Who: Irvine Kinneas and Selphie Tilmitt Where: Irvine's Dorm room. Why: Irvine's got a belated birthday gift for Selphie. Warning: Extreme mushy stuff in here, as well as kissy kissy scenes. If this kinda thing makes you vomit, it's recommended that you don't read this log. Date of log: July 17th, 2000.
Scene change... Tada! In Irvine's room. Scene 489b, take one. Aaaaaac...tion!
The room isn't in too much of a shambles, in fact, it just looks cluttered... which is how it usually looks. He tosses off the bandana he'd been wearing, flicking on his usual hat. Ah, much better. Well... now to find the present...
Selphie takes no pause in plopping on the bed. *Fwump.* "I wish we got to disguise more often... that was -fun-!" Just an idle comment -- she's back in her normal outfit, mind you. Kicking her feet, she glances around -- make it look like she forgot about the present. n_n
Opening the little lockeresque closet, Irvine rummages through it, remembering he'd left that box in here somewhere... hmmm... He leans back to glance at Selphie, wrinkling his nose at her comment, "Nah, I prefer my hat anyday." And the rest of his cowboy trappings. Then, back to looking through the closet. Geesh, *everything* got tossed around.
Selphie grins to herself, streeeetching -- man, it feels like it's been a month since that party. Aaah. Again playing it dumb, she blinks widely over to the cowboy. "Whatcha lookin' for?" Sheesh.
A dark sounding chuckle, but Irvine doesn't tilt back again. He knows Selphie's onto him. Well, he thinks he does. Ah hah! There it is. Now why did he tuck it up there in the first place! Probably cause he thought he'd remember he put it up there, then promptly forgot.
Selphie does that all the time! With such objects as her soda can, her lunch, and undergarmets. Either way, she hrmph!s good-naturedly, leaning back on her hands, comfortably. "Wee~eell? o/~
Closing the closet, which doesn't want to until the third time he tries, Irvine seems to be holding something behind his back. He sits on the edge of the bed, keeping it hidden still. Heh. Make her try for it. This is fun.
Selphie perks as she sees the closet close, smirking as it's stubborn and such. "--?" She smiles wide, biting her lip. "...Well? C'mon!" She tucks her feet up onto the bed, kneeling, sitting on her feet. "Gimmie~!"
Irvine shakes his head, that hat giving him so much attitude again, just by its presence. "Hmmm... come and get it." He grins playfully. Uh oh... Flirt mode!
Selphie uh!s in protest, crossing her arms. "Presents aren't -presents- if you have to -work- for them! Then they're -rewards-." But, even as she speaks, she moves to peek and reach around his back, grinning. "-Gimmie-!"
Irvine laughs, twisting slightly to keep the present just out of reach. Then he holds it above his head. It's a little silver box with a red ribbon tied *just* so, though it's slightly mashed thanks to being tossed around. Ah well, he did try.
Selphie doesn't care about the ribbon. She'll just rip it off! "--Errgh!" is her cry of protest, but she's enjoying this, you can just -tell-. "I'll make you sing in the Festival," she threatens, even as she rises up on her knees and tries to reach!
With a look of mock horror, Irvine intones, "Ooooh no, wouldn't want to have to do that!" He's enjoying this far too much himself, and just as Selphie does reach up for it, he moves to tackle her backwards, trying to pin her down lightly.
Selphie grr!s, nose scrunched, the whole bit. Angry is -not- what she gets across, but ah well. And she opens her mouth to threaten further, but -- "Gyhiiah!" Indeed!, she oof!s onto the bed, and is rather pinned. Lightly, or not. Lips pursing up in mock anger, she ooooh!'s. "You're reeeeally on thin ice -now-, mister."
Irvine laughs, obviously not too terribly intimidated at the moment. He leaves the little box on Selphie's chest before sitting back again, letting her up. But *only* after giving her a quick kiss. That irritating little smile is back on his lips. Now we'll see how long he stays on thin ice.
Blinking down at the little box on her chest, she really didn't expect the kiss. But no matter! She doesn't mind it one -bit-, and as soon as he lets up, scrambles to a sitting position -- close, of course, to the cowboy. Without another word, she slips the ribbon off, and opens the box, almost in one fluid motion. She has present opening down to an art.
And upon opening the little box, there's another little box, looks like a jewelry box of some sort, red velvet covering it. It's too large to be a ring box, possible a pendant, or earrings. (Heh, no the gunman's not considering marriage yet. He's gotta get used to not being single first.) Irvine watches her open it, a twinkle of pride in his eyes. This gift took him some effort, and he can't wait to see her reaction.
Selphie lets out a little 'annoyed' sound at another box -- not even having -thought- it might be an engagement ring, so. Besides, they're both young! Marriage is for old people. She shoots Irvine this 'there'd better not be another box' look, even as she opens the second one, biting her lip. What is iiit?
Inside the second box is a pendant, in the shape of a blazing sun. Gold, it sparkles brightly in the light with small stones that appear to be the birthstone for July set into each 'beam' that radiates off the center. The chain is gold also, but mostly tucked beneath the insert that displays the pendant. "Look at the back of it," Irvine advises.
Selphie ooooohs, another impressed noise, as she spots the lovely thing. Looking to the cowboy with widish eyes, she nodnods, and flips it over with her thumb and index finger -- as if it would break, or something.
On the back is a small inscription, carefully detailed, it bears the date as well as 'Love Irvy'. "I spotted it in Balamb. Thought it'd look awesome on you." Irvine beams with pride, really hoping he chose a good enough present. Selphie glances at the inscription, -beaming-. Hey! Maybe a sun pendadnt is fitting! Duh. Holding the box in one hand, she moves to throw her arms around Irvine's neck happily. "I loooove it!" And she does! Pretty, shiney things.
Irvine hugs Selphie close, glad no one can presently see that melty googly look on his face. He made his Sefie -happy-, and that's enough for him to turn a sour day into a really good one. Tilting his head to kiss her cheek, he murmurs, "I love you, darlin'. Happy Birthday."
If only -Sefie- could see that look. Ah, well -- she's -happy-! Whooo! Smiling sweetly to the kiss, she returns it with one of her own, then immediately fumbles to get the necklace out of the box. "Help me put it on!" she bubbles. Her, her, her. Sheesh.
Irvine doesn't seem to mind at all, taking the pendant and instructing Selphie to turn around with a gesture. Fumbling with the clasp for a moment, he finally gets it undone and drapes it over her head, "Hold your hair up darlin', don't want to pull anything."
Selphie does as in structed, reaching back and lifting that section of hair against her neck up, beaming all the while. Shyeah! "Can ya get it...?" She tilts her head to the side a bit, as if she could see the progress.
The chain's probably a little on the cold side, so it's more then likely noticable when Irvine finally gets the clasp back together and let's it rest against Selphie's neck. "Lemme see it on you," he says eagerly.
Selphie bites her lip lightly, having felt the cold necklace on her skin and all -- feels nice, really. She's -warm-, for some reason. Hmm~. Turning around, settling again to sit on her feet, she shrugs her shoulders up with this little self-concious smile. "Well?"
Irvine smiles down at the pendant, resisting the urge to touch it. It's near um... dangerous territory after all, which he can't help noticing that either. Uh, making himself look up again he smiles, "It's you. My sunshine."
Selphie doesn't even notice it being close to 'dangerous territory,' smiling almost dumbly. And at the compliment, she raises both hands to her face, cupping her cheeks as she bluuushes! How cuuute! "Your sunshine?" Aww.
Irvine tilts his head forward, resting his forehead against Selphie, "Yes, a constant ray of sunshine in a world that's got too much darkness." Wow, when did he get all mushy romantic and poetic? Don't ask. He *is* the notorious flirt.
Selphie bites her lip again, smiling wide even as she does. Moving her hands to rest lightly against either side of his neck, she giggles lightly. "I bet that took you a few hours to think up, huh." Tee hee. (Just for fun.)
Hmming, Irvine flicks his gaze toward the wall without moving his head. Violin music? Oh, that's right, Terra's next door. Ahem. He has to wonder just *how* much the poor girl has heard from this room... righto. Concentration going back to Selphie, he half smirks, half grins. "I had plenty of time to think lately." Aw, even hinting he's been just thinking about her all this time! "So, do I get to give you a birthday kiss?"
Selphie hears the music too -- how fitting! She shrugs her shoulders up, blushing again -- as the idea that Irvine possibly -has- been thinking about her all the time hits. Tilting her chin down a bit, giving her smile this little edge to it, she drawls, "I dunno~... -do- you?" Seems like an invitation, sho' nuff.
Irvine leans in a little closer, lips not too terribly far from Selphie's now, but he's not quite going in for the kiss yet. "Hmmm... not my call, it's your birthday, darlin'." Just checking for any of that 'Feisty' Sefie he saw on the Ragnarok.
Selphie's smile widens once more. "...Actually... it was yesterday," she whispers matter-of-factly. And she wastes no time in just closing the gap -- she's not -agressive-, she doesn't really have any motivation yet. Yay! Kissy-poo time. So -there-.
Oh, well, Irvine might have had another retort to that, but who can say, Selphie's silenced him as effectively as he'd done to her the night of the party. Which was an odd first kiss, but nice. Moving in a little closer for balance, he brings his hands up to Selphie's face, cupping her cheeks lightly for a moment, then letting his fingers drift down along her throat, before drawing her in closer, arms moving around to hold her. The violin music is kinda nice too... he'll have to thank Terra later. *hee*
Selphie didn't mind the first kiss setting. It's a story to tell to the grandkids. 'He wanted to shut me up, so he kissed me.' Or something like that. Now, really -- she doesn't mind this kissing gig one bit, no sir. But she doesn't really know what's what in this business, and so despite any feelings she may have otherwise, she's going to sit back and -learn- from the mastah' on this one. Making only a slight noise as she's pulled closer, her hands feel... huge, and in the way. Which is why she just lets them rest against his chest, though they're happy enough there. Hey, yeah... this kissing stuff isn't bad at all.
Mastah? Oh he likes to think he is. When was the last time he made out with a chick? Oh, yeah, like all the way back at Galbadia Garden, before he re-met Selphie. Since then, the chase hasn't interested him... unless it was Sefie. He's content to leave the kiss somewhat soft at first, knowing he's with a relative newbie to this little arena. No need to spook her too quickly. But, as pointed out earlier, he is a hormonal teenage male, and so impatience starts setting in, getting noticable as the kiss gets slightly more passionate, rougher. His hands aren't sitting idle either, stroking along her back, though not going any further then the shoulder area. He's trying to be good... really he is!
As much as she enjoys this -- and she does, believe you me -- she can't help but feel almost embarassed, not knowing what the heck to do, basically. But she's trying, and learning, even. Opting to move her hands up his chest, and over his shoulders, she lets her arms rest there, one hand toying with the largish amount of hair -- so much more than she posesses. Huh. Either way, she does pick up on Irvine's restlessness, feeling almost scared -- but not because she's scared of going any further, but because now she knows she'll be even -more- awkward. But that's okay! Because it's easy to forget, with Irvine stroking her back, and kissing... Mm. This is -nice-. But she'll let him do all the work.
Irvine doesn't seem to mind, in fact, he's used to it. Most of the students he necked with back at Galbadia weren't exactly experienced, how else did he pick up on these things himself? It always gave him a strange feeling of control, which was heady, so long as he didn't take advantage of it. The hat gets slightly tipped, he'd forgotten it, really, and he chuckles, breaking the kiss long enough to remove it and toss it onto the desk, not caring that it slides to the ground with a bunch of papers. Renewing the contact, he parts his lips slightly against hers, flicking his tongue against her lips, testing just how far she's willing to go this early in the game.
Selphie -also- can't seem to help but like this sense of 'fear,' which she'd always attributed in battle circumstances to adrenaline. But now -- hmm. Blinking slightly, catching her breath sortakinda as the hat is tossed, she does smile a bit -- she's more important than his hat! Which probably shoulda' been obvious, but ah well. As she again finds her lips to Irvine's, she is only -slightly!- surprised at the presence of his tongue, which... While kinda slimy, is still an interesting path. Hm. Selphie -is- curious, and she -is- trying to 'learn,' so to speak. So Irvine could likely get away with more than he knows without her realizing that it's 'pretty far.' But that's neither here nor there, as she revels in that nervous feeling in her chest, and parts her lips, but slightly, wrapping her arms around his neck to bring herself closer, now. Hmm!
Irvine chuckles breathily, deciding to let it go for now. With a last soft kiss he draws his face back, then kisses Selphie's forehead lightly. "I'm not gonna push, darlin'. I know you're new to this." Still, the chase is on for him, that familiar feeling of adrenaline and rush of his heartbeat. He's missed it. And since he has no plans of ever leaving Selphie, he's gonna have to work on keeping it exciting too. But, that's neither here nor there, enjoy the moment while he's got it, that's his motto.
Selphie has -definately- got that confused look down, but it's cute, so. Blushing noticably, she lowers her chin towards her chest, actually -thankful- that Irvine stopped. Whew! She was getting in over her head, there, but she won't admit it. She does, through the confusion, smile, though. "Thanks," is what she offers! Lucky you got that, she's stubborn. Now with an awkward silence -- for her -- to fill, she fidgets a bit, idly licking her lip. c_c; ...So. c_c
Irvine rubs at Selphie's shoulders a moment, somewhat unsure of where to go next himself. His eyes spot the pendant again, with its hypnotic sparkle and he stares at it for a moment before looking up again, "Hey... let's go for a walk." After all, being in here's just asking for more rumors.
Selphie glances around. Hrm. Nervous? No, awkward! But that's okay, 'cause she perks as she hears Irvine's voice, then the idea! "Okay!" she chirps, beam!ing once more. She realizes what being in here means, too. c_c |
