1. Captain, 28th April 1861, election, commission expired May 3, 1861, Dalton, Georgia, 2. promoted Lt. Colonel. Appointed from Alabama, October 3, 1862. Rank dated from same date. Date of confirmation: October 3, 1862. 3. Wounded July 21, 1861 at First Manassas in the arm 4. Promoted to Brigadier General on October 15, 1862 5. Wounded at Cold Harbor, January 3, 1864. Bullet fractured his skull and injured his left eye 6. Recommended for promotion to Major General on March 20, 1865. He never received the promotion 7. Paroled at Charlotte, N. C., May 25, 1865. |
