Treat Or Trouble?
"Unh? Yapp, the same!! " I said. The problem is I cannot understand the British accent without compiling it. And it takes some time, which I was short of! Also, I thought that he is going to have a soft drink.
This happened in yesterday's party when a person from client's team asked me for a choice of drink. My colleague said something and I, sure that he doesn?t take alcohol, blindly said,  "Yepp; the same!!? I didn?t even see the contents when the first bottle of the soft drink came. It taste like Limca, so just drunk it like Limca. It was when the second bottle came; I saw the contents, which said 5.5 % alcohol!! Oh god ?. !!, I then realized that the Limca was  "Vodka!? but anyway, that was of no use. I had had it!
Giving me a dizzy world around, it had already started its work! I was not able to hear, see and understand properly. This was my problem. I don?t know what problem other would have faced when I talked, I really don?t have idea of! That was just horrible. But the mess had just begun. It had a long way to go. We were going to take our dinner at some Thai Restaurant. I preyed god, help me walking and it happened. With little difficulty, I managed to walk till the restaurant.
Now sure enough that my colleague is vegetarian, I said the  "THE SAME " again. And the trick worked this time. He ordered excellent food.
One of my clients was sitting across the table. And what happened god knows, but she said something and I, by mistake understood, the first sentence. It was some simple joke I understood and laughed. And that's what where I went wrong. I realized it later. She started talking to me! I was not getting anything what she was saying? Was just feeling in blues and was waiting for her to stop. And after around 3 mins of dialogues, she finally stopped. I, not sure how to react, gave a smile and she exploded laughing like anything, I understood what to do and took a prompt action and started laughing in the same spirit. I stopped only after she stopped laughing and never looked at her again..!!
That was a very difficult situation I ever faced in my life.
Then came the time to say good-bye. We came out of the restaurant. Suddenly she (my client) came close to me. I thought that she has something to say. So I stopped. But I was zapped when she started coming closer and closer. I said, god save my soul! I was not getting what to do? I front of all my colleagues, in the public, oh my god what the hell is she up to??? Within 3 seconds, all that came to my mind. She came closer and gave me a goodbye kiss, when she was kissing; I was staring at the sky. And I kissed back in the air!! That's the end. I was more than embarrassed. But felt comfortable later, when she did the same to others, too.
Finally, she disappeared in the dark and I felt relaxed.
That was the end of the party and my troubles.
So I say, Indian parties are better.
