The Los Angeles Clippers started slowly out of the gates as they were 0-5 before getting their first victory. Captain and All Star Point Guard Jason Kidd recorded 6 triple doubles and for the second consecutive year won the UBA assist title. Kidd also earned first team all UBA for the second consecutive year. Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Antonio McDyess made All Star appearances joining Kidd. Abdur-Rahim finished 5th in the league in scoring, McDyess finished 6th. This was a year in which the Clippers earned the penchant for drawing fouls, and who would argue, between Kidd's drives, Abdur-Rahim's low block manuevers and McDyess offensive prowess at the rim, it was no wonder that the Clippers earned that feat. Things came together for the Clippers as they put together a 24-4 January and February.
