Nestled between the hillocks of the Fort City of Gwalior is the Carmel Convent Senior Secondary School, the prestigious educator to the citizens of Gwalior. The missionary zealots, the Carmelite Sisters of St.Teresa of Emakulam, Kerala State, have spanned the nooks and comers of India, educating the masses. Thus the scholastics disembarked in Gwalior and founded the school in 1957. It was registered in Madhya Pradesh under the M.P. Societies Registration Act in 1959 and the reins are still in the dexterous hands of the Carmelite Sisters. Currently this full-fledged school is following the CBSE programme. It houses separate annexes for the toddlers, named the "Little Flower Home" from which bloom out the Kindergarteners, and the "Carmel Convent Middle School, Hindi Medium, which replenishes the needs of the national language lovers, from kindergarten to Class VIII.

The purpose of the school is the overall development of the children, inculcating them to be righteous citizens. The school activities are thus focused on the prevailing needy situations. It endeavors to bring an awareness to the existing social conditions and infuses in them equality, freedom, tolerance and respect for all religions and values. It enriches children with resources of knowledge, which endure as long as life endures- The school exerts a formative influence on the young individuals, and deploys the integrity of the individual under the fair guidance of well-accomplished teachers

It provides a complete education for the individual to perform justly, skillfully and magnanimously in all fields. To put In a nutshell, it nurtures, tempers and mellows a person into an exemplary character.
