RAIL

RAIL (Residents Against Installing Light Rail) is a grassroots citizens group that is concerned about the way that OKI is presenting the myth of light rail . OKI has already spent millions of our tax dollars on this project and continues to receive a not recommended rating from the FTA.

According to OKI's own data, the air quality will be improved by 0.1% by doing TSM and there will be no improvement by adding Light Rail. Nitrogen Oxide and Carbon Dioxide levels will actually increase if Light Rail is added to TSM.

Remember people, we used to have streetcars in Cincinnati, and they were replaced by buses. Why? Because the buses were much more flexible and able to meet the changing demographic needs of Cincinnati and the surrounding communities. This has not changed. Light Rail is on a fixed track, so if this route is not successful, they can't move it. If a bus route is unsuccessful, it could be changed in a matter of days.

OKI has consulted with an advertising expert , who told them they will need to spend more than $500,000 promoting this project, and an expert from St.Louis who said " light-rail's impact on reducing traffic congestion should be emphasized , even though the effect is minimal." The lies and misinformation that are being presented to Greater Cincinnati are also being presented elsewhere as this nationwide $400 Billion boondoggle continues.
