The Los Angeles Clippers picked a pair of frontline starters this past season. First they selected UBA Rookie of the Year Shareef Abdur-Rahim with the first overall pick in the 1996 UBA draft. Then they acquired pogo stick hopper Antonio McDyess. They acquired McDyess from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Brian Grant, Bryant Stith and the Clippers 1st round pick, which became the 6th overall pick. The new acquisition pushed the timetable a little as the Clippers failed to enjoy a winning season for the fourth season in a row. All Star point guard Jason Kidd missed various parts of the season with a shoulder injury. Though, the future is bright for this franchise.
