<Part 1>

The road stretched out forever before him. White lines merging into one as he followed down the hot summer highway. Linsey absently turned up the AC and let his mind wander again. He was running away. He'd never run away from anything before! But Wolfram and Hart didn't like loose ends and when the young lawyer quit the firm he had become just that.

//What could I have done differently. Retrospect is 20/20.// He frowned. After a few very lowly deals, the firm had become obsessed with Angel and his Private Eye agency. They wanted him dust so they sent their best. Linsey. And he had failed. Failure was not taken well at Wolfram and Hart. //What was I suppose to do?! Kill the kid?!//

After loosing his hand to the vampire Linsey had been given one more chance. I cybornetic hand and a name. Spike. Angel's child, helpless against humans. . . //Easy job right? Two bad guys for the price of one.// Wrong. The bastards had forgotten to tell him that Spike had a human lover. A kid named Xander. Obviously the boy was fully aware that he was dateing a mass murderer and one of the undead. //or, how did he put it. . . the living impared.// Spike had rushed to the brat's rescue when Linsey'd entered the apartment and been shocked by the chip in his head. Xander had lost it and jumped the the blond's defence.

//They were willing to die for one another.// He sighed and blinked as something made an odd sound in his car. //Damn I can't stop now!// He steered carefully into a rest stop and opened the hood, a slimey green demon snarled up at him.

Linsey froze, but just as the thing was coiling to strike, a stake pierced it's big orange eye and it exploded. The slime burnt through Linsey's jacket. "Shit!" He tore it from him and watched it dissolve in the acidic stuff.

The lawyer looked up to thank whoever'd thrown the sharpened stick and found himself facing a man/child that stood maybe 5'8" with ripped jeans, a shirtless and well defined chest, Red hair tipped in bright blond, and lazy eyes of sky blue surrounded by midnight and flecked with gold. //When did I get poetic?// "Thank you."

    The boy shrugged, "It happens."

"Obviously it. . ." A rumbling caused the lawyers to glance toward the highway. His heart fell. They'd found him! A quick glance to his car showed him the hole the acid demon had melted in his engine. He was as good as dead.

Oz noticed the tensing in the man's shoulders and saw the convoy that had caused it. "Get in the van."

    "Wha. . ."

"I'm giving you a ride, get in the back." He opened the door and shut it tightly behind Linsey then pulled himself into the front seat. //Whatever those guys are after, they aren't gonna find it today. Never trust Suits and sunglasses.//

After He was sure he hadn't been followed, Oz turned back onto the highway he'd been traveling and kept driving. They'd need to pull over soon to eat and sleep. Thank God it wasn't a full moon. When he finally found a place to pull in for the night and  locked the doors after rolling up the tinted windows, he went into the back and grinned. The guy he'd picked up was laying half on, half off the matress he used for a bed and was drooling on the arm he was using as a pillow. //Must'a been beet. Wonder how long he was driving for.//

He pulled some fruit, bread, and cheeze from his cooler and lightly pressed the sleeping man's shoulder. "Hey."

Linsey felt the black viel of sleep pulling back and heard a gruff sounding voice call him. He blinked up at the man who'd saved him twice now and studied his face in question. "Where are we?"

"Arizona." he was handed a chunk of bread and cheese and an apple.

"Thank you. I owe you my life."

He shrugged and continued eating. Obviously not one for conversation.

    "I'm Linsey."

    "Oz."

Linsey smiled. Someone else who's name was as odd as his. Definitely fate at work here. "What are you planning on doing with me now?"

Those stormy eyes looked up from his dinner and Oz shrugged again, "Your call."

    "I have some money . . ."

He shook his head, "Keep it."

"Can I stay with yoou for a while? It'll confuse them if you're the one driving because they know how I think, but not you."

    "Sure."

    "I'll pay for. . ."

    "No. Keep it."

    "But. . ."

"Believe me, you'll be glad for it later." He put his leftovers away and slipped into the blankets on top of the matress. "There's room for two."

Linsey nodded and watched the man/child sleep. //Who 'is' he?! He kills a demon without blinking, doesn't want me to pay for his assistance, and falls asleep in the presence of a stranger like it was nothing. Even offered me part of his bed. Who is that innocent and that jaded all at once?//

Tired of mulling over impossible questions, He yawned and joined the warm body on the matress bed. Maybe things would make more sense in the morning. . .
_____________________

Things made considerably LESS sense in the morning. After a very restless and hot night of dreaming very naughty things about his rescuer,  Lindsey woke up to find himself wrapped around the younger man and being held quite closely in very strong arms. His groin instantly reacted and he fought the urge to just snuggle closer and stood slowly.

    "Sorry."

He jumped guiltily and looked down at his host. "What for?"

"I snuggle in my sleep. Forgot to warn you."

    "No need to warn."

He shrugged and slipped back into the front of the vehical. Lindsey followed and took up the other seat as Oz started the van up and pulled back onto the road.

"So. . . where are we going?"

    "Looking for someone."

    "Who?"

    "D'know."

The lawyer arched one delicate brow and chuckled, "You don't know."

    "No."

"Mind if I ask why you're looking for a nameless person?"

    "I have an. . . illness."

It was as if someone had struck him, "You're dying?"

    "No."

He didn't know if he should be releived or angry. This was getting old, fast. "I know you don't talk much but it'd be nice to know what's going on."

    "Tonight's a full moon."

"Yes, just like the callendar says."

    ". . ."

"You aren't going to tell me are you."

    "You'll know soon enough."

Lindsey wanted to scream, but if he was anything, he was patient. He could wait.

The conersation was interesting as they drove. Linsey talked and asked questions. Oz answered in as few words as possible. Linsey guessed and elaborated an dwhen he was right, Oz nodded. It was like 'facts of your life' 20 questions, but it was fun. The lawyer found himself laughing at almost silent jokes that only Oz could pull off and then annalysing them to see how he 'had' pulled it off. He may have been a man of few words, but the boy was smart.

"I was part of a law firm in LA. They handle very. . . unusual cases. I was ok with 'that' but they were into a lot of nasty stuff. They wanted to take down this detective by killing his son. I would have done it too. I was so much a part of their world. . . but when I got there, the guys kid, he had a boyfriend. When I went after one, the other dove right in. They would have died for each other. I couldn't do it after that. So I ran. The firm I work for doesn't do well with failure. That's pretty much where you found me. You really saved my life."

Oz nodded. "I was in a band."

Linsey smiled. In Oz talk that was worth a couple paragraphs of talking. "Woah! You're so wordy! Don't dominate the conversation like that. I wanna talk too."

That earned him a smile. Gods Oz's smiles were something! He could survive on those smiles alone for a long, long time.

"So you play, Rock and Roll?"

    "Sort of."

"There you go again. Not letting me get a word in."

    The smile grew.

"Was that your CD back there? Dingos Ate My Baby?"

    "yeah."

"Can we listen to it? I mean I wouldn't want to interupt your constant string of conversation but. . ." He raised his eye brows hopefully.

Oz laughed right out loud and Lindsey swore he could hear people cheering. //Victory!//

"So where did you grow up?"

    "Sunnydale."

Lindsey shot strait in his seat, "That's where the guys son lives! Damn you lived there? That's one scarey town! You aren't one of those people in denile about the things that go on there at night are you?"

Oz chuckled with an almost self effacing smile. "Nope."

When they pulled over again that night, Oz made sure it was far off of the main road and away from anyone who may see the old van. "It's been nice to have someone to talk to." He told Lindsey.

Lindsey laughed out loud. "Well you're such a thrillign conversationalist!"

Oz smirked then his face fell again. "You'll probably want to leave for tonight. Sleep outside maybe."

    "Why?"

    "Full moon."

Oz was calmly closing large metal shackles around his wrists and ankles. He's bright blue eyes carefully trained on his motions and not on the man in front of him.

    "I'm no astronomer."

    "Not what I meant."

    "What do you mean?"

    "I'll . . . change."

"What? Are you one of those psychos that only goes nuts during the full moon?"

    "No."

Lindsey sat down defiantly. "Not a good reason for me to go then."

The boy smiled saddly. "Just stay out of my reach after it happens."

"After what h. . ." He swallowed hard, "Oh. After that happens."

Oz's eyes turned black as coal and his skin darkened and grew furry. His bones reshapped themselves in plain sight until he no longer stood totally upright. His teeth sharpened and gnashed as he howled in angry pain and stared up at Lindsey. The lawyer was shocked into stillness as the wolf before him strained at the choak collar around his neck and sniffed at him carefully.

Working for Wolfram and Hart he'd seen Werewolves of course, but only at a distance or if they were definitly on his side or were under the firms control. This time none of those precausions held true. Still he was facinated by the small bits of the wolf that made him distinguishable as Oz. He held out his hand in a fist, as one might to an uneasy dog. Waiting. Wanting to get a closer look but still wary of the canine.

Oz sniffed the hand then gently placed his mouth around it. Not biting hard enough to break the skin, but enough to hold it there.

Linsey's heart was pounding in his ears. He could feel the wolf's hot breath on his skin and the moist tongue laped at his knuckles as the beast panted. A slight tug pulled him closer to the werewolf. He was in easy reach of it now but somehow not afraid. It was Oz. For some inexplicable reason Linsey knew he was safe with Oz in any form.

A large paw tore at his shirt, ripping it but not harming the skin beneath. Then large paws were pressing him onto the floor and the wolf let go of his fist to lap at his face and chest. Imprinting him with his scent. Marking him. For the first time the man realized that he was at the mercy of this creature. Instead of terror, desire raged through him. He jumped when the wolf nuzzled his jean clad erection and those large teeth and claws once again shredded through his clothing until he was free from the restraining cloth. He began to shiver in horror and anticipation. He was so hard it hurt! For this creature who wasn't even human at the moment! No matter that he would be Oz again in the day light. Oz didn't have claws and fangs!

The wolf crouched over him and growled low until Lindsey spread his legs in compliance. sitting up on it's haunches, the wolf's thick cock pressed eagerly at his opening and Linsey panted, watching the golden eyes above him as the beast slammed into him, making him scream and arch up with pleasure. "God! Oh God!" All thoughts fled and he moaned and writhed despiritly.

The creature's haunches pumped as it thrust into the welcome hole and the werewolf howled his ownership as he shot into the lawyer's ass just as Linsey released his own load onto both of them. Man and were- wolf collapsed but the base of the wolf's cock swelled, he stayed hard and stuck inside Linsey for a long time after. The man absently stroked the coarse fur, reveling in the feel of the hardness inside him. This was an unexpected development. Not an unpleasent one however. The wolf growled soft and content on top of him and bit gently into his neck. Marking him.

//MARKING ME?! SHIT!// He thought back to everything he'd read about were-creatures and wolves in general. He'd just been claimed by a wolf. A werewolf. Claimed as in mated to. Mated. . . shit! Wolves mate for life! //What have I gotten myself into?! Shit!//

As if it could sense his unease, the wolf lapped at his face and neck tenderly and he almost wept for the feel of it. The creature really and truly cared for him. It loved him as deeply as a wolf could. How would Oz react to this though? Did he share the wolf's choice, or would he ask Lindsey to go? //and could I leave him?//

Another thought occured to him then. //He BIT me!// He shivered in slight fear, //Damn I can feel the blood, he broke the skin. Shit! If your bitten by a werewolf doesn't that mean. . . oh damn. Damn! Shit! I do NOT need this! I leave the firm and first thing I do is get turned into a werebeast. Perfect! Shit!//

//Calm Lindsey. Calm down. So I'm mated to a werewolf. A MALE werewolf. A male werewolf with a really sexy butt as a human, but STILL a male werewolf. He bit me in the afterglow therefore 'I' will be a werewolf next full moon and we will probably do all sorts of kinky wolf thi. . . this is not helping Lindsey!//

Finally, a half an hour later, the wolf's erection wilted enough that he could pull out, licking his mate clean. Lindsey sat up and the wolf settled across his lap. //Shit.//
____________________

Oz woke up with a very hazy and content feeling. His wolf was pleased. His wolf was never pleased after being chained up all night. So what was different this night from others? Gradually he became aware of something firm and warm beneath him. Flesh! //No! Oh no! I didn't get away again! I didn't kill! Oh God tell me I didn't kill someone!// He tensed and then tensed more as a soothing hand began stroking his back sleepily.

//Stroking me. That's good. Whoever it is is alive then.//

As he regained control over his body, his opened his eyes slightly and yawned. something popped into his mouth! He struggled to focus his eyes and fould himself looking at a man's groin. That mean the thing in his mouth. . . he pulled back and sat up quickly. "shit."

    "That's what I said."

    "You're naked."

"You shreaded the only clothes I had and refused to let me stand up all night. My legs are asleep and my ass is permanantly flat now thank you."

"Why did I . . ." The memories from the night before slipped slowly to him and his cool face almost cracked. As it was however, only his eyes brow arched. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah. Just a little sore, not bad. You?"

    "Wierded."

    "Wierded?"

    "Wigging."

"Really." Linsey grinned. Wigging must look alot different when Oz did it. He looked perfectly rational.

    "Shit."

    "yeah."

"You know Wolves mate for life, right?"

"So are you going to hold me against my will if I want to leave?"

    "No."

"No?" Linsey hadn't been expecting that. He'd expected the boy to do anything to keep him there. This break was too clean.

"If you want to go, Go."

    "And you?"

"I'll be upset. Can't be helped. All pain ends some time."

Lindsey blinked and fought to keep his expression calm. Oz was obviously willing to let him go and leaning on the hope that Lindsey didn't know that his leaving would mean the werewolf's death. No hope there. He'd seen Werewolves who'd lost their mates. To death or life the reaction was still the same. The wolf would slowly go insane with grief until the human had to kill himself in order to keep their wolf from killing others. Or in other cases the wolf took over completely and a hunter was sent out to finish them off.

No. No way could he condem Oz to that. Sure he hadn't known the guy very long, but he had known him long enough to see that he was kind and innocent and strong and courageous. He was a wonderful guy. Lindsey knew he could do worst. There was even a chance at love here. He'd almost given up on finding love, but this man child. . . if he was still able to love, he would easily fall for Oz.

Well. I guess the decision is clear then. But what about Oz. How does he feel about all of this? "And if I don't want to go? What do 'you' want? Not the wolf. You."

    "I am the wolf."

Such a simple answer had no right being so complex.

<Part 2>

The driving that day was silent. Oz missed the questions and conversation from the day before but he didn't try to rekindle the easy atmosphere. It would come back if it was meant to, and if not. . . well, no use being fatalistic. Lindsey was obviously in shock. It wasn't all that surprising either. He'd been fucked and claimed by mans best friend. . . . ? . . .

Oz tried not to but a small noise escaped his closed mouth and instantly Lindsey's eyes were on him. "What is it?"

The smaller man shook his head and fought back the need to laugh out loud at the absurdity of the situation. He knew if he began to laugh, he would also cry. It just wasn't fair. He really LIKED Lindsey, and now the wolf had probably assured that 'that' wasn't going to happen.

    "Are you alright?"

The werewolf really wanted to hit something. "Yeah."

    "What was so funny then?"

    "Man's best friend."

Lindsey blinked, thought a moment, then blinked again. Then he began to chuckle, deep and hearty, "I guess that carries a whole new meaning to us now doesn't it."

Oz's lips quirked up a bit and he nodded.

"Are you. . . do you wish we hadn't."

    "I like you."

Lindsey groaned, "I like you too but your conversation skills are going to make heart to hearts like pulling teeth."

    "Sorry."

"Don't apologise,  This whole situation is my fault."

    "Oh?"

"I should have kept back like you said. But when you transformed right in front of me. . ."

    "Beastiality is a sin."

Lindsey nodded slowly, "But you aren't really a beast. You're a man."

"That could be seen as a sin too."

    "I was a lawyer, not a priest."

Oz nodded, "I would like to try. . .  to make this work."

    "Me too."

    "What about your firm?"

    "What about your friends?"

The man child let a slow smile form on his soft lips, "It won't be easy."

"Nothing worth anything is ever easy Oz. The first thing we'll have to do is find somewhere no one will find us. We need to learn each other. To let whatever we have get a start."

    "Yeah."

    "Do you want this?"

    "Yeah."

    "Oz?"

    "Hm?"

    "Pull over."

Oz blinked but pulled onto the shoulder of the road and shut of the engine. He swivled his seat to look at Lindsey and waited for some explination as to 'why' they were stopped on the side of the road.

Lindsey ran his fingers along Oz's jaw, "I want this too." He whispered softly. "I've never known anyone like you and these feelings are completely new to me. I'm not used to not being in control."

    "Neither am I."

    "The alpha male."

    "Yeah."

"Do you think we stand a chance between your alpha wolf and my stubourn streak?"

"Only one way to find out."

Lindsey moved closer and brushed his lips over Oz's lightly, "Yes."

    "You smell good."

The lawyer laughed out loud, "That's a first!"

Oz blushed but grinned and licked at his lover's neck.

    "Mmm, y. . . you feel good."

One courner of his mouth quirkedup in a lopsided smirk, "So do you."

"We should. . . we have to keep driving."

"Yeah." Oz ignored the wheel completely and leaned in closer to Lindsey, lapping at his sweat slicked skin hungrily.

    "Oz. I want you. Oz."

The boy's eyes glarred yellow and Lindsey stood transfixed. "I am your Alpha." The voice was Oz's only rough. Deep. Like the wolf was coming out through it.

"Yes." Lindsey arched inot the touches, the tongue. He liked this. He liked giving up the reins and just going with it. As long as Oz was the one taking control. Some deep seeded part of him said Oz was to be trusted. nother, said he was to be loved. Both were singing as the man child bit into his neck, marking him once more.

    "Mine."

"Aaaa." He gasped and arched up, "Oz, Oz more."

"Untill death my mate." The wolf growled.

    "Yes!"

"Lindsey." Oz was back. pushing hard into him, their pants around their ankles and shirts bunched up abouve their chests. It was the picture of wild passion and ownership by both men. A claim to each other.

    "Oz, My alpha, My Oz."

They came hard and long and then collapsed in the passenger seat. Oz facing away from the windsheild with Lindsey on his lap, still burried inside the panting lawyer.

    "That. . . that was. . ."

    "The wolf."

    "Yeah."

    "He slipped out."

    "It's ok."

    "Did I hurt you?"

Lindsey grinned, "Are you going to ask me that every time we have sex?"

    "Did I?"

"I'd tell you if you did." Lindsey nuzzled his alpha's neck, "I loved that. Want more."

    "We have to drive."

    "I know."

"The knot will release in a few minuets."

"I don't mind." He smiled and cuddled closer, loving the feeling of Oz filling him, still hard even after they'd climaxed. Hard for him. The idea was heady. "I never want you to leave."

    "Might make driving a challenge."

    "Then lets not drive."

Oz smiled and smoothed the sleepy man's hair loving.

Lindsey pressed up into the stroking palm and almost purred in delight. "That's nice."

Oz felt his cock finally release it's knot and slipped from his lover, ignorring the moan of protest that recieved. He moved the older man to the back bed and lay him down to rest. The next town would be the one. They weren't going any further. Hs mate wasn't used to running and the road and travel was wearing him out.

A state sign declared they were nearing Las Vegas. Oz almost smiled. What better place to get lost in?

When Lindsey woke up Oz was sitting beside him, "Where are we?"

Oz offered all of the warmth a man could into his eyes, "Home."

The lawyer sat up slowly and looked around. They were in a hotel. Not a shabby one either. Sterile though. They'd have to live there a while before it became a real  home. "It's a hotel."

Oz nodded, "I'm working here now. This is the pay."

"But what will we use for. . ."

"They provide food too, and I keep my tips."

    "Tips?"

    Oz blinked.

    "Are you playing music?"

    "Dancing."

"I didn't know you could dance."

Oz shrugged and stood to collect a tray and bring it to the bed. "Eat."

Lindsey ate but  his eyes never left Oz. "When do you start?"

    "Tonight."

He nodded, "Do they have another opening I'm sure I could. . ."

    "NO!"

The poor man almost jumped out of his skin! "What?"

"No." Oz repeated more quietly. "I don't want you dancing, but they need another bar tender."

"Oh." He smiled smally and nodded, "I can do that too."

The smaller man gathered him close and nuzzled him tenderly, "Sorry."

"What's so bad about me dancing?" Lindsey asked.

That night Lindsey found out. The bar was full of men in different states of dress, but the man writhing on the stage made him stop cold. "You're going to be a 'stripper'?!!!"

    Oz shrugged.

Lindsey burried his face in his alpha's neck and groaned, Oz didn't even smile much. A stripper?! This was going to be painful.
