                                   Ganapati at 29,Stevenson road,Ipswich.

Ganapati fest was celebrated at Ipswich in style. Co-ordinator Neeraj Garg invited all MBT-ians to 29,Stevenson road,Ipswich.

Fest started on 10th Sep,2002. 29th Stevenson is the house of 3 bachelors. Kudos to the efforsts put in by them. The opening day witnessed over 50 MBTians from all MBT locations in Ipswich -Adastral Park,Barrack square,Felixstowe,Bibbway. Lords Ganesha's idol with the beautiful backdrop of tiranga was gracing the place. A marathi bhajan casette was arranged, and everything was GANESHMAY. Prasadam was prepared with full devoution. It was mainly SHEERA(halua), PANJEEREE,FRUIT SALAD.All stood up for AARTI. It was nice to see that Indian culture is still deeply rooted in the community. Many knew aarti by heart. Few like me, needed to refer Aarti books which were pre-arranged.(Thanks to Patel's shop in Ipswich, the only Indian shop.) The tricolour in the background was adding to the grandeur of the INDIAN EVENING.Prasadam was distributed, and the co-ordinator announced that this would be the same for coming 5 days. The closing ceremony was on 15th Sep,2002.

The evening of 15th was the last day for the Fest. Many people came early for SHRAM DAN.I contributed by breaking the coconut which was to be used in SAKAR BHAT. Sakar bhat was simply Yummm......Yummm......Yummm......Yummm.......The grand pooja was carried out by a colleague Mr Balchandra who knew all the procedures and necessary mantras. Co-ordinator Neeraj Garg reverently followed Mr Balchandra instructions and conducted the pooja. The prasadam was brought to the office the next day.

Mr. Neeraj Garg, has enjoyed the success of the event and has vouched to conduct Garba in Ipswich. However this seems doubtful but still, spirits are high. Neeraj Garg- Cheers !!!
