About Us
RAICES Dance Troupe, the only Latino Dance Troupe on the Syracuse University campus, was founded in 1998 by a group of students who wanted to educate the Syracuse University community about the richness and diversity of the Latino culture through music and dance. the word RAICES, which means "roots" Spanish, was chosen to express the main purpose of the organization, to express and create an appreciation of our roots and past.

- To make RAICES Dance Troupe the best Dance Troupe at Syracuse University
- To educate our members and the community about the richness and diversity of the Latino culture through music and dance
- To provide a sense of history and appreciation for our "raices"
Our Strategy
- We strive to make a positive contribution to the latino and Syracuse University community through our pursuit of excellence, by empowering our memebers and supporting creativity, and by upholding and sharing the traditions that have brought is to where we are today.
Raices performs for a number of events both on and off the S.U. Campus. In the past we have performed for:
- Andaaz 2006
- Cafe con Leche through La L.U.C.H.A
- Caribfest through the Caribbean Students Association
- CBT Weekend
- Dancing in the Dream
- Friends for Franklin Benefit
- Homecoming
- Learning Communities World Tour
- Multicultural Weekend
- Quisqueya through La L.U.C.H.A
- Westcott Street Cultural Fair
As well as many other performances
In addition, RAICES has had an annual show for the past four years. Including:
