didn't realize it was a painful topic.”
Loam laughed lightly, “They treat me like I'm going to shatter
at the slightest breeze. I'm fine with it. We had another friend, he
was very dear to all of us, but he had to leave. We were caught in
an fire when he left us. There was an explosion and I was
severely burned. Over 65 percent of my skin was gone. The doctors said
I wouldn't live 48 hours. But Mar found an
underground doctor who could help us. BlackJack is what he went by.
He performed a miraculous surgery on me and replaced all of the damaged
skin with an experimental, half living skin substitute that he constructed
with bits of skin given from my family
and these guys here. No one thought I would live but I did. The scar
isn't half as bad as it was, and We even found me a new
eye, it isn't the same color but they fit together well.”
“I have no complaints.” Mar smiled and reached up to run his hand over the smaller boy's cheek.
“Me neither.” Sigh kissed the boy's ear softly and Loam grinned, “Mm.”
Sigh chuckled softly, “It can be oddly erotic at times.”
Loam laughed and tipped his head back to look up at Sigh, “Your flirting will be your down fall. You do know that don't you?”
“As long as you're under me when I go down.”
“I like being on top.”
“And what about me?” Mar asked with false incense.
Loam chuckled “69 sandwich!”
“You mean you're all. . .”
“A trio, a quartet with Shi and with the other, a quintet. Does that make you uneasy?”
“No.”
Loam smiled, “Good, I’d hate to make you uneasy when we. . .”
The pilot's eyes widened as he realized what Loam had said.
Mar noticed his look and smiled, “Why else would we room together?”
Sigh grinned and licked the red head's ear tenderly, “There's an open door floor party tonight.”
A hungry smile passed over their faces and Wufei felt a shiver
travel through him, that look was so much like. . . no, he
wouldn't place Anja, Kuronue, and Shura's visage on them. -If- he decided
to love them it would be for them, not for their
likeness to people long dead in this time. “Fei?”
“Hm?” He glanced up and realized they had been speaking to him, “What?”
“We asked you to save a dance for us at the party.”
He just stared for a moment.
“You do swing that way don't you?”
“Yes I. . .”
“Good then!” Loam leapt to his feat pulling the other two with
him, “Shi will be there by that time too! Let's stop over for
supplies on the way back!”
Sigh stopped the hyper boy and licked the corner of his mouth. “Mmm.” He grinned, “Vanilla.”
Mar grinned, “You are such sloppy eaters.”
Loam leaned into the open arms and sighed, “I do it for the clean up.”
That made all of them grin again.
Sigh slipped his hand down to caress Loam's firm ass, “The showers have stalls with them here. Anyone feeling dirty?”
Loam nibbled his lip playfully and rubbed back against that questing palm, “Always Koi.”
“To the showers!” Mar called it out like a battle cry and jumped onto his bike.
Loam mounted his own bike and Sigh slid on behind him, purposely sliding tight against his warmth. “Nothing like a little power between your legs ne Loam.” Sigh quipped.
Loam wriggled just enough to turn him on and grinned, “Well Wu-man, jump on!”
Wufei mounted behind Mar and the four of them sped off toward
the nearest mall.
Duo pulled Heero through the mall with a huge grin plastered on his face. “We need provisions!”
“Duo I see no reason to buy anything. The school provides. . .”
“Awe Hee-chan! Half the fun is looking!”
Heero rolled his eyes and suddenly froze.
“Heero wha. . .”
“Look.”
Duo followed his lover's gaze and froze. That red head with the
scarred body, Loam, was running through the mall, jumping
around to face the others before darting of again. Mar and Sigh were
running after him but Heero's gaze was fixed on the blur
of black, white, and caramel that was Wufei, running with them. “Wu.
. . is he. . .”
Heero frowned, “Let's go, we should keep an eye on them.”
“Hai.”
Quatre and Trowa stood in a shop looking for furnishings for their
dorm room when a loud commotion caused them to look
up. They were just in time to see Loam, Mar and Sigh slide legs first
into a display to avoid the owner's broom.
“Get out! I said out! I don’ wan’ you freaks in ‘ere, you'll give me store a bad name!”
The three off them scrambled to their feet and ran out the door tripping over something they landed in a heap of limbs and hair.
“Injustice!”
The two pilots’ eyes widened when Wufei grabbed the broom and snapped it in half. “Wufei?” Quatre whispered.
Trowa nodded and ducked lower out of sight.
“GET OUT!” The store keeper screeched at Wufei's back as he walked to the writhing jumble of flesh on the mall floor.
“Wait. . . Wu-kun. . . ouch! That's -my- hair!. . . Umph!. . .
Loam could you get your. . . offa my. . . oh! Sorry Mar! Sigh!
Not in public! . . . It's not like I tried to end up in this position.
. . . Hey Mar nice ass. . . Loam!. . . what?!”
Wufei finally managed to help get them untangled and sat back with a relieved look on his face.
“Sorry Fei-kun.” Loam smiled, “That happens a lot. Hey good thing you were here this time ne?”
“Why does he treat you like that?”
Sigh leaned back on his elbows and shrugged, “We don't exactly
resemble model students or anything.” He grinned purposely
spreading his legs.
Loam chuckled, “Yeah, plus the fact that we aren't exactly secret about our. . . orientation.”
Mar nodded and helped the other two to there feet, “Then there's always the fact that we are all foreigners.”
Wufei stopped them there, “all right! I get it!”
An apologetic smile answered him, “Didn't mean to drag you into our fights.”
He shook his head, “It is unjust, therefor it is my fight as well.”
Loam's chest heaved once and he turned to bury his face and lose himself in the embrace of the two lovers.
“What did I say?”
“Our fifth lover,” Mar said quietly, rubbing little circles over
the shaking boy's back, “He was big on justice. You are so much
like him it. . .”
“Hurts sometimes.” Sigh finished for his lover.
Quatre bit his lip, his maternal instinct was to wrap the sobbing boy in a big hug and tell him they understood, but he stayed out of sight. A tap on his shoulder brought him round to face Heero and Duo.
“Shh.” Duo grinned, “We're spying too.”
“I am not spying.” Quatre insisted, “I'm looking out for Wu-kun’s welfare.”
Duo snickered, “so what you're saying is you're spying.”
“Of course.”
Wufei reached a hand forward and wiped a trail of blood away from Sigh's lips. “You must have hit. . .” He stopped and touched one of the crystals on the tall boy's face, pulled back, ad touched it again. “Those are. . . those aren't make-up, are they.”
The boy smiled and shook his head, “One hundred percent me.”
“How. . .?”
“Call it a unique skin disorder.”
Wufei felt like he had slipped into the twilight zone.
Loam turned from Mar’s arms to face out and smiled softly, “We're gonna miss the party.”
Sigh grinned, “Dirty dancing?”
Mar and Loam both broke into huge grins, “Yeah!”
Wufei just sighed and followed them back out to the bikes.
“Dirty. . .” Quatre began.
“Dancing?” Duo grinned, “Yosh! Come on Hee-koi!”
Heero was yanked away by the overly hot boy and Quatre and Trowa
quickly decided to follow them.
Wufei stood by one of the open windows, a scowl gracing his features.
His new room-mates had laid out some food and
turned their music on full blast then opened their doors and watched
people flood in. He didn't understand how they could be
so kind to the very people who had treated them like dirt just that
morning! The lights were all off except for a black light and
strobe that caused the student's motions to look chopped and harsh.
The effect on his three room mates was staggering.
Loam stood between Sigh and Mar. His smiled was blissful as the
three of them rocked together in a simulation of what Wufei
was sure they would finish once the party was over. Mar was licking
the smiling boys neck lustfully and Sigh's hands were
exploring his firm chest and thighs. They looked so right together.
The Gundam pilot had to turn away, //Like we used to.// His
eyes sought counsel in the stars. //Anja, tell me what to do. Guide
me back to your arms.// His hands tightened on the metal sill
and left indents of his fingers there.
“Shi!”
His attention was pulled back to the throng of people, too numerous
to fit comfortably into the small dorm room, when Loam
ran toward the door and tackle-glomped the figure standing there back
out into the hall.
Everybody stopped and waited until finally, another boy about
Mar’s height, walked inside, Loam still attached to his chest.
Then the music began again and the boy walked back to the group, embracing
them all in a large hug.
Wufei's eyes widened in recognition, “Koenma!”
Shi turned and his jaw hit the floor. “Wu-chan!”
The two of them fell into each other's embrace as if no time had
passed at all. They couldn't touch enough! Hands flew
everywhere as lips met for the first time in so long. Wufei had to
hold back the tears of joy he felt threatening. “Koe-chan!
God's I never thought I would see you again!”
The Godling merely held onto his lover, afraid to let go lest he disappear.
Loam, Sigh and Mar shooed everyone else out and shut the door then turned to the pair. “Shi?”
He looked up at the three of them and then back to Wufei, “We missed you after you left.”
“I missed you as well.” Wufei lowered his eyes, “Has Anja. . . did she live a happy life?”
“Hai.” Koenma nodded, “But she missed you terribly.”
Wufei looked up at his roommates, “And now you. . .”
“Meet the new generation of Reikai Tantai.”
“You are all lovers?”
“Keeps group morale.”
Wufei lowered his eyes, he knew being a God Koenma would have to take new lovers after the others passed on but it felt like a betrayal to the memory of his beloveds.
“Wufei?” Koenma lifted his lover's bowed head, “Look at me.”
Dark sloe eyes raised to the child God's and he asked, “Did you
choose them because they look and act so much like our
lovers?”
A slim fingered and graceful hand slid over the pilot's shoulder and he turned watery eyes to Loam. “Fei.” The boy's eyes pleaded with him.
Koenma smiled, “Look closer.”
“What?”
“At them. Look closer. Look passed the marks pain and life have
left on us. You already have an answer you're just afraid to
let it come forth.”
“I don't. . .”
Loam cradled Wufei's head back against him and murmured, “When
at night I go to sleep, fourteen angels watch and keep. .
.”
He stiffened and spun around so fast he almost fell, but that
didn't matter, nothing did except. . . “Anja.”
