Sang Frois-

Cold blooded. Nakago does what needs to be done, and he does it in the most efficient way possible. Begging him or attempting to appeal to his emotions will be, in a sense, about as useful as spitting in the wind. Unless one serves a purpose, the seishi sees no reason to show mercy. Every action he takes serves a purpose toward his needs alone. Affections are nothing more than a mask he wears because he must feign to care about the Seiryuu no Miko and the other seishi in order to gain his greatest dream. He uses everyone to this ultimate end, for Nakago does not believe in things such as love or attachment. He shows no emotion, either, save perhaps an ironic and detached sort of amusement at the actions of others. He is not a stone, nor does he speak with a monotone voice, he is merely detached from the rest of the world, cold and alien in how he interacts with people and within situations. It is a frustrating thing to those who attempt to find a soul or heart in a man who has abandoned both. There is simply nothing there to appeal to, not anymore. Emotions are a weakness, and he would prefer to use them against others to manipulate them to his purposes rather than display them himself and open himself to attack, pain, or persuasion. Only strength, power, and ability mean anything to him, and one would have to be at least his equal to earn anything other than a grudging acceptance. In the end, only his own plans and strategies are what matter. The ruined lives and battered souls he leaves in his wake are of no consequence to him.

Logically Persuasive-

Logic and rationale are weapons, just as any sword or sai. Nakago wields such with a precision that is nearly frightening, able to talk with a weight to his tone that makes anything he says seem the logical and obvious choice or the most obvious answer to a nagging question or uncertainty. He makes betrayal of a dear friend seem somehow righteous, killing an innocent as an unavoidable act, and the most heinous and immoral acts are justifiable because it was a means to an important end. As he once said to Yui in the anime... "To get anything done, humans must be cold hearted." For this reason, when becoming persuasive in this manner, he leeches out all warmth from any reasonings, blanketing the target of his logic in the seemingly cold truth of the matter.

The Flame-

A flame to attract moths, that is how the seishi centers himself in the scheme of things. The other Seiryuu seishi, the Seiryuu no Miko, even some of his enemies, all of them circle like planets rotating the sun that is Nakago. And like a flame, his sheer presence, manipulative intelligence, and commanding stance will consume any of them if they come close enough to have their powdery wings singed. Nakago is a true leader. He has the stance, capability, and knowledge of one born to control the masses. People look up to and respect him not because he is likable, such as Hotohori is, but because he is capable, accomplished, and intimidating enough to demand such without speaking a word. The weight of his gaze and the sharp, yet sensual tone to his voice garner trust where one might normally be wary. He is convincing when needed, commanding when called for, and sensual if necessary.

Manipulative-

Nakago knows what strings to pull to make puppets dance for him. He may be a cold-blooded bastard, but he has an uncanny ability for being empathetic, sensing what a person needs most and imitating concern or solicitous commiseration. All the while he's merely seeing that an end result of this coddling is in his favor and furthers his agendas. It's a lot like making a bargain with the devil, only Nakago doesn't require one to sign their name in blood to a document. Battles are not always won by might alone and the seishi is as adept at emotional blackmail, rationalization, and being oddly assuring as he is at combat prowess. Often this is his first attempt at being persuasive. And if this does not seem to assuage someone's inner misgivings, he will then refer to cold logic to get his way. (Detailed above.) On a side note, as part of his manipulations, Nakago does not reveal any more than he has to. He does not explain himself, or his actions, or how he achieved something unless the irony strikes him to speak up. Those who he wishes to know already do, others will have to put up with his vague assurances that things simply are as they are now and to put their need for the how's and why's aside.
On the flipside of this, he can be incredibly cruel and torturous with this particular trait as well. Both to enemies and those who surround him as 'allies'. That sensuous voice dispenses cruel taunts and vicious truths as easily as letting words of comfort or assurance slip past his lips.

Dominant-

Even though he admits to being a protector of the Seiryuu no Miko, Nakago refuses to take a back seat to her, nor does he allow any of the seishi to be anything other than respectful to him. Nakago is the undisputed leader of the Seiryuu seishi, for his powers and presence far outweigh theirs and the blonde is well aware of it. If anyone forgets, he will calmly remind (usually in a way that will not be pleasant for the offender). Yui may order him around all she likes, but in truth, the seishi sees himself as the true leader of both seishi and Miko and will do as he pleases and as he sees fit. He will obey the Miko only if it suits his purposes, be it that it temporarily assails her worries, puts up an air of obedience in front of others, makes her feel as if she is the true one in charge when he wants her to feel such or follows along with what he already has planned (or even the odd occurrence where he actually agrees with her edicts or likes what she has decided). When it comes down to the wire, however, Nakago is unmovable as a mountain and will do what he sees best, regardless of who is supposedly tugging on his leash. Actually, he has no leash, he is the leash holder as far as he is concerned, a puppet master who will pluck the strings of those around him at will. Nothing is or will be planned that the seishi does not -want- to happen.

Unflappable-

Nakago isn't the type to give in to the urge to show anger or indignation at an insult. Instead of frowning or snarling or otherwise showing signs of one having gotten his proverbial goat, he just smiles... and then beats the ever-living snot out of the offender. Now, one might think that actually giving in to take any action of retribution on the offender does not rank unflappableness, but Nakago does it in a way that seems cool and composed, a sheer and definite purpose as opposed to blind rage guiding his actions. It is nigh impossible to anger the seishi in mundane ways with mundane insults. The only reason he bothers at all to punish one with a wagging tongue is to remind the individual who is top dog, and that forgetting such will prove very painful. A method of psychological conditioning, if you will, so that he can teach one immediately not to be so flippant in the future. Insult Nakago, pay the price. Behave, and he will allow you to exist. Maybe. Also, the seishi does not allow much to phase him. When things fail or do not go as planned, he simply moves on to the next plan or plot without wasting time lamenting the failure of another. Time is of the essence and if one wallows too long in pointless frustration and crying over spilt milk, then one deserves to lose, in the end. There are many ways to skin a cat, after all, if one way doesn't work, just try another angle.

Pain and suffering. *.* Pain and suffering in others. *.*!!! This is something Nakago takes great pleasure in. It is also a way of relieving stress, seeing as the man is a miser when it comes to his own emotions and the displaying thereof. Death, battle, killing, all these things relieve him when things seem dark for himself or for his plans. He'll crush a canary to relieve tension, enjoy the sting of the whip on someone else's back, and even quietly revel in the emotional undoing of an enemy. At times, he will even be openly cruel, as if he laughed at the cosmic unfairness of the universe by mocking his enemies. Most of the time, however, he is unwilling to prolong things, simply wanting them done so he can move on to his next goal. His cruelties know no bounds, nor does he seem concerned by the morality of his actions. Nakago has a morality that is all his own, though it would not at all be considered natural or normal by the majority's definition of the word.

Darwinist-

The strong shall survive and the weak shall die by the wayside. That is the way of things, be it in social settings or the animal kingdom. It is the way that Nakago lives his life. Those who are foolish, who lose control or display glaring weaknesses and flaws, deserve the death or the punishment awaiting them. Nakago is strong, and considers himself top of the proverbial food chain, power-wise. Similarly, he expects those he must work with to be as strong as he. Those cancers that surround him are removed as soon as they are realized. Those who cannot be removed because they are necessary for whatever reason are at least held in contempt (even if he never voices such contempt, it is there all the same) and discarded as soon as their usefulness is at an end.

The Divine Comedy-

Fate lead Nakago to kill his mother, and then his father, and watch as his best friend was slaughtered in front of him while he stood by. Fate? Or just one giant, cruel joke? Oh yes, all the world is one great joke to Nakago and goodness and fairness are useless ideals clung to by those too ignorant to know better. All of it is something to be observed from a distance and laughed at. The actions of others are no more than ants working in a giant nest. Nakago finds the efforts of others to be personally amusing, especially when they make the sorts of mistakes he fully expected and predicted ahead of time. Not much surprises the seishi and he might even go out of his way to make something interesting, if it suits his whims. He enjoys watching some of his plans coming to fruitation, if he is not personally involved with them, or just to make sure he does not need to step in and finish things himself. The world is a cruel and terrible place, and Nakago has merely joined in among the wolves, to prey upon the sheep still sleeping in their own ignorance.

Ruthless-

Nakago has many goals and agendas in his life. And all of these ends must be carefully plotted out to be seen to the finish. If someone or something gets in the way of these plans, he will not attempt to sidestep such things unless he has no other choice. No, he will simply remove the problem quietly (or not so quietly, depending on what's in his way, mind you) and continue forward unabated. Removing said problem can be done in a number of ways, be it murder, manipulation or capture, but it will be done all the same. He doesn't have time to waste on trivialities, for his goals -will- be completed. One way or another.

Prepared-

Impatience, sloppiness, and recklessness are flaws, and Nakago loathes such things with a passion. If one wishes to accomplish important things, then one must be willing to plan and wait for them to come to fruition. Indeed, the seishi is extremely patient and can wait for years of careful plotting and planning to see a goal accomplished in the precise manner he wants. Things may not always go as planned, there are always setbacks, after all, but Nakago always has a back up plan established. He does not approach a problem without coming up with several solutions... and executing all of them just in case. It is far better for one to be safe than sorry. The Boy scouts motto, 'Always be prepared', is something he takes to heart, though Nakago is certainly NO boy scout. He approaches a problem from several angles, and attempts to predict all logical outcomes, making plans for each. If one or two fail, then he always has other options toward achieving his ends waiting in the wings. It is rare that Nakago is caught off guard or left with no recourse. He isn't perfect or all knowing in any sense, but he always seems to know the strengths and weaknesses of his enemies (and even his allies!) and how to use those weaknesses against them. So many of his plots are interwoven into so many areas that it's a wonder the seishi can keep up with it all, but somehow he manages and with seemingly little effort.

Vengeful-

There is a reason why Nakago doesn't get angry. He just gets even. Life has been extraordinarily cruel to the man, and he aspires to be the pinnacle of what his abilities will allow in order to closer to achieving his greatest goal: To destroy everything, make the whole world suffer for the pain and horror he's known in his life. Though he is cool and utterly composed on the outside, this is his rabid and ultimate obsession. To be a God, and to ravage the world that destroyed everything he had ever known and tore apart his innocence like papers fluttering in the wind. Oh he -will- have his revenge, for it is the most motivating and driving force in his life. It is why he allows himself to defer to Yui and at least attempt to get along with the other seishi. He will literally do anything to obtain his vengeance. Not just on the Emperor that ordered the wholesale genocide of his people, not just on the Kingdom that fostered such hatred toward the Hin, but the whole -world- for it is a cruel, unwholesome and festering wound that must be dug out like a cancerous tumor. This includes the sanctamonious and imperfect Creators and caretakers of it. He wants vengence on the Heavens as much as he does on the Earth.
On a less grand scale, Nakago neither forgets nor forgives a slight or strike against him. He might allow a delay between the moment of insult or injury and the moment he extracts retribution for it, but he will, eventually, find a way to repay in kind what was given to him.

Quietly Powerful-

Though Nakago is a powerhouse beyond compare, he does NOT use these powers openly, and in fact has a higher tendency to rely on his own skills as a warrior unless dealing with enemy seishi or enemies of obvious above human capabilities. Many of these powers displayed below didn't even come into play until Nakago was battling Tamahome in the ending of the actual anime. Nakago loathes that Seiryuu chose him as a Seishi though the irony of it does amuse him if he thinks about it. He pays no homage to the Dragon God, and instead chooses to embrace himself as an eventual Diety, so long as he can manage to see his long term goals brought to reality. If he can solve a problem without relying on his seishi powers, he will do so. However, he doesn't mind using said powers to intimidate or subdue others, should it become necessary.
